Hello everyone! My name is Swade and welcome to my channel! I reside near Cincinnati, OH and railfan when I have time. My channel focuses mostly on heritage/special interest units and steam locomotives. 2024 will be full of new steam locomotive chases and my journey to see all of the CSX heritage units leading, so take a load off, relax and subscribe to my channel to see all 2024 has to offer!
CSX #1877 Chicago & Eastern Illinois Heritage Unit
After seeing a last minute report of CSX M360 clearing up Hamilton with CSX #1877 I headed out for Wyoming, OH. I arrived about 5 minutes before M360 rounded the corner with 1877 near the end of the train. 1877 was CSX's 17th heritage unit, painted in tribute to the Chicago & Eastern Illinois (C&EI) railroad. Since UP pays very little (if any) tribute to their MoPac side of C&EI heritage, it's nice to see CSX get a C&EI out on the mainline. Enjoy!

I headed out on a bright sunny morning after seeing reports that CSX M511 was led by a duo of CSX #1982 (Seaboard System) and CSX #Enjoy1875 (Pittsburgh & Lake Erie) heritage units. Due to catastrophic flooding in the Appalachian region, CSX and NS have been rerouting trains through various areas. Still digging through some of my old videos and I found a video of NS #8103 leading a Northbound Norfolk Southern manifest. I couldn't find the date of the video, but based on the background it was sometime late 2023 or early 2024. I headed out on an overcast morning after hearing that NS 171 would be coming down from Pennsylvania with quite the colorful lashup. While a standard NS C6M was leading, the freshly repainted Virginian heritage unit, NS #1069 , was trailing second. And there will be a day where locomotives that are common will start being rare and never will be seen again. NS Dash 9's used to be so common, but now they're increasingly rare, and the old logo NS Dash 9 days are about to come to an end, so I'm glad I got to see as many as those while I can
