No Limits track day in the fast group at the Rockingham National circuit on the 17th June 2012. Riding a Triumph Daytona 675 with a arrow end can. A nice quite day with not too many riders, but the weather was a bit on off so on had two fully dry sessions.

Brake failure at 110 mph, going into the Melbourne hairpin at Donington Park. Lever came all the way back to the bar. Usually hadve my Arrow end can fitted, but had to fit the OE can to meet the Donington noise limits. fail

Haha please tell me the Speedo was measuring you and not the bike and that at the end with bike on its side it was still measuring your speed traveling through the air....

The camera is a Contour HD. Its old now, only 720p but a 1080p is now available. My mate has a 1080p one and the picture is even better. The data logger is Racechrono which is a free bit of software available on android phones. The dash board is created through Racechrono2AVI on my PC.

Great vid. What camera/data logging system are you using.

Great reaction there slowing the bike as much as possible, it's hard to think properly when the pedal/lever goes straight to the floor with zero braking.

You don't need to buy anthing, other than video editing software or get a free version. You need is to look for a website called racechrono. They do a free mobile phone laptimer for android or the older symbian phones. It works best with a +5hz gps bluetooth reciever. You then need an additional program called racechrono2avi. There is a link on the racechrono website. You take the GPS lap data from the phone and create a video file, which you overlay onto the video using a video editing program.

Tough going....great fun Rockingham....the corners especially the hairpin are hard to get spot-on.

There would be no point down shifting, If you listen to the sound you can here the back wheel chirping away, it was on the limit of grip and on one occasion slightly over it. The only thing I could of done better would be to be perfectly upright when I hit the grass. Still don't know why they have failed. No leaks visible and tried to rebleed them with no success, so I've got a shiny set of Brembo monoblocks and RCS lever. Far too good for me.

re-watching, he got down to 60 before hitting the edge of the track, nice

doubtful, he would have found out at a late braking point, back brake + downshifting would have and probably did knock some speed off, but you'd still hit the gravel going fast :( glad the rider seems to be ok, sorry about the bike :(

If you had thought quick enough, could you have downshifted to slow the bike down and bring it to a better stop?

Sorry to see that. Any idea why they failed?

The bikes is a Triumph daytona 675. It was actually running the standard end can due to it being a quite day.
