My friend Moss and I wrote this song awhile back. She is hiking the entirety of the Superior Hiking Trail this summer. I was able to join her briefly and record her performing this song in the Encampment River, which is the namesake of the song.

07:53 What's the diameter of the opening of the growler?
The cap is the Nalgene 53B cap and the diameter of the opening is approximately 4 cm.
Thanks for this! I am new to growing white pines and started cold shocking seeds last August, planted in October. My seedlings had about 80% germination. They are around 3-4” tall now after the summer outside. I know they are too small to plant still but wondering how to overwinter them this year. One suggestion I heard was to put them under a 5 gallon bucket, ensconce them in peat moss, and then put a weight on the bucket to keep mice out. Would you recommend this? And do you think my seedlings would be ready to officially plant in the ground by the end of next summer? Thanks for your advice!
Thanks for viewing. A couple of thoughts: The temperature they are exposed to while overwintering. If the peat moss cannot provide some insulation to very cold sub zero temperatures you will likely have some mortality. If they are stored at a cold but not freezing temperature they cannot dry out. And lastly, as you have already thought of, adequate rodent protection. I do think you could safely plant 3-4'' plants this year (although maybe a little too late for that) assuming you live in an area that gets a decent amount of snow. But if you can successfully overwinter them this year they should definitely be ready to plant by the end of next summer.
If i wear a size 8 and have narrow feet what size should i buy if i want to have the liners in and heavy socks?
You are probably right on the cusp of small and medium I would probably go with medium to be safe. Thanks for viewing.
White Robert White Maria Brown Karen
haha, well, I also live in MN, have a female border and threw my old frisbee into a lake
I use the butane pipe insert😮
The exact same thing happened on 2 of mine.
Thanks, the sierra cup is not a good cup, but it is a cup, a not so good bowl, a hand spade, a lid for my cooking cup, a plate and an inadequate frying pan. It is however a great multitasker.
That's a cool description for sure!
I don't mess around at all with the priming step. I give as much fuel as it'll take without burning down my site, and I check my re-opening the valve every couple seconds to see if it's creating a jet yet or not. Priming takes 15-30 seconds max. I haven't encountered any particulate issues yet, and burning nothing but naptha I don't think I ever will.
Good video Stony. I think I'm going to be getting one of these for Moto camping, what I currently have takes up more space and is heavier especially when accounting for the fuel it uses. Hindsight is always 20/20.
Interesting that they moved away from HDPE when it was BPA free to begin with
Best Buy them while you can. 😢 Just ordered the Bushcrafter.
You can easily rinse they off with even cold water. Try burnt on oily gunk.
Wonderful video! I’ve been checking out both these companies to try to figure out which I want to invest in for my canoe camping tarp. I like the price of the equinox better but really wish they’d have fabric pulls instead of grommets. I don’t trust those at all. And while I could sew on my own pulls I’m not sure it’s worth buying a tarp to have to redesign so it’s more like the CCS tarp. Still on the fence but I appreciate seeing closeups of both. I don’t see many reviews or videos on them so thank you for making this!
I just ordered this updated version! Been daydreaming about it for years, and I heard they're discontinueing them to make a simpler one!
Just subscribed for honesty about quitting your job haha. Cheers!
Anyone thinking about going here in the summer should think twice. The bugs are like no other place I have been. They will make you go insane. I spent 3 days here in July and even with my head covered in a net it was terrifying.
thanks for that review bud. ive been wanting a pair of those.
I love how your dog makes cameos in the videos
looks like a very sturdy pack, do you have one of their Canoe packs to review?
Yes, I have several of their canoe packs. Planning to do a review of them this summer!
@@stonyriver5828 I am seriously considering their Hybrid pack for my BWCA trip this summer.
the problem with "waterproof" boots is that they keeps the sweat from your feet inside as well. The reason boots like these mukluks work is that they breathe well and will pull the moister away from your feet. Very good boots for these conditions
Heb re dees. An archipelago of islands off the Northwest coast of Scotland
Thanks for the overview! I have Wintergreen’s full winter Anorak (the fleece and the shell) and their construction quality is phenomenal.
Doing my part for you to kit your job!
Got a pair haven’t had a chance to check them out yet but I will thanks for the info on them buddy!
are deer really that dumb?
If you cook with a bush pot, you can use the bushpot with a lid as a oven. Use the sierra cup as a muffin tin to pour your muffin batter into. The sierra cup fits in most good quality bush pots. When folded up, the handle creates separation and air space from the bottom of the pot. Just one use.
I've had mine for over 50yrs. It's spun with two different layers of stainless so that less heat would transfer into the edge. Less likely to burn your lips. I spent many weekend campouts as a kid with only this cup, a pocket knife and a spoon. Heat your water in the cup, toss in the instant oatmeal. When your done, rinse and repeat for your tea.
I use small Msr fuel bottle with stove, I use the larger bottle to refill smaller bottle. Smaller bottle I find more consistent when using stove.
Rinsing rice can lower heavy metal concentrations and decrease the starch in the water. That being said, starchy water is great for some recipes. If cooking rice alone I'd rinse it.
Dude hurry the fuck up! Dont need the history of nothing.
In sex? Lol
I hope you get famous and quit your job!
👍👍👍
The "flaw" is the user who ripped on it to open the battery compartment.
This isn't meant for being used in an office environment. I depend on this outdoors in uncontrolled environments, the same plastic piece broke for me. I shouldn't have to baby a piece of equipment designed to be used outdoors
When we were younger we would bring old underwear to go camping to wear, and we would cut it up at the end to make char cloth!!!
Nice Baby Dobro guitar.. and A Guitarist in heavenly surroundings.... very cool, touches my soul.
Such a lovely performance and scenery is just perfect! 🔥🔥
I Gado try that! 😂
Live music on the SHT, nice!
Video ended with him “about” to try it immediately after steeping for 5 minutes without any follow up. Perhaps short term use can be harmful too?
Reminds me a lot of Oil City, PA.
sweet Lamb with her frisbee in the beginning ❤
Thanks for the referral to jaros Billiards Great video fun to watch u guys put that tent together Cheers!
The toxins happen when people boil the leaves to make the tea it releases all of the tannins you should always use hot water and then steep the leaves
I have that same screen tent. I don't like it. You'll find out lol! Use a ton of rocks on the bottom. I am buying a clam pop up screen tent for next adventure. I was at Hogback last weekend and was eaten alive (with that field and forest screen tent).
Rinsing rice helps it cook cleaner. You don't get the foamy bubbles that make a mess and cook over
Stopping by Michigan quick lol. 🤣 Any more Stony River area videos coming soon?
Yes, expect more from the Stony River area very soon! Thank you.
Stony river Excited to see the gold stars play soon Any scheduled shows?

Thanks for this mate. I got a plantation going up with 100 acres of Pines planted this far. This technique works really well. I've been putting ham netting around the new trees going into the ground (from the root to about two inches above the bud) and the older ones with mixed success. The net still needs stapling for new nets. Both techniques have their pros and cons. Paper is cheaper, more consistent and easier to deploy but only lasts for a few months. Net lasts up to a year, provides full protection to new trees, and allows the tree to breathe and stem out from between the netting. However it costs more, takes time to cut, and can sag over the bud if too long or exposing the bud before reapplication foregoing it's purpose. I'm currently netting but think I'll go back to paper capping. Appreciate the info.
Have a Dragonfly and Whisperlight International from 28 years ago. Using the Dragonflly tonight for some canoe camping; it always sounded like a rocket taking off. I alway carry a small snort of methol alcohol for priming the Whisperlight. Cheers from Northern Ontario.
