Gern geschehen! Ich wünsche ihnen einen wunderbaren Tag!!
Why use distilled water, then contaminate it with bleach and washing-up liquid? I understand the main reason for using distilled water is for the possible safety of its low electrical conductivity, but adding bleach and washing-up liquid would increase the conductivity to at least that of tap water.
The tap water around here contains a very high mineral content. The last thing I need are tubes coated in Cal! A little bleach is added to prevent algae forming. A drop or 2 of dish soap acts as a surfactant. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
hey guys hope this can help someone instead of runing the return line to the reservoir in the ice maker put the return line above the copper coils inside the maker .. i did this to mines and it works perfect the water get cold fast and also i hooked up a inkbird to mines which turns on the ice maker at a set temp and takes it off at a set temp
Good idea, I'll will have to try that! Thanks for sharing. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
I've gone from a commercial chiller to the same setup for the same reason. The temperature of the lazer was not going down. The return tube should be in the water otherwise you will get air in the tube when you shut off the pump.
Great minds think alike! At first I left the tube out of the water so I could hear it running. It is difficult to see inside the ice machine. Take care not to lower the temperature below the ambient dew point or condensation will form inside the tube. I did this once and had to buy a new tube!! Thanks for watching, have a great day!

Hello, We purchased the ortur laser master 2 pro s2 and assembled it according to the official video, but when we pressed start, the machine did not respond. We don’t know where the problem is. I hope you can help us solve it. Thank you very much.
Hi, I hope it is something simple. You have to press and hold the power button in until the machine starts. Briefly pressing the button will not work. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Having just added one the boards to my existing K40, I'm not getting anywhere near the quality of engraving you are achieving. Are you running each lighburn engrave with 'Constant Power' set on? If so have you increased the overscan percentage?
Hi, I do not use constant power, overscan is set to 2.5% You can get the file I made here : drive.google.com/file/d/1-SK2Q0ynII4a8m__4YWCRodw8RKsltnZ/view?usp=sharing Thanks for watching and have a great day!
Thanks I’ll give it a try. I’ve been in touch with Cedric about the approach to putting a custom spindle speed mapping together to better tune the variable power. I must admit I’d not have found the board without your video 👍
You're welcome! Have a great day!! @@MrFatlab
@@craftworks7232 I downloaded the file and ran it through the K40 with the settings in the Lightburn file. Everything worked fine. I realise I’d been optimistic running the speed at 300 mm/s. Even at 100 mm/s it’s a 3x speed increase from my diode laser. Thanks for sharing the file.
@@MrFatlab You're welcome! If you want to keep in touch you can email gizmohombre@gmail.com I have messed around with images onto tiles and other stuff so feel free to ask. Always useful to bounce ideas off people!
I could do that with the old board and k40 whisper.
Thank you for this video the z axis kit looks amazing. I’ve been on to their website and the kit and fully assembled is out of stock 😢. I have emailed them a couple of weeks ago but haven’t heard anything back yet
Hi, that is a pity. I know the guy is a university student so maybe he's away on holidays. Hope he gets back to you. Thanks for watching, have a great day!

Hi, can you tell me the dimension of that tool? what is the distance between the gantry ant the bed?
The bed measures 24x35 cm it fits comfortably in the K40. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Hi I would like to upgrade my k40 it's been sat in my workspace for 2 years still wrapped Like you I wanted more control while it's a small bed I can just about cope with it's size for home use I want to use lightburn on it and alsy have depth in my text and engraving I can't find any info on the make and brand plus the supplier of controller you used Any help will be very useful please
Hello, how do you handle condensation? What is the function of the degreaser
I live in the desert of Andalucía, condensation is not a problem for me!! The soap is a "wetting agent" that is it helps the water to coat the surface of the glass tube. ¡Vivo en el desierto de Andalucía, la condensación no es un problema para mí! El jabón es un "agente humectante", es decir, ayuda a que el agua cubra la superficie del tubo de vidrio.
Im happy that You are happy for ESP upgrade but on slate by whisperer my pictures look better.... sorry mate
The quality of an image is not dependent on the type of controller or the software driving it. It is a product of the quality of the original image, the way it is processed and the preparation of the material used.
Very Good Very Nice, Great method I would leave it running all the time as you say, great setup :-)
Hey thanks! Now time to catchup on outstanding jobs! Thanks for watching, have a great day!
What an interesting machine, man! I've never seen one of those! 😃 Something you can do to make it faster is to put some ice in it when you turn it on. Anyway, stay safe there with your family, my friend! 🖖😊
Thanks Mario! Great idea to prime it with some ice first, of course it would need to be made from the "special" formula! Keep safe.
Awesome video man!! Great too see you back and looking fabulous as ever, keep up the fantastic work
Hey thanks! Much appreciated.
Agreed! I confess I got a bit confused about the ch name... But not for long!
Cohesion3D board price is a joke!
At over half the price I paid for the K40 I agree! Fortunately the alternative is much more reasonable. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
I just put this bed together but am having trouble keeping it level when turning the crank. Any suggestions please.
Make sure the belt is tensioned by the screw in the slotted base as you see here : ruclips.net/video/ssJye9Gj6Fo/видео.html Check the nuts that hold the screw to the plastic corner pieces are tight. Check the bed is level by measuring the gap between it and the base on all sides. I have not had any issues with it not staying level. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
@@craftworks7232 great. thanks
Is the possibility of the laser damaging the belts a concern?
I have not found it to be a problem. The belts are edge on and at that point the laser is way out of focus. It would need to sit in the same place for a looooong time to do any damage! Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Meerk40t is great software that will drive the stock board of a K40.
I am sure that Meerk40t like K40 Whisperer is a good way to start. In my opinion Lightburn is far superior. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
This video has helped me. Thank you so much.
You're welcome! Have a great day!!
I'm in the USA and ordered an adjustable laser bed from xs-robotics. It was 20 pounds for shipping. I'm expecting it any day now.
Great! You will not be disappointed! I reviewed it here : ruclips.net/video/ssJye9Gj6Fo/видео.html Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Unfortunately the website for that board is no longer working!!!!!!
Works for me! maybe it was down for maintenance.
I see it working.
@6:20 May I suggest you take the blue plastic covering off the metal shielding. I saw it on another video and they made the point that covering something that's designed to be cool in plastic is not a good idea. I took mine off straight away. Also...I'm using K40 Whisperer and Inkscape and my results are just as good. Am I missing something? Thanks for uploading
Hi, thanks for the comment. I'm not sure which piece of "metal shielding" you are referring to? Inkscape is a very useful tool which I also use. I started out using K40 Whisperer also and it works OK. However for my Ortur laser I downloaded the free trial of Lightburn to try. WOW! It is a game changer. It is much more than just controller software. For many designs it is all you need. The Art and Materials Libraries I found particularly useful. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
@@craftworks7232 At 6:20, when you're messing with the wires, there the stainless steal box with the CE label on it, it's got a CPU fan in it...That's the thing that has the blue plastic protection on it. I thought it was anodised (or something) at first but it's just thin plastic sheet. Laters...
@@alantaylor2694 I have never had a problem with the power supply overheating. I just finished a 2 hour session cutting ply at around 10 mA and the box wasn't even warm. If it ever got hot there would be a serious problem!
Is this a reputable company that can ship to USA
The question is better asked to the company : mail@xs-robotics.de For my part I am completely happy with the service. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
@@craftworks7232 I am in the USA (California). I tried to order from them a while back. They cancelled my order, refunded my money and told me they could not ship it to me.
@@alpscraftshack599 That's a shame. Maybe something to do with the shipping costs, now silly after the covid thing.
@@alpscraftshack599 I’m in the US and I just placed my order yesterday and it seems like it went through! I’ll keep you updated when I receive it
@@ricardoserrano-smith5571 Did you ever receive the bed?
Thank you for the informative video .. I am a new owner of the Ortur, and made the rookie mistake of "peeking" at the laser job while running (with laser goggles) .. I am not sure there is damage, but it was INSANELY BRIGHT! and it just felt dangerous. I will be making the camera-on-a-stick .. (brilliant!)
Hey thanks! Be aware that the goggles that come with the Ortur are rubbish! I bought these : amzn.to/3G1n0tZ When I first used the new goggles I wondered why I could not see the laser in test fire mode and it was because the goggles were blocking it! Now use the rubbish ones just for framing. You only have one pair of eyes, take care!! Thanks for watching, have a great day!
same. How did u remove the old K40 program that the chinese company uses?
I never installed it! Before I used K40 Whisperer which was OK but Lighburn takes things to a whole new level and it not expensive for what it can do. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
You just tell your computer to uninstall it!
looks good
I am very happy with it. It has been n use now every day. I don't think I could buy all the parts for this project for less than the kit cost. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
@@craftworks7232 a quick question when cutting on the bed does the laser pass through and burn the belt ? thanks
@@wizard1963uk It is a possibility but as the belt is edge on and the laser will be way out of focus I don't think it would burn. maybe a sheet of tin foil over the belt might work?

Pretty interesting indeed, man! 😃 A laser CNC like that is really useful!!! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks Mario! Like 3D printers once you have one you cannot understand why you did not get one before, so useful! Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Depending on your power supply there is a spot to connect a test fire button. I will get a picture of my setup later today and share with you if you would like.
Thanks for sharing. Have a great day!!
That's true, however it fires the laser without setting the power. So you have a huge risk to fire at full power
@@cedricvivien8776 Great advice Cedric! I only use the macro in Lightburn.
Curious why you can't wire the momentary test button to the laser switch button, then rather than lock on lock off it will make the same contact with the momentary test and then your test button will work, ??
I guess that would work but my preferred solution is using the macro in Lightburn. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Just got this board, it's like I have a new machine! And the developer is very responsive and helpful for a noob like me...

Out of stock :(
That is a shame! You can contact the developer at : avataraar.120@gmail.com Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Unfortunately the website for that board is no longer working!!!!!!
Looks like a nice board, I am using the Cohesion 3d board with lightburn, I left the control potentiometer in place (actually replaced it with a 10 turn pot for better control) this lets me set the power level so that when Lightburn is set to 100% it limits the tube current to 18mA, so no chance of overdriving the tube. I also found that the original connectors on the K40 were very poorly crimped, a small tug on the wire could pull the wire out of the connector, not a good idea at mains voltage!
Interesting idea with the pot, so far I'm happy with the control from Lightburn. The overall construction of the K40 is very shoddy. I had all sorts of crap rolling around in the bottom of mine, loose nuts being one of them! You gets what you pay for! What is your approach to "test firing" the laser? Thanks for watching, have a great day!
@@craftworks7232 Hi, I have the 10 turn pot set to control the maximum power from the power supply, this gives 0 to 5 volts to the power supply, I also have a digital voltmeter module set to measure the control voltage. In normal use a voltage of 4.5 volts gives me 18 mA to the tube (100% power from lightburn) Fot test firing (for mirror alignment) I reduce this to around 0.6 volts this gives a nice small spot on the card when the "fire" button is pressed. I have rewired all the electrics on the K40 (important to check the earth connection, mine had a bolt to the metal bodywork, but the paint had not been removed, 15,000 volts with poor wiring in a badly earthed metal box... what could go wrong???)
@@zebo-the-fat I hear ya! Looking at the (lack) of earthing and having a glass tube filled with water attached to 15 Kv scared me so much I used a long stick to switch it on! What do you use your K40 for?
@@craftworks7232 Still learning! I use it to engrave slate coasters and it is excelent for cutting and marking acrylic sheet, also used it to cut and engrave signs from 3mm birch
