Continue adding pairs to the right edge. The edge is created by working the new pairs through the edge pairs with a CTCT stitch. The stitch around the pin forms a small box. After each 2 new pairs are added, prepare the pairs for the Flanders stitch by working a CT on each set of pairs - this forms a star shape. Work the Flanders stitch with the new pairs and the pair to the left.

There are several possibilities to finish the piece. 1- All the threads can be worked to the bottom of the piece and included in the tassel 2 - As the final edge stitches are worked, the passive edge pairs remain and the threads from the ground are removed (demonstrated in this video) 3 - Your imagination

I really like your style of teaching bobbin lace and since I'm a beginner I would like to follow along with your video but you never say where to get the working diagram. for pricking.

Thank you for this. I joined my "local" lace maker group but they only meet once a month and that day has been a day I'm not able to attend. I have only just beginning and I'm a little lost.

I’ve been fascinated with bobbin lace for years now, but haven’t been able to really get a project going. I also happen to have a project for my textiles class, and this fits the requirements perfectly! Thank you for explaining everything so concisely and clearly! I love complex diagrams, but the stitch diagram is a bit much for me… You break it down very nicely, and make it much easier to understand! My only issue is the playlist is out of order, but that isn’t too hard to deal with. It just makes it a tad harder to find the next video. Again, this is a beautiful design I wouldn’t have been able to find without you, and you make it make sense as well!

RUclips will not put them in order. The numbers are correct, so I don't know what else to do. Glad you like this little pattern.

Hi, Love your videos and clear demonstrations, can I ask where you had your bobbins from please ? Thanks

    • @threadwhisperers6624

Double headed Dutch bobbins may be ordered from this website - www.etsy.com/shop/ProvoLaceShop?ref=l2-about-shopname&section_id=25123617 or www.vansciverbobbinlace.com/. I use them because: the ball at the end raises the bobbin from the pillow and makes them easier to pickup. It is also easy to hold the 3 bobbins in your hand when making tallies in the 'air.' Thanks for asking.

I must be honest. I created these videos so long ago, I can't remember. But what I would like to stress is something that has taken me years to understand. In the beginning I was sure that everything needed to be completed in a specific technique - step by step. Yes, we need to learn the techniques of a lace, but as I learned from one teacher when we were working on a reproduction and asked, "What is the correct way to work this section?" She responded, "This one lace maker completed the same pattern with 3 slightly different techniques. So which one is correct?" So please - do what makes sense to you. Plus, I may have made a mistake. Happy New Year.

Is this the same video as the previous one? It seems one is missing between finishing the ear and this one. One that includes the triple sewing.

How kind of you! Thanks for the comment. In some ways I went into much more detail than are taught with Idrija - hidden threads/magic threads, but I don't like knots which is the way they finish things.
