Yes it is open in august however it is dependent on Kaveri flood situation..if the river is flooded then the boats are forced to closed by the authorities and so that the park.

Yes..please avoid visiting there till mid of October..it’s most cyclone prone area and heavy rainfall is expected there..November to Mid of June is best time to visit here..
