THE STONE THAT BURNS (TSTB) (from Kyoto, JAPAN) "Greener Grass" Lyric Video (02/17/2020)

THE STONE THAT BURNS are:
Kanae Nakahama: vocals, synthesizers
Hiroki Abe: guitar, backing vocals
Jodie Campbell: drums, samples

THE STONE THAT BURNS, or TSTB, are based in Kyoto, JAPAN, and are a simple, rhythmic-based band with soothing vocals, a dry guitar sound, flowing synthesizers, steady bass, and solid drums all blended together. Vocalist and synthesizers (Kanae) spent the 90s in the United States of America and was affected by hip-hop and grunge music. Use these for my rebuilt Alesis kit. AWSOME!
Really want to try those but they dont have any on Promark's website
Pro mark makes the best sticks overall
By the looks of your sticks, your rimshots must be insane!
It like burned be after playing for a while
What’s the difference in forward sticks compared to regular Promark ?
I think it’s the same now, Classic seems to be the name now. Looks like Classic and Rebound and Finesse are the lines. I use the 2b classic for 2 months and can’t can’t go to anything lighter now. I ordered the 2b rebound in active grip and Firegrain. Love these sticks.
what crap is this.
Great sticks..I like them... Hickory is very strong..so far..no broken sticks..lol But after a while...The Black Active Paint/Lacquer (?)...comes off on my fingers...
Screw grip tape you need to tape the front
かっこいい!
Great review man! Thanks. Looks like these babies are what I was looking for!
Hi HV. Cool! I'm actually just about to buy the Classic 2B Active Grip. Happy drumming :)
Looking into these but in 7A. There's also the Vic Firth American classic double glaze 7A. Have you ever tried them ? Any thoughts are appreciated. Cheers 👍
Good job Jodie ! Sounds and looks good 😘
Thanks Kitty Kat :) Share it on your social media pages for us :)
Great band.
I've been using promarks for 35 years. The active grips are great about 10$ a pair but way worth it. Better than wearing gloves.
Hi Eddie. Yeah, the Active Grip sticks are amazing! I tried to wear gloves (AHEAD gloves), but I found that you lose a lot of the 'feel & finesse' when you wear gloves! I guess some people like them but not for me. I'm trying out the Promark 5B Classic Active Grip now, and I love them :)
And I've had pro marks over the years but Vic firth's, I highly recommend it 👍👍
Love VF, too. I’m just trying to find the right pair. I want something between a 5A and 5B.
Riftmazefee1 try the new vic Firth Matt Garstka signature stick. Falls right in between that range. Gives power and speed and a longer taper for more finesse but also has a lot of power when u need that.
Andy Ham I would suggest you trying the Vic firth with the red Vic grip. The Best in my opinion...
Jeremiah Deleon Vic Firth rock n Vic grips? Love those
Thanks Andy. I'll check those out.
Pro marks are awsome but I recommend Vic firth 5B's. They are alot better and I'm a veteran drummer I've played for 8 years and Vic firth's are the best
Thanks Jeremiah. I'll check those out.
Good review! These are my favourite sticks! I decided to try these out one day and they lasted for about 3-4 months!! And I'm a hard hitter. Usually I break sticks after 1-2 weeks of active playing, and these feel so right in your hand to play with so they instantly became my to-go sticks. Love em.
Gus Åkerman Oh yeah the hickory they use is so strong!
Cool Gus! I'm actually trying out the Promark 5B Classic Active Grip now, mainly because I think I like an OVAL tip better than an acorn tip. Check those sticks out, too!
1 other thing I noticed when checking out these sticks was : I was checking out 2 pairs of the forward 5B's and the weight of each pair was vastly different from the other , 1 of the pairs were much heavier....either way still a great stick non the less...
tim sears Oh yeah that happens a lot! Drives me crazy! One pair is like 60-62g and another pair is like 50-52!
I do love these sticks however , very comfortable...either the forward or the rebound...do you keep the rubber rings?? I think they are great...
I have BOTH the Forward and the Rebound 5B sticks , they are perfect in my opinion and I also like the little rubber band rings for more gripping , 2 rings on 1 , just 1 ring on the other for traditional grip players...Ive also tried a "buttload" of sticks as well and this so far have been my fav's...
tim sears What do you do with the rings??????
Funny I just asked you the same thing !!! the first pair I got I somehow lost them but I just bought another pair yesterday and Im keeping the rings . They even sell bags of them things!!! seriously!!!
Hi Tim. But what do you do with the rings? How do you use them on the sticks???? Interesting :O
I haven't seen shredded sticks like that since I switch away from hickory to oak.
Hahahahahahaha I know, but they still hadn't broken then! They have now! lol How do you find Oak sticks? Heavier?
Be careful drum stick promark select balance 5B Balance pretty good that is great fantastic
Yeah, the select balance sticks are awesome! I'm actually using the Promark 5B Classic Active Grip now, mainly because I like an OVAL tip better than an acorn tip.
Thank you RUclips

I shredded mine too. I think it's the cymbal that does it, but I have been using a lot of rim shots recently so maybe that's it. They are decent but the shredding does get on my nerves. I think they break less than a lot of sticks though.
For sure John. Promark must use some serious hickory!
The Rich Redmond active grip Sticks are way better!!
Yeah, they're good, too! Thanks.
i must have this one... thanks for the info dude!
You're welcome man.
Try the Rick Redmond signature stick,it's the same as the active grip 5b but with a shorter taper so it won't break as easy when your chopping an the hihats
Hi Simon. Yeah, I've tried, and like, the Rich Redmond stick, too. Thanks.
Riftmazefee1 review the fire grain sticks!
Thanks for the awesome review! I'm buying this for my brother and I don't know anything about drums. I hope he likes it :D
Oh you're welcome. They are great sticks!
do they mark the cymbal (paint)? I tried Zildjian's painted sticks (Cant recall the name) and they left black paint marks on my cymbals.
ZX9RDan Travis Barker Signiture stick
Hi. No, they don't mark the cymbal at all, ironically. The coating that they use isn't like paint. It's more of a lacquer, so it doesn't get all over the cymbals and drums.
Did you like the ray luzier stick
Heh Simon. I do like the Ray Luzier stick, but it's just a tad, like 3cm or so, too long for me. I like the short taper and the 5B size, but it's just that tad too long for me. Is that the stick you use?
Beatiful. This is not Gion area . This is Miyagawa-cho area. Maiko is Miyagawa-cho Maiko. Her name is Miena.
Hi exiledeepshun: Thanks for the comment:) Yeah, he is cool! Lol:) Are you from Kyoto? Jodie (drums)
