I'm 75 now and have seen it all. I'm convinced, that this group is the most talented group I've ever seen. They can do it all. Not only just genus musicians, they are just born performers. The way they conduct themselves on and off the stage so confidently is such a gift. Then on top of it all, they all are bilingual, speaking perfect English as a second language. I think yours an honest take from the outside. It's not a matter of agree or disagree with some details from that take (I sure do). What it matter is this serves to the purpose of exposing to people the names of some brilliant and innovative bands who were fairy under radar for Mass Media back in their time. Some from your audience might casually listen to some of them just out of curiosity after watching your video. That alone makes it a nice idea. Gratitude.

First of all I want to say that I really don't care about defending fantano or proving he isn't a misogynist or whatever. I genuinely don't know his intentions. Also i want to clarify that I dont hate the album. Some parts arw genuinely tragic and convey her emotions in a very compelling way and others less so. Overall imo it is nowhere near as bad as fantano says but also nowhere near as good as her previous one. However the fact that Halsey has gone through tremendous hardship doesn't mean that they conveyed that angst and hardship in a compelling manner through their songs. At least not in every song. In a vacuum the "what about a bitch" lyric is an edgy high-schooler ass lyric and it doesn't turn into a good lyric in context either. Good music can stand on its own and portray a tragic event like being diagnosed with a chronic illness in an adequate and relatable way. In many parts of the record the writing presupposes that the listener already knows their story and is gonna take a random lyric that sounds like it's about teenage drama and by putting it in the context of Halsey's hardships and turn it into something deep. Other parts are genuinely tragic and they are the best parts of the album for me. For example a song like Lazarus for example can stand on its own. You don't need to already know that it is a goodbye letter to bowie's fans after he was diagnosed with cancer you can just feel the tragedy by listening to it. I'm not saying I expect bowie levels of artistry from Halsey but her story doesn't make some of their weaker lyrics any deeper than they actually are. With that in mind fantano's approach is super clumsy and careless towards the very real issues that Halsey is facing. Spectrum Pulse's review for example, while negative was more considerate with regards to those issues.

There are Babymetal songs with an english version as well as japanese: Elevator Girl, Believing, From Dusk Til Dawn, and The One. There are also songs that are in English and Japanese together, Divine Attack, Kagerou, and Mirror Mirror are a few. And there are subtitles on alot of their videos, as well. Have a great time reacting to, hopefully, all four albums-worth of songs, it would definitely be worth it. The live concert videos are always epic but the Official Music Videos are just as great. Karate, Distortion, Iine (iine), and Megitsune, are great OMV's.

I don't know enough of the nominees, perhaps I'll check them all out and come back or at least be informed before the event. Linkin Park just dropped From Zero album with their new FrontWoman Emily Armstrong and that will be nominated for 2026 and should win something. Highly recommend you react to something on this one, it could be a turning point for all heavy music everywhere

Awards are not for the people who get them, they are for the people who hand them out. That’s why you rarely see real surprises. Most judges are on the panel because they think alike, and they know the assignment. It’s not a sport. The artists themselves would not do themselves justice if they tried to do music to win awards. The scope of the award is to establish a pecking order among forces on the market. It’s about the business. So mainstream and safe bets reign supreme. It’s an American thing as well. So, America first, and all that jazz.
