Brilliant original vinyl press of Jay Mitchell’s 1974 masterpiece your mama your daddy again A classic from the Bahamas released on GBI records. Great review. If you're anything like me, the first time you hear Jay Mitchell you'll be sitting there with your jaw hanging open to the floor, a dazed looked in your eye, wondering WHY in god's name you've never heard of this guy. Well the biggest rea...

John loved him, Paul hated him and preferred to have his father in law. Paul was right at the end because he became even richer thanks to his father in law. Klein is the guy who stole the stones sixties catalogue and sue the verve for sampling even though they agreed that they can use the sample.

Nice stuff Jimmy! I'm looking for Riot Going On. So cool sound, really gritty saturated drug-infused funk. Sooo much drugs going on there. I'm not a funk collector but I like that one. The UK press of "For Fox Sake" on Fontana with a different cover is very rare and expensive compared to the US press. And very cool to see you got Bill Quick, love that one. I showed it in my video "Obscure Singer-Songwriters" if you're interested. "Maravillosa Gente" means beautiful people (like one of the songs). Cheers!

Beautiful prints from your So Far lp. The No Harm image is pretty disturbing, though! I just picked up an original UK pressing for a reasonable price. Great shape but no prints unfortunately. IV is indeed very beautiful and a fantastic recording. Jennifer is probably my favourite Faust song and i love that mad guitar distortion that concludes in a huge cymbal crash. The Tapes lp was released alongside Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells for 48 pence and so Faust's Avantgarde found it's way into many homes. Likely it wasn't played much haha! Julian Cope describes hearing John Peel on his show listing apparent song titles for the Tapes so quickly that he didn't have time to find a pen and paper and then realising it was probably a joke! I really like the first Clear album too, though it's pretty odd. It has a real strange magical quality though that's quite unique.

Mortimer was good, but they were no Badfinger. I think Klein was looking at bands that had "Hit" potential. I believe the 2nd Mortimer album has been released. In the Rutles world, Alan Klein was Ron Decline.

Yes they do. Every lp has 3 to 6 pop gems like that mostly written by the Incredible casual Spampinato brothers. Spampinato‘S songs are so good that I seeked out anything he was involved with! Terry adams and Al Anderson also write great pop songs

Isn’t it crazy how demos this good couldn’t find a home on a real label? Since the music biz is all about timing that must be the issue here. The music scene in 1974 was taking on prog and in transition from glam to prog, disco and punk. The singer songwriter material was becoming a thing of the past at that time unfortunately

Man I’ve been looking for that Jigsaw LP for awhile but man I gotta tell ya, the cheapest I found was $50-60 LoL I actually love the other Jigsaw with their hit Sky High! Great 70’s pop rock of the one hit wonder variety but I’m a sucker for that old AM Gold! Now that Oxpetqls is a cheap get tho. I see that QSMS around a lot but their earlier stuff is where it’s at 😎 I love the Quick! They’re not as easy to find for cheap tho At least not anymore That’s a $50-100 LP unfortunately which really sucks cuz it’s a great sort of glammy record 🦹🏻‍♂️ cool video Jimmy! Some great records!
