Do you still restore old gloves? I have an old Rawlings RBG60 "Jose Canseco" glove that I've been working on relacing and moisturizing. It's not worth much, but I've had it since I was 14 and still love it. Discovered it needs new binding can could probably use new palm padding and a thumb loop... curious what reconditioning might cost...

I'm considering sending my same glove as this to Nokona for them to rebuild it. They mentioned they have to remove the grommets and can't reinstall new ones. Do you see any issues with this? I'd like to think they offer more support to the existing lacing holes.
Clean work
To really finish the glove, you should have obtained a Rawlings label. You could have scabbed it from a cheap Rawlings glove if a loose one wasn’t available.
Should have bonded the palm to the liner using Cosmolene.

Would’ve been nice to see some of the process, specifically more of the fix for the gaping hole. Kind of impossible to hear what you say because of the music being so loud over your voice. I’m trying to get some old gloves fixed and your video has given me some ideas.

Great job relacing and repair especially on a Nokona, they brag how their gloves are made in the USA but they are junk they don't hold their shape, I relace a lot of gloves and only one ever looked like a good glove I think they are better softball gloves. Stick with Wilson first then follow up with a Rawlings. My opinion!
Love the Finch intro, epic album. I had to cut out the leather on the outside of the pointer finger it was beyond saving so I cut it out with an excacto and plan on cutting a piece of scrap and fitting it in. How do I sew it? By hand? Speed stitch?
Hello I have a question. I bought a pretty beat up a2k and did my best to give it new life, but the outside where u would put ur pointer finger on the outside is totally wrecked so I cut it out with an excacto and planned on putting in a new piece I cut from some scrap leather. My question is what's the best way to sew it on, should I pre make hole for the thread? And a quick stitch wouldn't work cause I can't turn that part of the glove inside out. I hope this makes sense. Thanx

Whats the advantage/purpose of the double thumb loop?
The double thumb loop isn’t something very common nowadays. Something I’ve found that’s more a thing in Asian style gloves. I’d say it does help to lock the thumb loop into the thumb felt insert as the tails of the upper portion wrap around the finger felt as it’s routed up to the tip of the thumb, I think creating a more responsive feeling thumb.
Where do you get your binding from? or Leather for lining? Assuming tooling leather is too thick for both... I am trying to rehab an RBG4 as a test run but questioning materials. any advice appreciated

I have a 1st base mit (Rawlings) that had a yellow foam liner in it. Like a memory foam, and it's basically disintegrated. And suggestions as to what to replace it with?

Beautiful work on an awesome glove! The leather back then was insanely good; this is maybe the third grade down from top of the line - and as you said, it looks better than most modern gloves.

It’s a Singer High Point 51. From the 1940s but been refurbished

Kangaroo is only used on the back of the shell to reduce weight. It’s not thick enough leather to use on the web.
