@ I lived in the NL decades ago and never got fluent. Now my daughter lives there and I visit about once a year. I’ll probably never be fluent but I love the language and learning what I can for visits. ❤️

I will actually. Soon, I will start speaking in the dutch sentences myself, and AI will transform it into the character's voices; I just figured out how to do that.

@@TheDutchSoapOpera No, that's not what I mean. I mean stop using AI all together. like please. I keep finding these AI channels that just make me beg for 2012-2019 to come back.

@@__Merchant I know, I appreciate it. I just don't know how I would be able to make something like this without these modern tools like MidJourney and ElevenLabs. This is only recently possible, and it still takes me 90 minutes to 3 hours per day to make these.

Kicken is same in dutch as “vet”, we refer to “awesome” instead of “fat”. Its more like a street language.

@@JFvHussen Maybe it's said in Nijmegen, where I'm from (the East), and not in the West (and I wasn't aware of that).

@@TheDutchSoapOpera even in nijmegen it not “kickt”, trust me. Kickt is not a positive word, we use this word in a bad way, example “hij kickt op kleine meisjes” = he likes small (younger aged) girls. So prefer not use “kickt”.

A girl like Larissa might say 'doe jij maar' I believe. "Ga je gang' would've been more of casual feeling associate with it, 'doe jij maar' is more with the shy/smitten state she is in I believe.

That's true. Again this is an everyday (but incorrect) way of saying it.

It would pretty much map to 'er zo van', I'd say. I choose to not color code everything both because of differences in nuances as well as not to overwhelm the viewer.

I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep because of it actually. = i don’t think I am able to sleep from it. Because gives a reason like “omdat” but it doesnt give one.

Like “because it was so scary” , “omdat het zo eng was”.
