The local market, usually held every Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 at Avenida El Varadero in Puerto del Carmen, is currently closed. It seems that the market was suspended because the concession company missed some payments, leading the Tías City Council to end their contract.

Thanks! It was definitely windy yesterday, with gusts over 40 mph (9 Beaufort) at the airport. The wind was coming from the north, but the Matagorda promenade was more sheltered compared to the airport area. You’ll really get to see how strong it was in the upcoming airport video, the pilots showed great skill handling the strong wind ✈️😅

Indeed, the wind is much lighter today on the island! Looks like there won’t be any more inflatable unicorn 'UFOs' taking off from the beach. Enjoy the calmer weather ☀️
