      Resi is my favorite video game franchise. I really love the remakes. RE4 Remake is currently one of my top 5 best games of all time. I love the TLOU, but until they have more entries into the series, it's hard for me to include it into my top franchises of all times since there are only two games; albeit, amazing games.

      @@Evoldog This may surprise you, but Revelations is my favorite in the series. Granted, I have only played that and Zero, but, I think Revelations will remain one of my favorite (despite it's terrible swimming controls) The Norman boss had me RAGING! Any tips? I can't seem to beat him, and I am playing on normal One of the reasons why Revelations is my favorite right now, is because I played the 3DS Demo when i was 17. The scariest game I ever played at the time Edit: I beat the game on the easy difficulty, it's GOOD

    Evoldog, I owe you a humongous thank you. It is hard in the current internet climate. It feels like everyone thinks Joel is selfish, and doomed humanity. It's really hard when people make you feel crazy for a belief that you would think would be common sense. This video is a safe place for me to come to remind myself why I love Joel so much in the first place. He is my video game father, my favorite video game character (Ellie is my second favorite, if you wanted to know, lol). Your video has helped me so much. I get emotional sometimes listening, because, Joel is such a great character, and, you remind me that, not only am I right to believe that, but, people still believe in the good in his heart. Thanks so much for this video. Joel really is the hero of TLOU.

      @@RareGamer-jm7gu Like you, I was annoyed at how so many people were defending the Fireflies because they sold them a bill of goods by wanting to "save the world" and yet they were no better than all the other fascist militant factions out there-Joel saw straight threw them. It was the Fireflies that violated Ellie's right, not Joel. Ellie must have realized this later on because she eventually goes on her vengeful campaign against all the perpetrators that took part in his demise.

    Concerning the statement @12:12.... "Babymetal is a manufactured product"... well consider this... both the "King of Rock and Roll" Elvis Presley and the "King of Pop" Michael Jackson were in fact manufactured... as well as 99% of all music played on the airwaves today and for the past 30 years...

    • @Evoldog
      @Evoldog 6 лет назад

      And that's one of the reason why most hardcore metalheads hate "pop" music. When I was in my teens to early 30s, it was all about supporting grass root bands that started in the garage or warehouses. Independent music that went against the grain and didn't care about radio play. Obviously, once a band gets mainstream recognition and changes their sound to appeal to a wider audience, it certainly becomes more "manufactured". Most pop music is manufactured (I'm sure there are exceptions), but it doesn't mean that you can't make great pop songs. Knowing out right that Babymetal is a fusion of metal and Jpop, I never had any problem accepting their sound. Actually, I liked the first album more because it was more jpop than metal-i know, crazy me right?

    I had some equal feelings on this, though I didn't fell asleep the first time watching it. But it grew on me every time ich watched it (three times so far). The director (obviously a fan) clearly shows much respect to the original. He also borrowed some ideas from the animated series. I don't know, if you ever watched it, but it's really good!

    • @Evoldog
      @Evoldog 7 лет назад

      To me, this is more of an origjn tale of Motoko Kusanagi. Once I accepted that fact, I did start to enjoy the film a lot more. And Scarjo did grow on me. Maybe the next film will be the true GITS movie we've been waiting. But I don'think it's going to happen because of the dismal box office. Haven't seen the behind the making of, but I will definitely put it on my list. Thanks.

    I do love the instrumental sound of the metal genre, but just like you said, I feel that many are taking it too seriously. For me, a good instrumental song is ruined when the vocals just consist of incomprehensible grunting. Once reason why I always enjoyed bands like Nightwish with clear vocals and an actually good singer. Still, I am not too much of a fan of all the negativity in metal vocals. And I think that this (besides the amazing compositions) is the major thing that resonated for me with Babymetal. They've shown that you can mix heavy sound with lighthearted mood.

    I can't really call myself a fan of metal, due in large part to its highly elitist fanbase being a major turnoff. I _am_ however a massive anime dork and have been for 15 years. So, I first heard of BM about 3 years ago through the grapevine but didn't really think much about them at the time because I was more concerned with other types of music. <cont'd> Flash forward to last year, when I hear they're going to be on Stephen Colbert. I thought, "Well, Stephen is a giant nerd so it's not a _huge_ shock." I watched their performance of Gimme Chocolate!. While it was okay, I noticed a lot of established fans complaining that BM should have played one of their newer songs. I typed in BABYMETAL into RUclips, found the official channel, and checked out what was at that point their newest video... KARATE. I was blown away. I've listened to a fair bit of Japanese music (huge fan of The Pillows + certain singers & composers connected to anime), and Karate hooked me immediately -- Suzuka's powerful vocals, the choreography, the symbolism. It's an amazing music video. From there I did what I usually do: went all the way back to the beginning because I like to watch stuff chronologically, and ended up at Doki Doki Morning. The girls were so tiny! But the hooks were excellent. I checked out a few more videos and loved them. Then the channel posted THE ONE. Hearing Suzuka belting in surprisingly good English really drew me in. I listened to it and Karate multiple times. I have no qualms in calling myself a fan. Sidebar: As a drummer myself, I have great respect for many metal bands even if I don't like their gimmicks or lyrics, because the top bands tend to have world-class drummers and bassists. The Kami Band is soooo legit it's not even funny. Anyway... What I love about BABYMETAL is the positivity that radiates. How can you *_not_* smile at three teenage Japanese girls doing tightly choreographed dancing to some uber sick riffs while singing about wanting candy? (although Gimme Chocolate might be my least favourite song of theirs; still good, but not _as_ good) It's absurd and amazing and I love it. Sorry for the long-ass post.

      Our introduction to Babymetal are very simiar. Bet it is like this for lots of fans. It starts out with genuine curiosity, then, gimme chocolate.; then maybe doki doki morning or karate, and it's straight down the rabbit hole from there.

      After watching your video, I've been thinking about what you said on how MoiMoi (Yui & Moa) are more important than people think. When I first got into BM, I wondered why they were there and if they were needed. Then I watched some Sakura Gakuin vids and saw how talented they really are. Yui and Moa complement each other perfectly in personality and style -- Yui is reserved and on-point while Moa is outgoing and gets more into the moves. They even auditioned together! By coincidence, their birthdays are only two weeks apart (Moa is the younger one). They're both also excellent singers in their own right. Almost a pity they got paired with Suzuka, whose voice is in a league of its own. Still, Suzuka said in an interview that she leans on them to keep her going. *_She_* needs them as much or more than they need her, and that's good enough for me. Without MoiMoi, BABYMETAL would lose its heart & skull.

    couldn't agree more with everything you've said...metal like punk is about breaking the rules and being different... what describes babymetal more than that? all hail the fox god!

    You sir are very well spoken. 20 minutes is alot to ask but it was well worth it.You held my interest the entire time. I too am captivated by this band to a degree nearing obsession. In all my 61 years this has never happened before and I was around for the fab four. Don't know how they did it but I'm glad they did.

      Ernest Rimbeck Good list. Yeah, my top 11 was tough. So many songs I couldn't include from Metal Resistance since the debut album was so strong.

      +Evoldog Unlike their 1st album the 2nd one takes a couple of listens to appreciate how good the album really is. The Catchiness of the 1st album is a hard act to follow, but Kobametal (the mad genius who conceived the idea of Babymetal and made them a reality) really wanted them to be more Metal.

    Very well said. And it sounds almost like my own story regarding BABYMETAL (despite the favourite songs list of course). Welcome to THE ONE! Probably the world's most rabid but also nicest fandom.

      Steffen Jachnow Yeah, I'm sure lots of dye in the wool heavy metal fans have very similar experiences discovering Babymetal. Just stubborn to try out something so different from the norm. But if it grabs you, it is such an amazing discovery.

      Actually BABYMETAL is the first band in four decades of hearing music, who achieved to made me a "real" fan (belive it or not). It was a little bit frightening at the beginning...
