    I can confirm that this machine is not appropriate for long straight cuts. I've set the guides to be close as possible to the blade, and applied a fair amount of tension, so it's really straight, however it still deviates during the cut. It works ok for pieces about 10 cm, but bigger than that it's impossible. NOTA: I'm using the blade that came with the machine and I have not tried other

    You're supposed to shift your weight as you move the material through the machine. Press the back of the board when you go into the blade, and shift the weight to the front of the board after the blade is past the center of the material. This way you'll be referencing off of the outfeed table as the board exits the blade and it won't be able to tilt back into the infeed table.

    Down-cutting blades are for laminates, worktops, etc where the up cutting blades will leave a fractured laminate on top. I don't know why you had problems as I use whatever I have to hand or is in the jigsaw - except when cutting worktops.

    the 250W motor seems so cute and dandy but in the catalog they recommend a 15 minute job with pause for the motor to cool down and I was wondering if we cold change the motor to more powerful one. I found in my area a couple of motors with 2.2KW, 1.8KW and a 1.1KW for about 70 euros each. Also in my shop I have 3 phase power so having a small 700W motor with 3 phase is also possible but a bit more expensive I guess. I do believe than even a washing machine motor would be better than the silly 250W one but hey, if it works it works

    Get some dowel pins then work out where the struts have to go then put dowl pins in holes in struts & simply press against the joining bit. They leave small indents where the dowels need to be drilled

    Hi, just a question about hand planing. Why aren’t you using the einhell to flatten the faces, is it not up to the job? The reason I ask is because I’m thinking of buying the same model but if it’s not up to planing the face like your doing by hand I might have to look at something more expensive..

    • @woodsyswoodshop6248
      @woodsyswoodshop6248 2 месяца назад

      Hi, thanks for the question. The einhell gets it very smooth but I like to "tune it up" a bit with my hand plane. I like planing and the finish is a bit better. You could definitely get away with just a bit of sanding. The Einhell is a great purchase if you are a hobbyist like me.

    Hi just a bit of friendly advice, if you’ve got so many repeatable cuts to do instead of measuring everyone you could have fastened the plywood down so it doesn’t move and then fixed a stop block at the other end so every slat would be the same length and there can’t be any miss measuring.

    Its the ripping that drains the battery, look at a video on RUclips that compares the newer DeWalt PowerStack batteries vs. these XR batteries. As they rip boards a battery dies really fast, it seems.

  • @ImNikem
    @ImNikem 3 месяца назад

    Watching the video now i have the same battery pack and these things get really hot after extended use and shut themselves down as a safety precution just in case you were wondering why

    • @woodsyswoodshop6248
      @woodsyswoodshop6248 3 месяца назад

      Yes! I thought that might be the case. I guess they are more for short cross cuts rather than long rips.

    I still think there is 2 issues at play: The table top bandsaw is just 250w and might stuggle with rip cuts. The new blade is more of a cure cutting one than ripping. You could try a 1400x6.35 4TPI blade. 🤔 I have a 750w Einhell with a 3 TIP blade for rips, still I go slow to avoid stalling or drifting.

      Jup, life is a learning curve. And of all saws (I own about thirteen), it's by far the trickiest to get cutting good. But when it does its job well, its unbeatable. I cut some 17cm thick pine in half to small speaker stands. Out of the thirteen saws, only maybe a handsaw could have made that cut... 😁

  • @EightBitTony
    @EightBitTony 3 месяца назад

    Don't think you're doing anything wrong. The blade/motor just might not be up to it. Have you looked at a lower TPI blade (and wider, which might help with reduced wandering).

  • @lehtinel80
    @lehtinel80 4 месяца назад

    Yeah, battery powered circular saws are not really up for making rip cuts. The Einhell could perform better with a heftier, 3-4 tpi / skip tooth blade, the one you've got on is better for curvy cuts in sheet material or similar.

    • @woodsyswoodshop6248
      @woodsyswoodshop6248 4 месяца назад

      Cool. The blade actually snapped the other day so I bought a new one. We'll see how it fares.

  • @tonyf68
    @tonyf68 4 месяца назад

    Is it a 250W motor on the Einhell bandsaw and is the blade still the one that it came with, or did you replace it for a better one? Do you think your circular saw is struggling with that oak as well, judging by the impact that it’s having on the battery?
