Stan is a good man and I love to hear him play the guitar. I have written about 30 or more songs in my time but only know three chords.G C and D. I wrote (Merry Christmas Elvis) after Elvis passed away and now it is on You Tube called (Merry Christmas Elvis by Brandon McPhee) give it a listen. Stan I wished I had know you maybe I could have learned the Guitar. I went to one of your dads concerts and he was great, i'll never forget that night. God bless You (Mac)

I grew up in west Tennessee, so Carl’s music is very special to me. Several years ago after I had moved to South Carolina I happened to be passing through Jackson, TN on the way to Memphis to play a few music gigs, and stopped at Pop’s Music. I struck up a conversation with this guy Chris who I think managed the store and he told me all about how he knew Carl. I told him I would love to meet Stan one day and he said next time I’m stopping by let him know because he stays in touch with him. So I got the dude’s number and let him know a day before when I was passing back through Jackson on the way home. Sure enough, Chris called back that morning saying that Stan was going to be at the music shop to meet me at like 12 o’clock noon so I quickly packed my stuff and made the morning drive from Memphis to Jackson, and sure enough when I got there, there was Stan. Each of us grabbed a guitar at the shop and played Movie Magg, Daddy Sang Bass, and he showed me some of his original songs. This dude had so many great stories. Stan is such an awesome individual, and I will always remember the fact that he went out of his way and took the time to meet up with some guy he had never met!
