Short manual showing how to convert the Actus-B into an Actus-G. When the initial Actus (now called Actus-B) was introduced 24x36mm was the largest sensor used in Mirrorless cameras. A few years later, Hasselblad and Fujifilm both introduced their 33x44mm systems. The larger sensor requires a larger bayonet diameter which does not fit onto the Actus-B's rear standard. Hence the introduction of ...

    Want to get one of these for my GFX 100 II. I’m assuming the answer is no, but since I still shoot some film, is there any way to configure the Actus to work with a film back?

    You use 90mm lens and distance between lens and Sensor is at about 20cm. I try to add Sony mirrorless to Cambo SF but I cant focus with lenses shorter then 135mm Schneider- Kreuznach Angulons and Super Angulons... and there is no gap between standards... Do I something wrong?

    • @cambofotografischeindustri3415
      @cambofotografischeindustri3415 19 дней назад

      The 90mm lens here is used on a tech cam that was purpose built for digtial use and it's paired with a digital back instead of a mirrorless camera. This gives a broader lens choice. An SF or other 4x5 camera with a Mirrorless attached at a Graflock adapter of some sort will never be suitable for use with shorter focal lengths. It's a budget solution, it can work fine for some applications, but is has its limitations.

    great explanation of the Actus B and G systems, but, can you describe and show the actus MV camera, as some of us are coming from the LF side, not the mirrorless end of photography, and are interested in that model, it's capabilities, sensor backs you can attach, and if they are still film holder compatible like the 23D of which I understand the MV platform was based off, or just digital only. Also is the 23D still made, or a film system view camera still made by cambo?

    • @cambofotografischeindustri3415

      The Actus-MV has its own video. We prefer not to integrate it in this one, since it is a completely different camera. The distinctions between Actus-B, -G and G990D are rather subtle and could do with some clarification. The Actus-MV is ruclips.net/video/GIyhKimzcaI/видео.htmlsi=5_YfVZh8xPR8SJj3

      Another addition to your comment, because of this phrase: "like the 23D of which I understand the MV platform was based off". The Actus-MV is definitely not based on the Ultima. It's the Actus-XL which is basically an Ultima base accepting the Actus accessories and bayonets. When we developed the MV we wanted to create a camera that takes all sensor sizes (M43 upto 40 x 54mm) but we forwent on the adaptability to sheet film. It would make the camera unnecessary big for other applications. We can still supply a camera for analogue photography, but it's not the Actus-MV.

    an idea, how about doing an unboxing of the Cambo XL with Juul doing it?, so we see how it was assembled, and how to do a shot, add flash, etc. would be really informative, and a great addition to the cambo website, some instruction videos with real application examples. or a comparison between the Cambo actus products on the same shot.

    a great teaser, just wished you had gone into more details on how to, and not just done one episode on one topic, and I don't find this appetising, I prefer FILM instead, give me a SINAR P2 or F2 with a 4x5" sheet of film, or a 120 roll film back, THEN we are talking LF, the real LF, not 33x44mm like the digital backs produce.

    I would like to highlight to you guys that the only thing currently stopping me from investing in this system is the lack of a non-leather bellows option. Some of us do not want to purchase animal products and it's a shame to not have an alternative available. great video, but there is not much around the Actus XL or MV models (the Ultima monorail replacement); the "TVCM" series is a quick technique based video, but can you do one showing "out of the box", how to assemble, affix lenses, backs, what adaptors to choose; some photographers out there are more used to the LF monorail or Field camera design, in Analogue style, so switching to a digital version would be a good compromise, but all RUclips content (NOT yours, aka cambo, and dealers) shows the "prosumer" actus systems, based on mirrorless Sony, etc., or Dslr systems, some enthusiasts, or semi-pro photographers have digital backs, or just want an analogue system feel, with big knobs, like the Ultima system, simple, big, and can take any lens (on a lens board),without complex adaptors, or electronic everything.

    • @cambofotografischeindustri3415
      @cambofotografischeindustri3415 8 месяцев назад

      Thank you for your remarks. One of the good things about the Actus-MV is actually that you won't need a how-to about adapting it from one format to another. When the MV was designed, one of the criteria was that all cameras and backs need to fit without adding spacers. You change the bayonet holder for a square DB frame and that's it. Would make a pretty short video. Nevertheless, it may be worth doing it. This video was published shortly after the Actus-MV's introduction ruclips.net/video/GIyhKimzcaI/видео.htmlsi=I9F5wAtfhjuF0MTY

      @@cambofotografischeindustri3415 thanks, I get that, but I also mentioned the XL, the ultima lookalike, which has not much about it, maybe due to it being so like the ultima, but what I meant was that video shows a basic intro, but not enough closeup details, ie, like some RUclips videos, a new one straight out the box, showing how it goes together; it may look simple (PS, I also have Autism), but not knowing which backs, etc are compatible, what adaptors are used, also you say no spacers are needed, but how does it come in the box, do you order it assembled with the back and adaptors?, how does the rails work, is it macro capable, or is this throw just for focusing?, and I realy liked the X L design, maybe a few videos on that one as it looks more like a monorail than the actus-B, which seems to be a bellows set, but with movements, the XL also has a rail similar to the ultima, with extension capability, is this for long lens use, or a macro only rail.

    • @cambofotografischeindustri3415
      @cambofotografischeindustri3415 8 месяцев назад

      One of the beauties of view cameras is the modularity. A lot of things can be mixed an matched together. That may also make it look complicated. No view camera - and our Actus-XL is no exception - comes with a digital back and a lens attached. If you're interested in owning a Cambo XL, please tell which digital back you have or intend to acquire and we can tell you what it takes to adapt it. @@andyvan5692

    • @andyvan5692
      @andyvan5692 8 месяцев назад

      yes, I have seen some of the B&H listings of this, wow the sliding back is a great idea, esp. since you don't have to move the digital back off and on again to focus, saving dust or scratches, I have an older hasselblad H2f with a CF back (22MP), and a phase one P45+ on a H1, so am furnished with some great backs, I would be interested in some information, if the XL is kitted with these backs, and the lens adaptors for Hasselblad v lenses, as I have some of them too, but also would be interested in what copal lens board/options(for LF lenses) there are; as I understand, from the B&H site there are some lens/board combos that are available with some of these Actus models, as having the lens coverage which can give plenty of movements, makes this a more usable system. Also what compendium shade and macro extension rails are available, as from a RUclips video on the Ultima 23D, I understand this base is capable of having extensions added, and if the Actus XL is a true replacement (I have seen a conversion kit on the net to convert one "optical bench", into the actus xl architecture). I appreciate all the comments, and your efforts at keeping the concept of the view camera alive in modern digital photography, Cambo and Linhof are the only true Monorail manufacturers left going, so KEEP IT UP guys.@@cambofotografischeindustri3415

    • @cambofotografischeindustri3415
      @cambofotografischeindustri3415 8 месяцев назад

      Advantage of the Actus-XL over the Ultima is that it gives access to the whole range of Actus accessories. If you'd like to adapt the Hasselblad lenses-and-leaf-shutter the Actus-XL conversion is a must. You'd need the ACB-HVSA adapter for these lenses. Demand for sliding backs is sparse nowadays. Newer DBs have good live view. For yours it makes a good addition though. If you consider adapting one of your backs, the P45+ is probably the preferred choice. It has its own battery, wheras the Hasselblad H backs are powered by the camera battery. Meaning you'd need to source an external power supply once you're using it seperated from the camera body. @@andyvan5692

      These tutorials were intended to be more or less brand independant. Sure, we supported it with our product, so it's all Cambo cameras you see, but ist mainly about the view camera techniques, not about the cameras. When using a GFX or any other camera body as your "digital back" you won't need an additional leaf shutter, since these camera bodies have their own focal plane shutters. A simple aperture in the lens will do.

      @@cambofotografischeindustri3415 yes, I can get the "digital workflow", but what I was alluding to was a concentration on Analogue technique, as this was originally a film process, with polaroid instant as your "live view", or chimp; nowdays some of us do wish to learn the analogue life, and getting an inexpensive "hand me down", or studio surplus field, or monorail camera means we are "in", but where to from here ? That is where tutorials like yours come in, what we need is some "basics", and also digital solutions (if some of us can afford it), you teased us on what it can do in the right hands, and this is what we desire......, but how and why each movement is made, and show us "live" throught the Ground Glass, differences between monorails, like your actus and the more capable MV varient, is one type better for "digital mirrorless" adaption, or phase one P+ backs, or for film, how to get flare and glare out of shots or to photograph shiny surfaces, like cars, shop windows, without reflections of ourselves (or our cameras) in the shot, are some examples of things we want to learn, but, short of an expensive photo course in advertising, etc. there needs to be more youtube content as you and us need more to get on the wagon, so the LF industry can survive, and keep inovating, making new films, cameras, digital backs.
