what is that sound?
You did it again Fr Jerome. You made an old guy cry. God Bless you and everything you and Fr Chris do for us here in Huntley
Thank you , This is very helpful.
I was married 52 years ago on the beach at Ocracoke, NC. Does the Catholic Church consider my children and grandchildren illegitimate?
So I’m in OCIA first day yesterday and my wife from civil marriage was baptized as baby by parents her parents are now Jehovah witness and say not remember what church baptised in as baby. I am not catholic ….trying to be but my wife not want to join church again as of now but willing to marry in church. Will I need her baptism certificate and what if we can’t find the record all we know is she may have been baptised in CA.
Great sermon
Thank you Father and servers!
happy Sunday to all.
When I was growing up, my Catholic family said nothing about how to marry through the church. Mind you, my own parents didn't get married in the church but had it convalidated after (my mom called it, getting it "blessed" and I was embarrassed when I was corrected by a priest later in life, like that's the most I knew!) but they didn't even mention about needing to get a dispensation beforehand. Now I'm trying to get mine convalidated or whatever we're able to get so I can get back to my Catholic roots and start raising our kids Catholic and even bring my husband to the faith if he feels led.
I had the same experience. Raised in the catholic church as a child and didn’t know I had to marry a catholic or marry in the church. I just thought being married was enough. Now I’m trying to navigate my faith with an invalidated marriage by the church.
@dariana4247 So, I was told by a Priest who works in Canon Law for our diocese and he stated there's three types - lack of canonical form, mixed marriage, and then radical sanation. Look into those and ask your priest about it. I am personally praying for my husband's conversion because that's where I feel led at this point. It's tough though because I am unable to receive the Eucharist, but at least I can still go up and be blessed by the Priest. Good luck and may God bless you and guide you to what you and your family need. ❤️
@@Heggie_Boo Thank you, I will look into these. Same to you my friend. God bless you and tour family.
I have missed these homilies! God bless Fr. Koutnik. 🙏🏼

Excellent homily.
Amen. Let's continue the revival.
Father, where are we to find playing Protestant type music during adoration?
You can look up Matt Maher who's actually Catholic. Before NEC I was unfamiliar with him. But all my Catholic converts & charismatics had him in their playlist. Some of the songs he played at NEC: Lord, I Need You Because He Lives Run To The Father
@@ainako1010 it doesn’t matter if he is “Catholic” the genre of music which he is playing comes from a Protestant contemporary genre. Nowhere is this type of music to be found in our spiritual tradition, nor is playing music during adoration to be found.
They constantly keep repeating “This is the new Pentecost” or “this is the new springtime.” They’ve been repeating this for the last 80 years and nothing good has happened yet from it, the attendance of this Congress wasn’t even close to what past ones have done I understand many Catholics like the charismatic renewal, but to say it is the “new Pentecost” is absurd when there problems in the movement, basically taking stuff from Pentecostal non sense.
@@TradidiQuodetAccepi Ah. I thought you were asking suggestion for charismatic praise music. But you're a hater lol. I mean, I get it, I lean more towards latin and gregorian chant myself. But after Eucharistic Congress, I'm going to gatekeep less from a rad trad POV.
@@ainako1010 if a “hater” is one who questions where the practice of singing Protestant type music during adoration/mass, I cues I am a hater. I don’t “hate” that contemporary music, in fact I think it’s fine to listen to in one’s everyday life. But I question its usage in the liturgy.
Thank You Father! Wonderful!
Annulment are not biblical
Recommend doing the Bible in a Year with Father Mike Schmitz through Ascension
Love this ❤️🙏🙌
Thank you fathers and friends
Where can one find where the Church law/Canon law mentioned in the video. I’d love to get more info, this is very interesting information. God bless you
The comments that I read some are definitely a solid reason in my mind NOT to be Catholic, also the 10 Commandments are not suggestions and it distinctly says the 7th Day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. Which day is Sunday? Which day is Saturday? Who changed the Sabbath of God to the sabbath of the Catholic faith? Answer: the Catholic Church in the year 336 AD changed the “Solumnity” from the Seventh Day to the First day. SO the Sabbath of God is Saturday, the sabbath of the Pope is Sunday. History check to see if I lie!
Yes, the Catholic Church has the Authority…. The Gregorian calendar that you use to this day was thanks to the Catholic church. So whether you like it or not it or not, you submit to the Catholic Church.
Dang! You caught us! I guess I’ll have to change to Protestant now, shucks… 😕
Concert was fantastic to worship thank you for the concert
I’m a baptized, communion and confirmation Catholic , and my fiance is non-Catholic he is Muslim. Can I still marry at a Catholic Church for my part? And take holy communion for my part?
Convalidation was one of the most infuriating things I’ve ever experienced in my life. Most because my now ex-wife was terribly uncooperative. It’s like they make up these rules without thinking of any of the real world implications.
This is one of the reasons why I am leaving the Catholic Church 🫢😟
A real Catholic does not leave Jesus in the Eucharist. I no other faith will you find the true Body, blood, soul, and divinity. Get to know your faith. After this short life there is an eternal life.
@@beatricepulidoExcept for the Orthodox and Anglican churches....although I'm sure you'd say just the Orthodox also do...
Dear Fr, I want to know if the couple is Roman catholic and is pregnant before marriage and wants to get married in the church before the baby is born. Will the priest get them married asap ?
Please also include radical sanation for retroactive canonical effect if it applies to that couple. Thank you!
What an amazing Mass. Evert seat was full! Praise God!
Thanks MOM I love you
We got married in a Christian church but the Catholic Church we visited last Sunday said we are fornicating until we are married in a Catholic Church but I was baptized catholic. Christian is mentioned in the Bible several times but catholic isn’t mentioned once.
Another that is extremely wierd is that most Catholics in Philippines do not know what Christian means. It’s in the Bible. More than one Catholic there has asked me if I believe in Jesus or read the Bible. They literally never heard of the word Christian!! They only know the word Catholic
Marriage is a covenant which is formed by vows and nothing else. Canonical form did not even exist as a requirement for the vast majority of the catholic church's existence. One of the reasons it started was due to clandestine marriages. That is a moot issue today but they still use it as a loophole just like all of the other annulment loopholes they have created to give people a backdoor way out of a marriage without calling it a divorce. God does not care more about technicalities like the location of a wedding or who was there than he cares about the actual vows and the families and children who are abused by annulments. If it was a first marriage for both of you, then it is valid.
This rule makes no sense.
OH MY GOD PRETTY SEXY ALTAR BOY👦😋 SERVERS I LOVE❤YOU ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💘💘💘💘💘💖💖💖💖💖💕💕💕💕💞💞👍👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌷🌷🌷🌷⚘⚘⚘⚘😋😋😋😋😋
Son is marrying a beautiful non-Catholic gal who is sweet. Thankfully they are getting married in the Church. No mass, but we wonder about the best way to proceed as Catholic parents to get them off on the right foot etc. We pray that perhaps our daughter in-law may convert to the one true faith.
Great job
We love you, Fr! 😂❤
Just more reason why Catholicism is a false religion preaching, "another Gospel," other than the gospel found in the Bible. Jesus lived a perfect life, died a sinners death, resurrected from the dead, and is coming back for His own. Saved through faith alone by grace alone and not through works of sacraments.
Faith with out works is nothing.
In order to get the fullness of the one true faith which is the Catholic Church a person needs to get ask the Holy Spirit to help. All books are contained in the Catholic Bible. So if your Bible is missing books you have only partial truth.
Thanks to Deacon Jim & Fr DiTomo today!
I dont have all my sacraments But im married by civil court I was told by the receptionist that I would have to get marry by the church first in order to get my sacraments. Is that right? I thought sacraments like the first communion and confirmation.
Thanks for the homily Fr GOD bless you
I rarely tune into these broadcasts (preferring to attend), but happened to tune-in today, and that homily was beyond beautiful and full of every truth. Thanks, Fr. Jerome Koutnik.
I can hear you.
Excellent
Thank you Fr for a beautiful time in the Lord 🙏🏻
I guess one thing I am confused about after watching this video is that can’t you follow the Lord God and do your best to serve him unless you are doing it the Catholic Churches way? To someone who isn’t exposed to the Catholic Church but reads scripture and devotes time to prayer and trying to be the best Christian that doesnt count cause it’s not the specific Catholic way?
My wife and I enjoyed saying the rosary with you. Please think about doing it again. Thank you.
Thank you father DTtomo.
Thank you Fr DTtomo for letting us pray the rosary with you!
