Bearded Death Cookies Post-Thanksgiving Ride. Interlake, IN single track.
Nat, Matt, and myself ride Interlake, IN single track after Thanksgiving. Just the two stroke branch of the BDC for this ride. Very cold, muddy, and a great time! Matt lost the nut that holds the kickstart lever on his KDX. Nat was kind enough to pack it for him when needed.

Trail 1B is new at Highland Park. A portion is 5 diamond and the other is 3 diamond. We are riding the 5 diamond sections. It was very dusty the day were rode 1B, so some of it is hard to see. The fact that is was a brand new trail means most of the 5 diamond stuff has zero ledge on the off camper sections. Throttle control is key to staying on the trail and moving forward. Ryan is leading on t...

Trail 14 has a really nasty climb in the middle. Ruts, roots, lots of rock, steep and long. It has many names........ It haunts and laughs at you. Best to not look it in the eye. Just hope your line, speed, and throttle control will be enough to make it.

This is the "new" trail 10A. In conversation with the gentleman who makes and maintains the trail at Highland Park, he is in the process of making 10B, and likely a 10C in the next year or so. 10A is the longest 5 diamond trail at HPR. It is all off camber, with plenty of roots, ruts, rock, and tricky spots. Really dusty though. Like 36A, it's is unforgiving of error. But, a great trail! Can't ...

Trail 4 is a nice single track 4 diamond trail. It was pretty dusty when we were there (as you can see). It's near the end of the trail system at Highland Park and is a good "finishing" trail before heading back for lunch/dinner.

8B is 3 diamond single track. It's fast and flowing. Some annoying mud holes. Some ruts as well. The Beast fouled a plug as we were going around one of the deep mud holes. Had to take a break to swap the plug. Fun trail to connect to some of the other more difficult single track.

      The factory Ducati ignition failed. I found a good used complete ignition off a Husqvarna CR250 on eBay. The CR ignition was japanese and after replacing the pickup, I had no other trouble.

      Ducati ignition failed but didn't have kick back issues, just weak/no spark. Added the Husky CR250 Kokusan ignition with a flywheel weight. Pickup was faulty. Replaced the pickup with a new one in the vid. Road it like that until I sold it.

    The 125 and 390 bikes weren’t available and not at the Demo ride. In my opinion after riding these Betas… The 2-stroke engines 1. 250 RR, 2. 200RR, 3. 300 RR, and 4. 300 X-trainer. Beta strayed from the magical 72mm x 72mm bore and stroke every other 300cc enduro two stroke has used forever and it shows. The power delivery on the 300 RR was higher in the RPM than expected. Also, the X-Trainer missed several shifts at higher RPM for some reason. 4-Stroke engines 430 RR by far was the best. The 480 RR not what I expected out of a big 4T. Suspension - 1. 430 Race Edition, 2. 200 Race Edition, 3. Every RR with the ZF Sach’s stuff (valving was not plush), 4. The X-Trainer (rode low in the travel and wallowed, deflected, and wouldn’t stay on line or track in ruts as well as the rest of the Betas).

      Good question…. I’m not sure exactly where it is located. I know it’s in the northwest corner-ish of Turkey Bay. The two guys I’m riding with go there more often. One of the guys (Nic) had only found it once before. I honestly don’t know if I could find it again without following someone to it.

    What did you have to do to make your engine hold up to that amount of boost pressure from what ive heard the 6.9 can only handle about 12 psi of boost im just wondering because id like to get my turbocharged 6.9 up to those numbers nice gauge pod by the way.

    • @hesutton
      @hesutton 8 лет назад

      ARP head studs and Mahle reduced compression height pistons (0.010 less than stock). I would have keep stock compression pistons if I didn't have 7 thousands taken off the block decks to get them true. But with machined block decks, I needed the lower piston extrusion to keep adequate clearance between the pistons and valves.

    I am curious as to what pillar gauge pod did you use? Did you have to modify it all? Where did you get it?

    • @hesutton
      @hesutton 9 лет назад

      bigbird189 Its a pod for a 92-97 F-series. I had to cut the top and bottom off a bit to make it work on my A-pillar. No one makes a three gauge pod for the 83-86 rigs.
