It's not necessarily a battery run. The last (5) to Brooklyn does that. Recently the tower at Utica demands that all (5) Trains to Utica run on the local track via Express to avoid switching off the relay track so that (4) Trains can arrive. MTA is strict about Express trains between 6 AM and 9 to 9:30 PM. Plus they got to get it back to Livonia Yard. I caught one that ran Local from Grand Central to Utica all the way

Here is my proposed solution to fix Rogers Junction, simply be a part of crossovers (upper and lower) just immediately west of the Nostrand Station local to get to and from the express tracks through Franklin Ave station. 4 trains local at Nostrand to New Lots and 5 Utica express would merge on these turnouts to do the express to downtown Brooklyn. The 2 and 3 would stay together from Flatbush Avenue, and stay local all they way to Manhattan. SIMPLE - 4 Trains to New lots via Eastern Parkway Local and 5 trains to Utica Avenue via Eastern Parkway Express while 2 and 3 trains go local to Flatbush Avenue on the Nostrand Avenue line They don't cross each other's paths. People sometimes have to cross platform at Franklin Aveune; The Two turnouts/crossovers allow Flatbush trains to not conflict with Utica/New Lots Trains. They will have to open a hole in Eastern Avenue, and I don't know how they would get down to the lower level without disrupting the upper level. I Guess Utica/New Lots Service will have to be curtailed for a month while they do the removal of the upper level, and the lower level vertical beams and replace the floor also.

It appears @Mystic Transit ex-communicated me from speaking in the channel due to respectful opposition of his asinine de-interlining plan. Sadly, I'm not going to comment on there, so don't even attempt to get my attention as I CAN'T comment on it. 😑 ORIGINAL COMMENT: It's idiotic. Reading your plan is even confusing. "(R)/(W): consolidated into one (R) route. Astoria-Ditmars to Coney Island. Broadway Local, 4th Avenue Local-West End. Twenty trains per hour (full route)." This is stupid because once again, you're taking Broadway service away from Queens Boulevard and placing it into Astoria, Queens. When doing that, you're adding more commuters on existing (E) and (F) express services and amplifying more inconveniences, especially on the East Side and the IRT Lexington Avenue Line. Arguably, more frequency is the position to support, but it matters when people WANT it and will use it. If more service is your argument, explain why the (G) was cut back to Long Island City-Court Square permanently when it was operating to Queens Boulevard late nights and weekends? Now to Coney Island, I understand why you prefer (R) service on Coney Island Yard. You want the (R) to operate to Astoria, Queens, as opposed to Jamaica Yard because service would be better. Unfortunately, the service you proposed isn't better because you're effectively removing a Broadway Express train hauling to Coney Island in exchange for more local service. Not only it's unnecessarily long, but it's also inconvenient as there isn't a huge demand for local service on Fourth Avenue. The vast majority of commuters are flying down Fourth Avenue. There is more demand for Coney Island, so shifting from Express to Local service to Coney Island isn't ideal. "(N)/(Q): Combined into one single (N) schedule (trains will still be designated as (N) or (Q)). 96th Street-2nd Avenue to Coney Island (N) or Brighton Beach (Q). Broadway Express, Manhattan Bridge, Brighton Local (N), or Express (Q). 15 (N) tph, 15 (Q) tph." Okay, ignoring that (Q) service to 96TH Street-Second Avenue doesn't need definite help and the fact that Phase III and IV would launch the (T) service to run between East Harlem-125TH Street and Hanover Square via Second Avenue-effectively creating an issue of a northern terminal for the (N). You're also placing BMT Broadway primarily on Brighton, so I have a question to ask? Which train is going to be part time, the (N) or the (Q)? The (B) is part time and it has the perfect role of operating as Brighton Express 19/5. If either the (N) or (Q) is going to Brighton Beach, it is required for the service to be part-time. Given that you're merging the (N) and (Q), it would seem redundant to have these services running at all times. Another thing to consider is removing an Express (N) in Astoria, Queens and exchanging it to more local service. It's frustrating to repeat that local service isn't in huge demand. The (B) runs on Sixth Avenue as Express on weekdays, it's the perfect part-time service, having the (N) or (Q) as full-time routes delegated as part-time routes doesn't make sense given what's explained above. "(B): Bedford Park Blvd to Bay Ridge-95th Street. Concourse-8th Avenue Local, 6th Avenue Express, Manhattan Bridge, 4th Avenue Express to 36th Street, then local to 95th Street. 12-15 tph (D): 168th Street to Coney Island. 8th Avenue Local, 6th Avenue Express, Manhattan Bridge, 4th Avenue Express-Sea Beach. 12-15 tph." It is prioritizing the (D) to Coney Island because it's the only train running express to Coney Island in Fourth Avenue, as not many riders are going to use (R) via local to Coney Island. In addition to taking part-time (B) back to Fourth Avenue and instructing it to run to Bay Ridge-95TH Street... Reading your idiotic plan, it's diverting existing express services in areas in demand for an artificial demand for local services. Having the (A) and (C) replaced with (B) and (D) as local services in Eighth Avenue and effectively making them part-time services brings back issues with a full-route not running over in Fourth Avenue, effectively creating longer commutes. That's what you want? That's idiotic. "This should help smooth service on the existing trackage, with no new tunnels. Now come at me @Renegade MS." This is exactly what I hate when rail enthusiasts who don't take their plans seriously. You ignore everything concerning in favor of your vision of an ideal transit system. I can do exactly what you did, but I don't view transit as an art project; I interpret this as a means of traveling to preferred destinations. The SAS is the perfect example; I understand the core mandate for SAS, and respect it. You guys, see it as an art project and yearn for it to operate throughout without acknowledging demand. The MTA understood this; terrible rail enthusiasts don't.
