Another way to get easy steals in nba 2k12 (yes, works for both ps3 and xbox) is after your team makes a basket, get in front of the person the guy inbound is passing to. This only works if you're at least three feet away form that guy, otherwise he will pass it to the secondary person. Try it! See for yourself1 :)

1st,make sure your defensive assist A?I is on 100.Second, your steal has GOT to be high (80's, perferrly 90-99),on ball defense(80's-90's) and def.awareness has to be 80-90 as well.It would be best to be a SG because they can creep from the side to trap,like the video.Dont be a center because their on ball defense and steal sucks,and you have to come from under the basket,which can be dished for a easy 2.

I cannot do this, every single time i call a double team on the guy, he just dishes it out to someone else before i can get there and even attempt a steal. The times he doesn't pass, it wont steal the ball for the life of me

Omg this is so hard. I can never make steals or even stay with my man. It's the hardest game ever. And i tried this but my player never stole anything. Someone HELPP!!?? pleeaaseee. its so annoying when you keep getting team grades of F!

it helps if you have your steal up, it makes it easier to steal and if you have your defensive awareness up because it helps to grab loose balls
