hello! i got almost all of this information from the Six Wiki Fandom. i started by looking through the category ‘LGBTQ+ People’ and then did some more research. i included as many people as possible in this video, however, there are some people that were listed in this category, but lacked source or reference. i didn’t want to leave anyone out, so anyone who was listed without any additional information was put in this video and given the term ‘queer’. here is a list of the following people i speak of in this video: Amelia Atherton (see desc.) Taylor Iman Jones i want it to be known that i do not speak for these people and whatever they identify as is their own personal business and we have to respect that. whether they are queer or not, they support the community and that is enough.

that’s the queer flag! while the term ‘queer’ is historically defined as strange, odd, peculiar, or eccentric, it eventually became a derogatory term used for gay or effeminate men through the late 19th century and into the the 1940s. throughout the 1960s and 70s, gay liberationists began to reclaim the word, working towards ending the stigma against homosexuality and its differences in from heterosexuality, which was, and generally still is, the norm. nowadays, the term ‘queer’ is used as an umbrella term for the entire LGBTQ+ community, covering sexual and/or romantic orientation, gender identity and expression, as well as for those who either choose not to use specific labels or don’t feel comfortable with any. it’s also the Q in LGBTQ+. hope this helps!

awwww i’m so glad i was able to help you discover that!! there are many trans/non binary/genderqueer actors in six, i remember how happy i was to get to see Aubrey Matalon live my first time seeing six, because they’re currently the first and only queen to use any pronouns, and so do i! she was very sweet and so so kind to me afterwards. i know it can be tough finding representation in theatre, but it’s getting easier by the day! stay safe and stay cool, babes🫶

@@valarius8025 as an alto, i know what you mean. however, there have actually been many altos and mezzos in six! the songs in six are very flexible and are easy to manipulate to fit you best. it’s all about pushing yourself and seeing what you can do. like i said, i’m an alto, but i’ve found my own unique variations of each song so i can sing them all in a way that’s comfortable for me while still drawing inspiration from various queens! don’t let it stop you, keep singing💜👑
