It should take around 5-6 hours roundtrip if you're starting in the center of town.

It's not really as humid compared to Panama City or the lowlands. The best times to visit Santa Fe are between December-March.

hmmm as far as I know, I haven't heard any stories about jaguars up there or in El Valle, which I confirmed with my friends there. I know there are definitely jaguars in the Darien, La Amistad (at the Costa Rica border) and in Veraguas (at Santa Fe and Cerro Hoya National Parks)

@@NateMeetsWorld yea ive seen black jaguars and stripd ones in darien when i went in a tour back in 2014 last time went to panama was 2018 to coiba for a re search diving but well if theres nothing in el valle thats weird that my guide told me that tigrillo is not same as jaguar right?

I did it by myself hence why I got a bit lost but the locals in Xeo and Cotzal were friendly. They have food and lodging available for hikers passing through the area.

@@NateMeetsWorld yes we did it with group however I couldn’t keep up. Of all days my legs was cramping and foot was hurting but one of the guides was very supportive and he stuck it out with me and allow me to make the journey slowly but surely all the way through.

I saw lots of birds and little lizards and other reptiles. I also hiked Monteverde in the rain so it's probably why I didn't see as much.
