A lot of wrong things there: passing the piece with barehands (a small piece), the face should be flattened before the edge, the push block was used backwards.

Thanks for sharing. Lidl offers a crazy discounted price on the Parkside Planer Thicknesser here in CZ, and AFIK that's basically the same machine rebranded. I think I may get one of those just to see how it holds up.

I think with ur band saw, try not use a fence...im thinking it binds up, then stops the saw.... free hand cut it, it will be faster than the circular saw

Hey Woodsy - love what you're doing, great channel, keep it up. Not sure if you noticed, but on top of our router bit, there's a hex key hole - you can take the bearing off and replace or clean it without risking losing a finger! All the best

Good, helpful video for people with this machine. Just a thought....please roll your sleeves up, it's so easy to get caught in those blades when running stock through (even when using the guard).

I have the same machine as you have here and get most of the same problems, changing a blade is no fun at all and you get frustrated with it after a short time. I can not cut a straight line with the guide either, so I do it by hand, bit difficult when you are only partially sighted (vision in one eye only). A comment on your video, / Always disconnect the power before working on it and don't recommend using the allen key to overide the safety devices. I did see at one time you did not put the Plastic/metal (now) guide down the left side before running it and you didn't show fitting it at all for final scene. Unfortunately some of us can not afford a superdouper Bandsaw and have to settle with the above sort of level. Anyway thanks for the video, you have shown me where I have been going wrong with replacing the blade Keith

I can confirm that this machine is not appropriate for long straight cuts. I've set the guides to be close as possible to the blade, and applied a fair amount of tension, so it's really straight, however it still deviates during the cut. It works ok for pieces about 10 cm, but bigger than that it's impossible. NOTA: I'm using the blade that came with the machine and I have not tried other

You're supposed to shift your weight as you move the material through the machine. Press the back of the board when you go into the blade, and shift the weight to the front of the board after the blade is past the center of the material. This way you'll be referencing off of the outfeed table as the board exits the blade and it won't be able to tilt back into the infeed table.

Down-cutting blades are for laminates, worktops, etc where the up cutting blades will leave a fractured laminate on top. I don't know why you had problems as I use whatever I have to hand or is in the jigsaw - except when cutting worktops.

the 250W motor seems so cute and dandy but in the catalog they recommend a 15 minute job with pause for the motor to cool down and I was wondering if we cold change the motor to more powerful one. I found in my area a couple of motors with 2.2KW, 1.8KW and a 1.1KW for about 70 euros each. Also in my shop I have 3 phase power so having a small 700W motor with 3 phase is also possible but a bit more expensive I guess. I do believe than even a washing machine motor would be better than the silly 250W one but hey, if it works it works
