90 Day Challenge! Improving both my Mental and Physical Health
My 90 Day Challenge....started on December 1st. Since my wife's diagnosis of stage 4 cancer in December of 2020 I have gained around 35 pounds. This is a result of a combination of many factors, such as as, not being as active, as Cheryl and I cut back on working in our client's gardens. She wanted to keep working after her terminal diagnosis, as she said "what am I supposed to do, just sit home and wait to die".
I also continued to make poor choices in eating. I've been a vegetarian for 24 years and I had been eating a healthy diet and have only drank water for those same 24 years. Side note: Some people don't like green beans and I have never enjoyed the taste of of beer, coffee or wine...

Test Drive of DJI Neo and My Catrike 559
Просмотров 623 месяца назад
I purchased the @DJI Neo for use while out riding my mountain bike or my recumbent trike and hiking the great trails here in Wisconsin. My first attempt did not work well because I had a flag on the back of my recumbent. After removing the flag the Neo tracked my Catrike much better. I also used the DJI 2 wireless mic system for outstanding audio
Drone Flight over the Milwaukee River in Saukville

This was the first flight of my @DJI Mini 4 Pro with a Circular Polarizing Filter. I was flying at about 110' and the Milwaukee River below is around 3" deep in this section depending on seasonal rain fall. The water is always crystal clear with the exception of after a large rain event and water is running into the river from adjacent water shed.

Bearskin Trail is Peaceful and Beautiful
Просмотров 565 месяцев назад
I rode the Bearskin Trail which runs from Minocqua WI south for 18.4 miles. This is one of the most interesting rides I have done in Wisconsin because of the 13 trestles and constant views of rivers, streams and wetlands. The surface is a crushed gravel and the only time you may not want to ride is after a very heavy rainfall because you may experience a couple of wet spots in the low lying sec...
A Brooks B67 Leather Saddle on a Trek Mountain Bike?
Просмотров 6105 месяцев назад
I love this Trek Marlin 8 Mountain Bike but I didn't like the stock seat, and the VSEAT which I had used on other Trek bikes just didn't work with the geometry of this Trek bike. SOOOOO....I switched to A Brooks classic leather saddle. I really don't ride single track much and at 69 years old, I am really just looking for a comfortable and well designed bike. I'll let you know in future videos ...

I only ride on bike trails and not on public roads, so your setup will vary depending on where you ride and the accessories important to you. Please share your thoughts, comments or questions. Seat? Didn’t see a link in the video description.
Just a FYI if your rack in bolted where the fender bolts in the A-Arm change it ASAP!!!..3-4 months ago my rack on my 559 ripped that bolt out when I was on the local bike trail..Get some Accessory Mount Clamps from TerraCycle and move it down to the upper bars on the A-Arm..I learned the hard way and dont want to see anyone else learning it that way
Now this puts me in the Winter/ Holiday Spirit....Great drone footage Glenn and love the choice of music.
well done! thanks for sharing!
Thank you....I intend to get up there this fall and ride the trail again.....so peaceful
I’m interested to see how you do with this setup. Following
So far it seems very comfortable. I will be doing a follow up video after a hundred miles or so.
New sub & hit 🔔. Looking at the 559 and Dumont. Great videos. 🍻 Really liked the mansion build - much more to watch.
My wife has a Dumont and I’ve got a 559. E wanted her to be comfortable during her journey with stage 4 cancer. With that being said, I have added Big Apple Schwabe tires to my 559 and running at 37 psi it rides smoother than my wife’s Dumont. I also run them at 60 for less rolling resistance. Great trike no challenges
Your Terra Trike head rest, how much better is it over the Catrike headrest. I’m thinking of switching my headrest out for something that will better dampen road vibration. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
No comparison. The Catrike neck rest is like a hockey puck. This is a Terra Cycle neck rest not Terra Trike. Hope that helps
Sir, so sorry for your loss. Triking is awesome.
very beautiful
Beautiful flat Earth.
Noooooo. Let them goto seed and piss off the whole neighborhood. But the kittys will love you😊
If you make another video could you use your hand tool again. And spell that name. Or include a link to buy that product.😊
Thanks for watching and yes I will be talking about the tools I use in an upcoming video including the one mentioned in this video.
Chive on😂😂
Could you explain how you put your boxes together please 😊
thank you for your comment. I will be adding a longer video to my regular channel in coming weeks in regard to how I built those raised planters.
@@gettingdirtywithglenn thank you
Great video! Way to get out and put out a video. I just bought the dji osmi action 3. Ill be using it for biking videos as well. Keep the videos coming! the Mic is really nice. ill have to invest in one of those. Ive been doing yt videos for a couple years.. tryign to get more serious now. some advice i would give you is this: - Your thumbnail is awesome, id say the video quality isnt what i would expect for this camera, it may be just an uploading issue though idk. Also, the 'story' / 'follow along' format is great. keep doing that! One more thing, when i came to this video, i expected to see more of the the OA 4 camera specifically. If you had done more of that, it would make this video even better. also showing your bike a bit too would be cool
Thank you for the comments. After watching the upload and while editing it I agree with your comments. First time using the camera I may not have had the resolution set up to 4k. I love story telling and have been doing that for years in various formats. I guess my intention when I shot this was more about the results, than how I mounted the camera and my bike. That ride was really an impromptu ride based on a very sunny and warm day here in Southeast Wisconsin. Once again thanks for the comments and I will attempt to share more info in my next videos. I will be sharing lots of tech "stuff" and how I use it, just not the real deep tech info on each camera because other people do that so well. I use a Pocket 3, Osmo Action 4, my iPhone 15 Pro, several GoPros and I am a FAA Certified Part 107 Drone Pilot with a Skydio 2 and DJI Mini 4.....Once again thanks for you great insights and sharing your thoughts.
I just checked my editing soft ware and that was saved at 1080P :). Got that fixed now.....thanks!
So sorry about your loss.
What the battery life like? Gone dead on you?
The battery life is good and I find the auto setting for assist seems to be effective in managing the battery. Of course battery life depends on so many variables there is no single answer. I will be getting the Bosch Power More external battery which will extend the battery life about 60% they say. I have had several e-bikes and love this one the best. The motor is silent and the Bosch app turns your iPhone into a great dashboard while riding. I will be posting a video on that in the coming weeks. Thanks for watching!
Those handlebars 😅
The challenge of having a long upper body 😂. It is extremely comfortable to ride………

Do you have buddleia? If so, how and when do you prune it?
I do not have Butterfly Bushes in my own garden, however, I have planted several in my client's gardens. I wait until late winter, early spring with Butterfly Bushes, just before or as they are breaking bud. I prune them down to about 8"-15" tall and then thin out all of the dead or old wood and any crossing/rubbing branches. Then for the next few years you can simply take 1/3 of the oldest branches out to keep the plant growing vigorously or simply do another rejuvenation pruning as needed in a year or two. In upcoming weeks/months I will be creating several pruning videos for this channel. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! This was such a detailed explanation, and I really appreciate it. I am subscribing! @@gettingdirtywithglenn

Glenn, what zone are you ?
Hi Katherine. Well, in 2012 Grafton Wisconsin was considered 5b and the 2023 USDA Hardiness Zone Map lists this area as 5b-6a. To complicate things even more, I live within 2 miles of Lake Michigan, in fact I can Lake Michigan from my home. This obviously large body of water plays into our weather each and every day. A rain storm could come ripping across Wisconsin and I gets within ten miles of the lake and the lake says.....not today :). And I have clients whose homes are right on the lake and their plans have been as much as 6 weeks behind mine. The biggest temp difference has been I left a client's home on the lake and the temp was 50 degrees and when I got home the temp was 85. So it is important to be aware of the micro climates within a zone and even on your own property. The south side of your home is a different climate for your plants than the northeast side of your home. Hope that answers your question! Thanks for watching.
@@gettingdirtywithglenn yes perfectly, thank you
What do you spray to keep the critters off your plants?
I use Liquid Fence and another product called Deer Off. I apply them in early spring when perennials are first emerging to protect them from rabbits and to ornamental shrubs as their leaves emerge. Then again in mid season and late fall. Then another application to ornamental shrubs after they have lost their leaves to protect the thin, nutrient rich bark from mice. I usually apply another round mid to late winter for the same reasons. Seem like a lot but it really is only 1-2 gallons each time. The best product I use for insect control is Mirimichi Green Insect Control. All natural and works fantastically. I will be creating a video on that product this spring. Thanks for the question.
@@gettingdirtywithglennThank you so much for replying. We have a big problem with deer, and then there are the rabbits, chipmunks and ground hogs...The joys of living in the country....
