Cedell Big G Davis Basic Boogie
Cedell came up to Boston in 83 and we recorded a range of his music - this little lesson on the basics in our little space up a long flight of narrow stairs - a challenge for Big G indeed, but he played some of the real stuff

We had some cool visual jam sessions in the early 80s with Dan Yagusic and Doug Bergeron and their Apple IIe computers and Video/Visuals' video gear - we tried a show on cable with some of the stuff we did and this was our opening

MANDALA created by Dan Yagusic, Doug Bergeron and Bob Lewis. Doug and Dan were early fractal fans, and had worked on a program for their Apple IIe computers that could create circular, lisajous and other mathamatical shapes, which could be controlled with keystrokes. We had many long sessions in the early 80's. at my Chapel Street studio, combining the Apple images shot off monitors with video ...
J Geils Band 'So Sharp' 1972 Encore @ Boston's Orpheum Theatre
Просмотров 94 тыс.10 лет назад
Another tune from the legendary J.Geils Band 1972 show at Boston's Orpheum Theatre on Washington Street - 3 Sony B&W cameras and a switcher - terrible technology but driving music - George Wardwell gets the credit for making this happen - Charles Phillips, Andrika Donovan operated cameras and I switched. Peter Gowan and Barry Ober engineered sound - this clip is from the 1" original, transferre...
Boston was a great town folks great music everywhere
The Woofa Doofa
Sounds like Peter was nursing a cold that night or too much coke before the show😮
Great, I mean REALLY great band!
Les Paul straight into a Marshall with the old coiley cord.
Saw them backstage at the Academy of Music in NYC....blew my mind the speed and accuracy with which they played....rock and roll at its best
The drummer is amazing.
Who is this Nut job ?
Great venue for a concert
Good times
Nobody rocked the house like the JGB.

Yeppers! No denying a true , get the party started band 🎸 i I was 20 , walking into the mall, a place called Music Land had this playing when I walked in! I talked to Leo, a party dude I knew, he was a cashier, Let me guess Mike, you want this L.P.! We went into the back of the store and drank J.C. tequila! Got the LP free ! I bought every J. Giles Band that was released from then until I forgot when!! Almost 72 now and I still drink to that + other great bands but drink has changed to Fire Ball! Ya know! Old enough to know better but young enough to do it again! 🥃🤩, I'm still waiting for the old enough to know better kick in🎸😃
A sad Cu te kurche prijavit za mobing!!!!
To je to mali kurac od ovce!!!
Quelle horreur. This bought back bad memories of the 1970s listening to J Geils and having too much fun.
About half of us have one, I have one, however mine is not magic.
I.U. at Purdue basketball.
Was a kid growing up in Detroit nothing like geils tearing up cobo in the late 70s Greatest live band ever 💙
I always thought they were from Detroit till years later they played there so much. I seen them at the Eastown in 71. Then at Cobo at the very back wall Tier C :-)

Great video.... except for the obnoxious MC
I was a youngster I was exposed to weed n brewskies to at 8 yrs., These dudes n the blood shot album is so freakin cool n is great live jams.,..peace out,
Master Blaster, he don't lie. Set it up, and let's Go. Yeah, the leslie is talkin' to the Wolf & Geils. "Yeah, you don't have to go right home; you can go somewhere else and hang out, hash it out..." "Okay, man. Thanks."
Imagine only just now seeing this shit for the 1st time and then only because " Joe fuckin' Rogan " or " Spongebob Squarepants " sent ya' here ? - I'd be rippin' , tear ass mad !
Did SpongeBob mention JGB?
Saw them in Tampa 1972 and nine more times. Best live band ever. Should be in the R n R Hall of Fame!!
The songs are markedly inferior, and really so are the vocals.
Saw them in Miami on that tour. That stage was smoking 🔥
Leave it to J.Geils to cover a song by Dyke & The Blazers!
Props to Arlester Christian. Good version.
A good video, ruined.
Ubadubagabaluba!
find a left handed woman, so sharp
A good listener
I was lucky enough to be a teen in 72 in Boston and saw Geils Band many times, They were the permanent opening act at the Tea Party which for awhile was as good as the Fillmore ever was. I saw Elton John's first concert in the US there, plus Rod Stewart and Small faces, Paul Butterfield, James Gang, Mott the Hoople, The Band, John Mayall and others I can't remember but most of the time J Geils was the opening act and they were TIGHT. They went on to be one of the hottest rock n blues bands and then hit the pop charts. They could have been "The Next Stones" except Jagger and Richards seduces Wolf over to their world and Wolf never really went back to work after the early 80's. I met Seth Justman 5 years ago and he is a nice mellow jewish guy, short hair. But in those days, look at the photos, they walked the walk of the baddest asses in town.
Whoever is conducting the interview is talking to much I want to hear the captain .
Saw him perform twice and talked to him once. Very real. Most real blues I ever heard and he was passionate about what he did.
I met him in Butlins bognor when I was a kid
Love Ray end of,you hippie twat (joke). One of the most underrated guitarist's a fact.
To this day still one of my all-time favorite bands !!! These fuckin guys knew how to do it right!
The very best rockin blues band ever. Why the hell are they not in the hall of fame? Please vote for them the next time they come up. They should have been in years ago. I never missed them when the came to Cleveland ,Ohio.
I think their song-writing was somewhat weak and that held them back. I mean, you don't typically go around humming a J.Geils Band tune like you would a song by the great bands of the era, or any era.
@@sheilamacdougal4874 You ARE A FOOL this BAND FILLED STADIUMS AND SOLD OUT. The audience would stand in the rows and dance the whole concert. A duh a duh. I know every song by this band, and I learned how to play the harmonica because of Magic Dick. Best rocking blues band ever. You make me sick.
@@sheilamacdougal4874 Yes I do go around humming and singing their music. Sorry you do not know what great music sounds like. I bet you like boy bands and rap. Sorry crap.
@@richardtaylor8595 I guess you need personal insults when you're weak on arguments. I'm comparing their song writing to genre peers, both blues-based or blues-influenced rock (Stones, Cream, Joplin, CCR) as well as R&B and soul: Otis, Wilson Pickett, Aretha, etc. and even groups like the Young Rascals, whose song-writing was more memorable. Wolf's vocals also leave something to be desired in my opinion, but feel free to insult some more in response.
A master adaptation
Why is wolf man wearing a dress??
