Hello Railfan,Question most of the rail cars have some kind of graffiti on the them. Do rail companies evet clean them off. And do the rail companies prosecute the people that do it. In my opinion it's tacky😮😢😮
They usually don't clean them if the car I.D. number is painted over they will paint over the graffiti and then put the number over the paint. As for prosecuting vandals I only assume for trespassing not all cars are owned by the railroads so I don't know if they have the right to prosecute every case and the trespassing would probably be enough for the first offense.

Why do they always lash these up with so much power? I'll bet they can notch that thing up and hit 60 mph in 15 seconds!
I used to have the same question until I heard an employee for Norfolk Southern explain, on long distance trains they have one or two usually in tow with the ability to switch power to one or both if one of the two running locomotives run low on fuel. Then they could be transporting the locomotive(s) to a specific yard.

It's empty and probably coming from somewhere in New York, Philadelphia or Boston. This is in Wellington which is 40ish miles southwest of Cleveland, Ohio.

I know nothing about trains, and I don't know what's happening here, but you gotta hand it to the train enthusiasts, they can just watch one go by and be excited. I wish we all had a hobby like that

Thank you so much. I have another question. There are no caboose on trains. Where do the worker's or conductors be at?
Well a train crew on freight trains now only consists of the engineer and conductor in the lead engine. The caboose and it's crew was replaced with a device attached to the last cars knuckle or coupler and it sends a signal of some sort I don't know what that signal is could be satellite or mobile network signal. Leaning more to a mobile network if I had to guess. That way the railroad employees that control the traffic know at all times where the trains are at like air traffic control with the transponders on planes or other aircraft.
I counted 165 rail cars. It that correct?
I honestly don't know but some people have counted over 200 cars. Since the East Palestine train derailment last January here in Ohio the government wanted to limit train lengths
