I had read somewhere before that Gogeta has a new personality that differs from Goku and Vegeta. He understands that he only got less than 30 minutes to live, and that is why he chose to use all his powers to defeat Broly, even though he might have won even if he didn't go SSB. Might as well test the limits of his power since who knows when he will be able to resurface again, knowing Vegeta reluctance to do the dance. Like if you rent a sports car for 30 minutes, you will of course use your time to drive it in the circuit, rather than a normal street where you can test the full speed all you want. Gogeta also tries his hardest to not kill Broly since without Broly, there is no need for Gogeta to be born and his saiyan instinct to not kill strong opponents, especially fellow rare saiyans (they are endangered species in case we forgot😂).
