After a cold front came in and dropped the temps by a few, I expected the bite to be tough, but still managed a few. A change in bait color made a big difference and triggered fish that were ignoring a shad colored squarebill.

So I had to re-upload this video. For some reason youtube left it at a 360 res when I shot and exported in 4K! In this video I left lots of footage that I usually cut out. I just wanted to give a real time sense of what a fishing excursion really is like. Most fish came by dropshot and one by the Lv500!. Lost a few but that's how it goes.

Yea I'm giving the game away, So What!? I ain't scared!!! LoL! So this is a pre-fish/scouting out of an area I am not familiar with but will be fishing a tournament in two weeks. It's always a challenge to figure new waters, but especially a real mind trick when the fish are just not acting like you think they should at this time of year. Hope you enjoy coming along on this fishing adventure

Nice fly fishing vid. Tonto looks nice to fish. I just started fly fishing recently here in az, but havent landed any trout so im watching vids of where people have caught them, lol.
I’m sure you’ll find some great spots. When I get skunked on trout fishing trips, I’ll go for some bluegill to fill that desire. 😊
thank you for this info! can you or anyone reading this tell me how to remove the prop so I can make and install a weed guard? (pescador pilot) I took the cap nut off but stopped there as I'm afraid of breaking something. TIA
I’m not sure how the pescador props are fastened. If there is a nut behind the prop and one in front, then they may just be held by the compression of the nuts. But check the prop for a cross pin. If it has one, a pin punch should drive it out.
Btw. Those props are pretty cheap. I’d order some extras. And once in hand, you’ll know for sure if they have a cross pin.

Looks like a bluegill/green sunfish hybrid. Note the orange pectorals with white stripes. That's pretty common on Apache since there are so many green sunfish there. Big sunfish, regardless!
Probably would be a good idea if I finally sit down and learn all the different hybrid and variations😅

Aliexpress has the same nylon props for $3, I just bought 5 of them. Make sure you type 14x6 or 14x8 gas/oil propeller. Hope this helps you guys. 😉

I’ve been thinking of getting back out there. I started a business. I turned a hobby of machining into a side business, and between my day job (driving a concrete mixer) and that. Fishing has gone by the wayside. I’ll get back out there. Thanks for your faithfulness.

I have a Pecador Pilot. Same drive, same prop. Only the housing for the shaft and the mount differs. I found APC five years ago, searching online for a prop. I guess the word "Pilot", made it pop up. The old prop is just now showing significant wear. Five years of saltwater fishing and sandbars. Like you say, it looks flimsy, but it ain't. Good thing I got me a backup.

Where can i find the correct hexnuts for the perception pescador pilot drive. I went to harbor freight & home depot with no luck. I know they’re 3/8, but they simply wont screw in. Thank you in advance
Sorry for the late response. But you’ll have to check the thread pitch. Most nut sizes come in various thread pithes. And then there’s metric nuts. A 10mm is similar in size to 3/8, but they are not compatible.

Very informative video. Thank you. what's that metal tag riveted on the back for? is that like a registration or something? I just got the same kayak and I've never been out kayaking before.
Not sure what tag your referring to, but no registration needed for kayaks. Unless you put an electric trolling motor on them.
Can you do an actual prop removal/replacement video? I can't figure out how to get my prop off of my new helix drive and their isn't any information out there on how to. Please help.
This I know. Wilderness Systems changed the design and it is not a simple “fastened between nuts” like mine. It might be some press fit or pinned. I really don’t know because I never upgraded, which is what they suggested when I asked them for replacement props, they wanted to swap out the whole drive. You can try calling them, but they are the worst in the industry when it comes to even answering their damn phones.

They should be standard pedals. I just got them off of Amazon.
