Cool inside info about how things work in the announcers booth ! I had the privilege to be able to see a little of it during a game ! And what i remember the most is how friendly everyone was ! The energy was so amazing ! Fun light podcast btw , love it ! greetings from Belgium ;-)

Drew Smith has always been a single inning reliever for the most part. Don't see anyone giving him the long relief role coming off of UCL reconstruction surgery. Plus, he'll be lucky to even be ready by spring training, so I don't even see him under contract for any team, let alone the Mets. Stearns has a lot of work to do! Also, Bader has already been a free agent so no qualifying offer for him. Personally, I don't see him getting a contract from the Mets with Drew Gilbert waiting in the wings.

I agree with Tom, give Iglesias another year or so, he has an energy that gives the team a boost. Offer Pete a 3 or 4 year contract, maybe five, but no more than that. I would like him to stay, he has that chance of topping the franchise HR record and keeping it for maybe as long as Daryl Strawberry. We are proud of you, Mets. We were so close but you can never rule out the Dodgers in a title run. I see them as champions but I'm just as bad at predictions as anyone haha. Regarding Jeff McNeil - the Mets desperately needed another left-handed bat, and seeing how he had two sac flies in game 5 (bat to ball skills!), his return has paid off and I think he will have a big hit tonight.

A colleague of mine is a Yankee. Last year we were both lamenting Mets and Yankees performance. This year we are both hoping for a Mets v Yankees final. Just a couple of days back, we were predicting this. It's got to happen. #lgm

This season just gets better and better. From 0-5, then a terrible May - to now. Would rather face the Dodgers than the Padres but they'll be up to the job whoever they face. Could be Mets' year I think.

I've watched the Lindor's GS "from every angle" video numerous times. Marte high-stepping it down the 3rd baseline was priceless. '86 Mets was memorable. I'm from Manhattan- and was in the city for game 6 of the world series. I was freshman at University in Worcester, MA. Drove back to school in time for game 7. That week, I got tossed from baseball practice for wearing my Mets cap during warm ups. '86 pitching rotation; Gooden, Darling, Sid Fernandez and Ojeda was one of the best in the Mets history. And you had McDowell setting up Orosco to close. The NLDS vs the Astros was as crazy as the world series that followed vs the Redsox. This current Mets team has its own personality... Haven't seen any thing like it, and I've been a fan since 1977 which was Kingman's last year as a Met. It seems everyone on the team has bought in and that's credit to Mendoza and his staff. Lindor to some degree as well. Diaz makes my ulcer act up. He needed these 3 days off probably more than anyone. Hopefully, he comes back throwing strikes... AND STOPS WALKING THE BALLPARK. I'm hopeful. It's been a long time since the vibes surrounding the team have been this huge. I feel like we win it in 4, but I also have a nervous feeling underneath that they'll take one in Queens. What I DO know is that Citifield will be shaking at the foundations. From what I've seen, there isn't even really any standing room only left, so it'll be wild, raucous, and most importantly for the lads, LOUD. LFGM 🧡💙🧡💙

I'm daring to dream. Two wins at Citi will do it. Jeff deserves a sub appearance at the very least but yes, Iglesias is playing out of his skin right now.

Unless Jeff McNeil can come out of the bullpen and give us two scoreless innings... he's not going to see postseason play. And I like him. Maybe if somebody gets injured... otherwise, it's gonna be tough.

Monday night's game, one of the best I've seen 3-0 down in the 8th, turned around 6-3, then 6-7, then in the 9th 8-7, faith placed in Diaz after a dodgy 8th, what a flippin' rollercoaster. I'm full of cold and I didn't need any meds after that crucial win. Sore throat croaking "YES!" and fist pumping. Thanks Mets for making my evening. Great cast Metsters #lgm

Just last year we were all told Mets won't be competitive. Scherzer went and shortly after Verlander too. Enter David Stearns and after a rocky start this season 2023 seems a distant memory. The team can do it. We'll never give up supporting our team. Lindor MVP, Alonso please re-sign, Bader be that rock in CF and the future looks bright for Acuna and Alvarez. C'mon lads ... whatever happens, we're behind you all the way. #LGM

Gary, Keith and Ron are the best commenting on the games but I don't mind the other networks. It's once in a while but yes, it gives the Mets more coverage at this stage of the season. #LGM

Brilliant 'cast UkMetsters. Lets see the team ride to the playoffs. I think they've done brilliantly since London, after a disappointing start. Hope Jeff gets back soon, though that might not happen unfortunately. All the best to Jerome ... what a great guest. Cheers and all the best :)

If Pete sticks around and beats Daryl's HR record, he'll potentially hold on to that record for who knows how long. He's still young enough to easily set a HR record tough to beat. Nice tee-shirt Tor! Did you get that on your travels to Citi? All the best :)

Great 'cast as always. Gelbs has done a great job sitting in for Gary. He can only improve and play-by-play can't be easy against someone who has done it for an entire career. It's probably too late to rest Pete Alonso now, roughly 50-odd games to go and they're going fast. Perhaps sit him for one or two games here and there but I reckon he should continue on. He's reliable on 1st base but maybe a DH game or two to see how others fare. All the best :)
