@@Mewtwo-hy4feCongestive heart failure. He had a heart attack. After open heart surgery. He died At home in Milton Georgia. He was 71 years old. RIP Brother Gary.

It's all about the MUSIC,THE POWER OF MUSIC! Has been ever since Oct 20 1977. I was only 18 yrs old,now I am 65 yrs old. I have celebrated this Tribute to the great Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ronnie VanZant and will continue to do so!!! Thank you Johnny!!! ❤

Mr. Medlocke is a partial original and contributed to the band (singing, performing and writing) in the early years just as much if not more than the others, although that material is often less played. So, I'd hardly call him a "freeloader". As to the younger Mr. Van Zant, he's been doing it longer than his late brother and he's said many times, "I'm not Ronnie and I could never be Ronnie".
@@googleusergp Medlocke was awesome in Blackfoot. All he did in Skynyrd was sing the song White Dove on a recording and he played drums in one show in Jacksonville along side Bob Burns. No he didn’t contribute much at all and was never officially in the band. He should go to Blackfoot or change the name of the band from Lynyrd Skynyrd to something else.
