Webbs Creek Ferry Two Year Time Lapse – Aug 2022 to Dec 2024
TWO YEARS IN THE HAWKESBURY IN ONE MINUTE.
Part 7/8: WEBBS CREEK FERRY
Here is the product of a little project I’ve had bubbling away.
🚦 Live Traffic NSW have automated cameras all over the state, and over eight in the Hawkesbury. I programmed a script to scrape an image from each at around noon for two years (August 2022 - Dec 2024) and compiled the ~700+ images into some time lapses. Hat-tip to Transport for NSW for providing technical help to make these images downloadable.

Hawkesbury Youth Summit 2024 - Opening address
Просмотров 232 месяца назад
Over a quarter of the Hawkesbury's citizens are under 24 years of age. As a teacher, I'm passionate about ensuring their interests, and their opinions, are heard. Council used to hold a Youth Summit every two years, but I was disappointed to find that we have not held one since 2017. A year ago, I bought a motion to Council to re-start holding a Youth Summit and I was delighted that it got unan...
Don't reward poor attendance at Hawkesbury Council
Просмотров 844 месяца назад
Two thirds of Council meetings are held outside the chamber. they include briefings, workshops, roundtables, committees and other functions like citizenship ceremonies. Poor attendance should not be accepted, and some Councillors have a very poor record in this area. I introduced a measure to have this attendance and Councillor expenses reported. It was voted down by the Liberal and Labor Counc...
Number all the squares

When you go to vote, don't fall for the scam where you're encouraged to vote "1" above the line and then stop. Don't squander the power of your vote. You're electing a chamber of 12 people. Number all the squares above the line, starting with GROUP "H".
Who to elect to Hawkesbury Council at this election
Просмотров 2694 месяца назад
In this, my final video message to you before the election, I bring you what I wrote for my editorial appearing in this month's edition of the Hawkesbury Post. It may surprise you to see me spending my time praising others. But I don't just want to get re-elected. I'm upbeat about the possibilities of, (and this is a radical idea I know), electing a team of twelve who actually like each other a...

Hawkesbury Council - Fix the bloody potholes!
So a Smart Meter will track the household movements in real time from the first person that gets up in the morning to what kind of appliances maybe in use right down to the time the last person goes to bed. This is so creepy and overreaching on every level. NO THANKS!
Take the tinfoil hat off and have a lay down. A smart meter does none of those things. It measures how much you use per time of day. It saves you money. It empowers users with data. That’s all.
@@councillornathanzamprogno That's exactly what a lobbies would say.
Wow what a flood at :43
Great! I love this video! 👏👏👏

They don't doing anything when complaints are forwarded to the council. If you get in I hope something positive will happen.
I've done a ball joint, pitman arm and torsion bar on Kurmond road and Grose Vale road, not to mention the uneven wearing of tires and more frequent wheel alignments. Gravel or dirt roads would be preferable to the current debacle, at least then they could run a tipper and grader over them, which would be a hell of a lot quicker.
Thank you very much for this very interesting video presentation which is very much appreciated. It is amazing the impact flooding has, though it maybe nice to have a house next to a river to see and hear the sounds thereof when the weather is fine, it is a different matter during times of flood. People should have a little more wisdom where they site their properties.
We are waiting
Come to class sir
Stop wasting our money building infrastructure in floodzones
Yeah, well your local media is fucking biased so it’s your government buddy
The media is the enemy of the people not the state.
With that "want" list you will never work on any council anywhere.
The paisley shirt has been hanging in his closet for 50 years, WOW
👍👍
Thanks for a great video. I'm in SA...a dry state. Watched another couple of videos made by a local. I had No idea of the scale of these floods.
Agree on most matters, especially developers & high density development. There is also the matter of causation of flooding due to development. The pattern of flooding changes as major developments in the basin are implemented. Can’t agree on raising the dam wall. That would result in the loss of huge tracts of native habitat & Aboriginal history. There is also the problem of mind boggling flooding if (when, going by current development standards) the wall fails. There are other solutions to water supply & flood mitigation issues.
We're doomed. There are powers beyond comprehension that simply will not allow you to have a sustainable approach. This is just a one way win.
Good on you Nathan
A complete McNightMayor
Disingenuous and hypocritical, though that's nothing new from Mayor McMahon.
The captions on this are very inaccurate.
wow, great viewing :)
Election can’t come soon enough. Connolly and the Mayor are the biggest imposters
Did Bruce ever publish his story? I'd love to learn more about 30 squadron and what it did in PNG.
Bruce I am only a young Sprog of 87, fascinating listening to you..... There are a couple of points I would like to raise. a. I understood it was MacArthur who referred to the Chocos(Militia) as Cowards, he had never been to PNG and had NO idea of the atrocious conditions never mind that the Chocos were barely trained Militia. MacArthur was a Pompous Fool who's background was as a Shiny Arse b. You mentioned Super fortresses (B29), I feel you meant Flying Fortress (B17) as the Super Fortress came into the latter part of WW2. c. The Australian Coast watchers generated precise intelligence on the Japs Troop/Ship movements throughout the Pacific Island, the Americans could not believe how accurate the Australian Intelligence was... Midway was Won because the Yanks were given advanced information on the exact Ships/Aircraft Carriers, Troops etc etc plus their Positions. After the Battle if Midway the Admiral i/c the fleet congratulated the Australian Coast Watchers and declared the Intelligence was the Battle Winner.
wow
Very nice timelapse and data
The river has flooded forever. Thats why the farmland is some of the best in the country. The Maquarie Towns were created for a reason, they were smart enough to drop the idea of building on the plains in 1809. Even raising the dam wall will only enlarge the capacity and provide more water security for Sydney. It wont have much effect on downstream flooding coming out of the Nepean, Gross etc. unless as others have mentioned the dam is kept well below capacity to absorb the Cox etc upstream- which wont happen. And yeah I can remember the 15m flood in 78 (1m of rain fell over 6 days) when South Windsor to Penrith across to Schofields and Pitt Town were under water. The water almost reached Woods Rd South Windsor. Richmond Rd was under 10-20' of water - the old houses down there used to be on stilts. So how are you going to stop that? More rezoning and pack them in - hope for the best planning? Shouldn't really be in the Hawkesbury region if you don't understand the river. Much like being in Queensland and being surprised by Cyclones. Richmond Oval is a drainage issue, not a flood issue.
Well done Councillor Zamprogno. What a wonderful thing that Telstra responded so quickly
Its alright to take photos and spruke yourself up but unless something is done you might as well sit in Templeman's Office and do nothing with her.
Not possible to stop flooding, only dimminish it by opening warra gates 2 week's early !!
Please, could you live stream the North Richmond Bridge flood update today? This bridge will open this affternoon? Thank you.
Vote for me and I will stop flooding!
When is someone going to realise what Governor Macquarie acknowledged back in the 1850's - building in a floodplain creates huge risks and challenges. Not only do we not have serviceable bridges in Yarramundi and North Richmond, we lack other infrastructure to deal with fires and increasingly frequent weather events and developers are still being given rein to bring in more and more people into an already pressure situation! And yet, the neighbouring Council of the Blue Mountains continues to argue against raising the dam wall. Something has to change soon. It's the same communities that are being compelled to deal with policy failures and you have to wonder how long it will be before insurance companies just refuse to cover the risk!
Gov Mac 1810- 1822, even more wise than you thought.
Thanks for posting. I'm stuck on the other side of the North Richmond bridge so I can't check it out. Another god-awful mess to clean up, at Richmond, by the looks of it. It looks like I can get across via Windsor Bridge, so thanks for this info. I need to go to Bunnings because water has poured through my ceiling and ruined it. I gather most of this was caused by the failure to modify the Warragamba Dam spill-way so it has over-flowed again. This is Chris Minn's mess. Most of the over-flow should have been released in increments, instead, we cop a deluge. The water could otherwise, perhaps, be re-directed to the Penrith/Cranebrook lakes projects where it could have added to the lakes and been stored for the next drought. Apparently they won't do that, either.
You are so misinformed it is hilarious !! It is impossible to add more Load to warragambas wall ageing aging
Penrith Lakes is a puddle compared to Warragambas flow rate!!!! Have another thought bubble!!
Thanks Nathan. I'm glad someone is recording this.
great video 👍
"Real progress cannot be measured by money alone. We must ensure that economic growth contributes to our quality of life, rather than degrading it" ~ Tony Blair
Can you please help with roads at North Richmond? Grose Vale Road is horrendous and down right dangerous.
Agree, keep these videos coming!
I agree mostly with your sentiment here. Unfortunately without the record immigration, what else is going to prop up the ponzi scheme that is the economy in Australia? The new draft Hawkesbury-Nepean flood strategy is only going to make housing matters worse for both new arrivals & existing residents, with the proposal that all dwellings under 30M AHD be unsuitable for development/re-development! Ridiculous! That will decimate the land values of nearly all of Bligh Park, South Windsor, Riverstone, McGraths Hill not to mention make insurance near impossible to obtain. I look forward to your commentary on this issue also.
Thanks Nathan. Look forward to participating. BTW, your production values have gone up exponentially. Great video.
Lost me when you referred to Bob Carr what a joke of a politician
this man was a teacher for richmond high school and racially targeted black and brown people he has repetitively said the n word to a class he is just a horrible man even all the fellow teachers he has worked with dislike him
Absolutely spot on. Councillor, I live (Mortaged) on a duplex in Bligh Park - my share of the block is 333 sqm. Can you please shed some light on why my rates are $670 a qtr. My mother in law in Baulkham Hills - on a 800+ sqm block pays half this. Why are my rates this high?
