Brexit changes and financial advice for British expats
Bonjourno. We are retired American educators considering moving to Italy using the ERV. We sold our home in Oregon and are visiting Italy in February to learn more about the beautiful country. If we see the perfect village, we want to start the ERV process and maybe secure a year-long lease. Question: May we start the ER Visa process while visiting Italy? What is the time frame? I have all of the required documents and meet the financial requirements. Grazie! Dean & Cindy
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
It's got nothing to do with wealth equality. It's all to do with wealth inequality. This will prevent the lower and middle classes of having a chance of creating wealth!
Unfortunately, this all is changing with the massive inmigration that we get everyday. As in Europe we are losing our identity. The socialism is ruinning our lifres
wow you're so gorgeous despite i can't understand that accent your eyes are stuning
But have you already started working in a Spanish company?
Another overstatement, of scraping ice of windscreen every morning. Where the hell did you live in the UK?
Spanish in Austràlia is immigrant and australian in Spain is Expats?…..mmmm…oooookk
It is clear that there is a very different way of understanding everything and it has a lot to do with the Protestant tradition of obsession with money, which is not so deep in the Catholic world, and the inhospitable climate of northern Europe which does not exactly help socialising outside your own home. The importance of the family is inherent to the culture of the Mediterranean Greco-Roman world to which, evidently, northern Europe does not belong more than by contact.
NO TAXES! NO SOCIALISTS, NO COMMUNISTS 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
If they eat dinner so late, what time does the workday begin?
This video is mis-titled.
The north of Spain has a very rainy climate, and the center of the country, being on a plateau, has cold winters. 320 days of sunshine a year are in the south-east of the country Galicia in the north-west is one of the rainiest places in Europe.
Istanbul is even later. Strangers may come to your door up to 2am. They sing loudly even later than that. Spanish produce is very good, but Japan's is even better.
No expat. Inmigrant.
11th reason: Sometimes, smart Australian women, with gorgeous green eyes, decide to live among us.
An expat is not an immigrant. An expat is someone who lives in your country but doesn't want your nationality or citizenship, because they consider it's not better than theirs. They usually love living in your country because they can take advantage of the inequalities... and they leave when they stop receiving a special treatment. Expats typically love countries like Spain, China, Philippines, Mexico, etc.
That's nice, and it's good that you like Spain and found a place you're comfortable in, but unless you're just living there for a small period because your job had you move there, and you intend on going back to your original country when this period ends, you're an immigrant, not an expat.
please dont come...make your countries better
please...dont come to spain....its a socialism country...and it dont like to americans 😂😂😂
It’s not true that “everybody’s always late to everything and it’s perfectly normal and socially accepted”.
Not expats but IMMIGRANTS. Hope this helps!!!❤
Spain is shit, I've been here 8 years, I make 135K euros per year and I can't wait to get out of this hellhole... I'm moving to Estonia... Fuck off.
Nice video, thanks.
The cities are well connected but inland villages are poorly connected as more and more people rather live in coastal towns ... as it happens in Australia. Say it as it is: immigrant rather than expat. There is no problem naming it as it is. Immigration and conquest are integral parts of the Spanish history and culture. Romans, Visigods/Vikings, Moors, Jews, French, etc all invaded and/or settled in the Iberian peninsula. Only negative item: salaries are roughly 10% - 20% lower than in France, but cost of living is affordable if you manage to secure a job. Unemployment rate is high. Good summary of the main highlights.
ex·pa·tri·ate noun plural noun: expatriates /eksˈpātrēət/ a person who lives outside their native country.
Expatriates are people who live outside their native country but intend on going back after a certai period of time, usually imposed by their job. If you're moving somewhere permanently, you're an immigrant.
IMMIGRANTS
When talking about Spain, it seems to be a paradise for lazy people. People work here. Don't think it's a walk in the park to have a country that can provide tourism services to over 82 million people (twice our population). Construction of cars, ships, wind energy, food industry and pharmaceutical products. One of the few countries with a private airline, etc.
In reality the Arab conquest lasted 781 years but in order to marry an Arab woman or man you had to convert to Islam and generally a Muslim did not convert to Christianity without ending up with a dagger in the back so when they were expelled they were all Arabs or "alleged converts". And only the Spanish remained, so when genetic studies were done, oh surprise, it turns out that we are genetically twinned with the British, French and other Western European countries, so ironies of fate, the peoples with whom we battled in the past turned out to be our brothers.
You have forgotten the first and foremost... Spain is full of SPANIARDS. Generation after generation we have built this country between hate and love
Go to England. You don't belong in Spain.
Smart dress codes only in medium to small towns where the likelihood of come across acquaintances is high and traditions hold better. Interpretation in the grounds of a legal framework? Well it is their job and income that is at stake. The more you sue the more the gain.
Go home basically You all raising the prices of our homes and invading us, as you come with more income and leave us without option. Just stay in your country please
Reason 1. Cheap booze and tapas. Reasons 2 to 10. Everything else.

Can you provide more information in relation to rental income. It’s pretty confusing. If a Brit, relocates to Italy and qualifies for the 7% but has 2 properties in uk. Both earning rental income. It is confusing to grasp the 7% regime criteria. And if you can do a video or explanation that would be great. If tax resident in Italy, and earn money from rental. Then this income is taxed at 7%. As it’s disclosed. But you’re no longer a tax payer in the uk. But it’s bit confusing when looking at HMRC and double taxation agreement, would seem still pay tax in uk at say 20%. So you could earn say 20k in rent. And pay 2k to HMRC, then disclose the 20k to Italy and get charged 7% of the 20k, so in total paid 27% tax. So where is the incentive under the 7% regime? Or do you claim the 13%. It reads as tho not offset. So I can’t see the benefit of moving to the 7% regions as paying more tax not less.
What is "Cidy", the stuff that you are spouting only happens if you are foreign, you still think everything is the same as where you come from, exactly like Brits in Spain eating big fried breakfast and egg and chips, the only thing they do not remember is pub opening hours in the UK. Kids go to school at 7 am in Spain so lunch at 2pm is good. People working in the fields start at 6am and finish at 2. 30 go home and keep out of the hottest part of the day. It is sensible, no culture shock, if you been the 10 years you are used to it, i been here since 1988 and no shocks.
Hi Nicole, What if the money comes from a trust? I'm told i don't have to pay any tax
Hi. Trusts aren't recognised in Spain so it's probably easier to discuss this. nicole.sandler@chasebuchanan.com if you email me we can set up a call so I can explain it further. Thanks
I agree. I've been here 21 years and am completely at home.

There is a saying in Spanish that goes, alla donde vas haz lo que ves, which refers to the fact that locals for generations adapt their schedules to the existing climatology and the ways of socialising in their community, with what is most rational in the place where they live. I invite you to have dinner before eight o'clock in the evening in August with the sun shining brightly in the sky and forty degrees Celsius, and then put your little ones to bed in those conditions.
I've walked across Spain four times (Camino de Santiago) and I'm always amazed at the milkman deliveries early in the morning. Keep in mind, when hiking during the summer, getting hiking before sunrise is essential so my experience is more morning based. The fresh produce availability is also amazing.
Southern Spain is flooded with British people that actually cant speak Spanish because they don’t mix with Spaniards, so I’m very surprised you even noticed any of our cultural traits
are they moving there?
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 yes, by the thousands. Apparently they don’t like living in the UK
@@Insaniya.humanity well that means that your housing prices will increase. and they will bring their problems to your country, time to close the doors.
I'm never late. Never. And when someone is late, everyone thinks it is bad. I don't understand this opinion on the part of those who come to Spain. And where I live I can have a coffee at 6 in the morning. There are other worlds, but some of us don't know which ones others inhabit.
