9:23 thank you for sharing and being vulnerable. No one ever has their character much less their lives pegged down when they graduate high school. I’m 42 and I’m convinced of that. The fact that you understand that people are “liquid” is wonderful because as you get older you will see yourself change. Change is just a consistent part of life. Things that made me “comfortable” in my 20’s no longer cut it for me in my 40’s. And I suppose that as I get older what works now will not work when I’m in my 60’s. The point is to remain fluid and adjust accordingly. This is great introspection! Keep it up! ❤

If you are interested in more travel journals, then maybe you could find one by Carl Gustaf Mannerheim, a Finnish officer (later the President of Finland) who served in the Russian Imperial Army for 30 years and travelled through China on horseback from 1906 to 1908 to collect military intelligence though the journey was disguised as an ethnographic and natural science expedition. The travel diary has been translated into English as "Across Asia from West to East in 1906-1908" and apparently contains a lot of photos, as well. According to some reviews there seems to be a quite a lot about the journey also in a biography about him by Jonathan Clements called "Mannerheim: President, Soldier, Spy", if that is easier to find. But if those are difficult to find or too expensive then there are some info and photos online, as well. Also Eric Enno Tamm did the same journey himself a century later and wrote a book about it called "The Horse that Leaps Through Clouds: A Tale of Espionage, the Silk Road, and the Rise of Modern China".

i've had Underland sitting in my TBR all year, this must be my sign to finally crack it open! i've also been thinking of starting a notebook wholely about the concept of 'environment' which would tie in nicely. thank you for the inspo, can't wait to see how yours turns out!

When I first saw the Passport Traveller's Notebook, the first thing I thought of was Indiana Jones' dad's notebook in Last Crusade, lol. That was more of a commonplace book, holding all of his research.

your journal key holder kanji. 信州 refers to the old name for what is now Nagano Prefecture in Japan. 善光寺　is the famous temple known as a place everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime, which is my Dads hometown. we visit there every time we go to nagano. hope you do when you get a chance🥰

Your journaling style, and even handwriting, looks quite a lot like mine. I love how you talk about life and philosophy in such depth in a video about journals.
