"So whoever things he stands, let him take heed lest he fall"- Pastor Dames' situation is a sober reminder of the need for accountability within the body of Christ because of how deceitful the heart is.

I first saw Pastor Dames on Instagram. I looked for him and his church on RUclips. I found and I did this entire Revelations series this last year. I am doing it again. Recently I read about Pastor Dames’ unfortunate circumstances in TX this past May. I am deeply saddened by the loss of having him as my on-line pastor. He has been fired by the church. This man is a greatly gifted, talented, educated and blessed pastor and it is a tremendous loss for those of us who have relied upon him for teaching us the truth in the Scriptures. I understand the haste and their reasoning behind firing him as he held a position of leadership. Perhaps those who are in a position to make a difference would consider forgiveness and reinstatement. Christ would and has forgiven him if he has asked. Why shouldn’t others do likewise? Forgive this man and give him the opportunity to exhibit his repentance and be an example of how we all are susceptible to temptation and sin, we all can fall, and we all would want the opportunity to rise above it and start again with rebuilding ourselves and our relationships. He, above anyone, knows what he has done and what he has lost. He has lost everything he has worked so hard to build. Satan targeted him intentionally because Pastor Dames was making tremendous headway for Christ. He was making an impact for Christ worldwide through social media. Satan couldn’t let that go unchallenged. So now Satan has lauded this as a victory before God. Satan will win if we as fellow Christians will not forgive and let Pastor Dames be the example to others who fall that there is hope with Christ to recover, to rebuild, and be the best example of what Christ can do with a sinner. We have all sinned, will continue to sin, and it is only because we haven’t sinned exactly as others have, or haven’t been caught yet, that we haven’t experienced the same losses. Be careful of the crowd and the rocks lying at your feet. Remember, he has done nothing more than what millions and millions do every single day whether in person or online. I am not justifying it. I am saying forgiveness. Look at this country and those in a position of power. There is little to no accountability. We don’t force them into accountability. It is only because he is a pastor that hypocrites proclaim him worthy of the crème de la crème’s of persecution and punishment. Because he is Christian, because he is a pastor, Satan has made sure that his emissaries in all types of media print so that the entire world now knows what he has done. Can you name or see any of the others who were caught in this sting operation? No. You can’t. Satan has made sure to flaunt before God and all his successful coup on another strong Christian. Don’t stand in the way of this man’s redemption. Don’t partake in the clamor to destroy his life for being a Christian who fell. Support him, encourage him, stand firm with him. He will live till death both in person and within his heart and mind his sin. That is a heavy burden to bear as though a scarlet letter upon his forehead. He will never escape it due to the very nature of his calling: a man of God. Would you want upon yourself the very persecution you would exact on another? Or would you yourself want the forgiveness from others that Christ made possible through HIS DEATH for all sin?
