This was my first year in high school band. I’m now in my 11th year of teaching hs band
Fun fact! The “hunting” cartoon march started as a joke, but Schuessler loved it so it stayed.
Can you post Carmel from this year?
Wow!! Marian Catholic won Grand Nationals that year, but didn’t take visual in Finals. Didn’t realize that until now. 😮
Probably my favorite closing hit from my 4 years.
Seeing this show was quite an experience for me as a freshman in highschool. Utterly blew my mind.
Bro same. Me and the boys were like "OMG it's like Final Fantasy 8!"
I miss the days that northmont was all about death
9:23 the most badass throat slash in the history of throat slashes
Still love this show all these years later! All the way from Texas!
Anyone know where to find LC 2000?
Omg yes!!!!!
I was a part of the Marian 2005 Remix Edition of this show, but I like the 2001 version a lot too. Both completely different nature of the times and show meanings of course.
2001 should have won the whole thing.. if only they could have used the 2005 concept. - Joe, Marian Fan.
Insane drill demand. INSANE.
Ngl, Marian Catholic is what got me into Christopher Rouse
Wow! The design and arrangement is really cool and game changing for the times. In many ways, there was marching band before Center Grove 1995 and marching band after Center Grove 1995. Having said that, I guess the old adage "never meet your idols," is true! lol I'm from Indiana, and I remember this show vaguely from back in the 90s and remember it as something ungodly. But watching this now, I can see that the performance was really really not good. The horn line was a mess. Timing was all over the place. The color guard poorly staged. Musically, they should have been 10th place and overall maybe 4th. Even general effects was affected for me by the bad performance. Hate to say it, as a fellow Hoosier, but Westfield was robbed. :(
The guard carried this program for years and this was the pinnacle of it. They were amazing
I'm glad I'm not the only one who hears the strident sound from the brass. I was a brass tech for Etiwanda that year and if our brass had sounded like that Don J. would have taken me out to the lot and beat the crap out of me. The brittle brash sound is just a turn off and shocking coming from such an elite program. The design is obviously fantastic (especially for it's time) but musically it just doesn't do it for me.
Loved CG’s ‘95 show. Our daughter was a sophomore that year and I was the lead Dad on the Pit Crew. Getting three tarps, about 15 flats and that 60’ ramp set up in under 3 minutes and clearing the field in 56 seconds was amazing. The entire band was fantastic.
Ahhhhh those were the days! Beautiful
What a killer performance, Ironic because of the name.
Hello from the Avon Ohio band :) We always looked forward to watching you guys
19.7 in visual performance in finals, highest score at GNats ever
This was my sophomore year at Reagan hs. I remember watching them (ld bell) perform before us at regionals and was super intimidated by that beautiful opener.
LD Bell faculty CLEARLY enjoyed DCI shows that year...
Love this show!
Any chance you have either Carmel 99 or 00? Been looking everywhere
Hey who this? I marched tuba 99-2001.
@@mandd811 dude, it's Conor Mulcrone. Small world.
@@n00nen0se HOLY CRAP! Conor! How have you been. What is it ... 20 years... eww we are so old.
My freshman year. It was so exciting this brought back memories thank you for sharing
One of the great high school marching band legacies. Mr. G. Bimm is a legend!
The earlier season arrangement with the longer sustained hit during Adagio is still my favorite. Wish I still had a copy of one of those performances.
I start my L.D. Bell marching season this year :) I’m exited
Go TROJANS!
The beginning sounds so shit, but in reality this is so advanced it's not even funny.
One of the best guards ever!
I'd say their 1997 guard takes the cake though!
Thanks for sharing this... there is an epic shot of me running from the Bell chimes to the hand symbols just after 40s that shows off the amazing bowl cut I had at that time.
This show took Avon to the next level, it let everyone know they were going to be a contender and in the top tier of BOA.
It really was
Love Marian Catholic. I love how they always wear roses on finals night!
Still have all four of mine ❤️
Thank you so much for this
Amazing
Was your show this year just a remake of this one? It seems eerily similar
Just like Lassiter 1998-2001
Evan Seidel we also added a tuba solo at 1:59 from sensamaya
A game changing show back in the 90’s. From the staging to the music and choreography. Set a new bar. Should have won in 96 and 97 as well.
I will disagree with you on 96 and 97. Lake Park was dominant wire to wire in 1996 and Marian Catholic won in 1997 by more than one whole point.
@@donnix768 I rewatched the shows and I agree with you as well. Lake Park’s 90’s sound on the field was just UNREAL.
@@bdfan4ever Yes, Lake Park was one of the most underrated bands in their day. The 1996 Italian opera show was incredible, vesti la giuba , pique dame, tarantella and la danza. I got to watch it in national finals from the back side(I was with Marian Catholic from 1996-2000) and remember how brilliantly clean it was. If not for Spring High School in 1993(best high school show ever)they would have won nationals that year, they placed second. Center Grove was a game changer though , they had an unbelievable run from 1995-1999 where they finished 1st,2nd,2nd,3rd, and 2nd consecutively. Wonderful visual program.
@@donnix768 I’ll say, IMO, that the greatest 90’s marching band show was PCEP 1999. That show is just unbelievable.
Yessss!! I’ve been searching for this lol don’t even live in Texas and this is my all time favorite high school performance
i actually prefer these early 2000's LD Bell shows more than the late 2000 ones. They were such a well rounded, powerful and technically proficient band. The early shows really showcased not only how well they could play, but also how well they could move. Almost 20 years later, and this visual package is still better than what most TX bands out out today....
Agreed. The late 90's and early 00's LD Bell bands were machines. They used Mark Higginbotham arrangements starting in the late 90's and Wes Cartwright joined somewhere in 01-02 while he was also working with Tulsa Union and then Broken Arrow. This Barber show was just a perfect fit for LDB at that time. It's one of my all-time favs. Like I said, those kids were machines. The marching technique was impeccable and at such a high tempo.
Thank you for uploading! One of my favorites. Do you by chance have Center Grove 2002, and Carmel 2001?!
