Ostranauts is a game in which you live life as a freelance spaceship scavenger. Acquire high end components, sell them for a profit, and keep your ship functional and liveable. Wow, helium is crazy expensive. I guess that's what happens to gasses that literally float up out of the atmosphere...

Ostranauts is a game in which you live life as a freelance spaceship scavenger. Acquire high end components, sell them for a profit, and keep your ship functional and liveable. I guess we should take care of some of those old redesigns I've been considering, while we drift.

Ostranauts is a game in which you live life as a freelance spaceship scavenger. Acquire high end components, sell them for a profit, and keep your ship functional and liveable. You know that thing you've been talking about doing for a while now? Ever just...do it, and realize it sucks and is probably a waste of time? Yeah.

Ostranauts is a game in which you live life as a freelance spaceship scavenger. Acquire high end components, sell them for a profit, and keep your ship functional and liveable. Sometimes, you get tired of waiting, and go on a half-baked, sleep deprived, off-topic, good, old-fashioned ramble.

Ostranauts is a game in which you live life as a freelance spaceship scavenger. Acquire high end components, sell them for a profit, and keep your ship functional and liveable. Whats the difference between a space ship and a space glider? Power!
Awe man, sad ending to Sylvester´s journey. Thanks again for the series!
From what I've seen of this game, I would wager that plotting long courses and igniting the torch drive should never be done at X16 game speed, especially with initial velocity
You also got climate change notification on this video :D. Thanks for the series, really enjoy it!
Aww, now I feel bad, cause you're nearly at the end of it. At least for now. I'm glad you've had a good time, and I might do something else in the near future. Haven't decided yet...
@@kryptos6606 U should continue the series :)
Or some else, hope you continue and get more subs! Qality series!
Press pause then plot course, then engage and unpause
Um…
The save file is literally named "Autosave". You can turn it off in your exit screen.
Tiny note, it matters which foot you put your shoes on, you sometimes put your left shoe on the right foot resulting in pain;)
You can in a way prevent the character from going through a door when autotasking. You do it by adding (hacking i guess) a passkey to the door and simply locking it before going on auto.
Nevermind, I wrote the comment in the middle of the video as you talked about a way to prevent him from going through the door. And when I continued to watch you literally figured it out 1 min later ^^
Oh, and if you hack the PDAs you get access to the data... That data can be very valuable to certain... Individuals ;)
I'll figure that out, partially, in about four episodes...
Regarding proximity alarms while docked at station. You could in theory add a switch to power off your nav console whilst docked, that would also turn off the proximity alarm. Just an idea :)
Its nice to see you actually building out the ship nicely. Most people tend to just make a huge open box and call it done, which, while functional, is also extremely boring.
Hope you realize soon how useful the cart is to haul around all the turbo pumps and other stuff ;)
Slowly catching up on the series, loving it!
Nice series, quite enjoyable, but, small recommendation, try to mute mic when coughing, youre blowing out the eardrums of us poor headphone users :D
I...agree. And I apologize, it's not gonna get any better anytime soon. Sorry. One day, I will figure this out.
@kryptos6606 Dont worry, I'm enjoying the series a lot :)
there are 2 types of vents auto and manual
Now I just need to find either...
@kryptos6606 you can buy the auto at the station but basic ones are found only on ships and are fairly common on the larger ships
Hey kryptos, you can use the dolly to move the walls more efficiently instead of moving them one at a time
You can set your entire to be the sell/barter zone so you don’t have to go back and forth
If the ship was bigger, you’d have cargo space for loots If there’s something I don’t know you can explain I’m invested or interested the series as it continues
Why aren’t you thinking about making the ship bigger? I’m curious
Frankly, I don't know the game well enough to have a good idea of how much space I need/will need. Which is why I will likely end up with a nuclear brick.
@ I am currently on episode 26 and you’ve increased the ships space and capacity so it’s good I’m just enjoying the videos but I’m curious do you stream?
@@akinlajanicolasabidemi297 Heh, I do not. My schedule is too inconsistent. Maybe one day...
im catching up on the videos and love the content. but i have to point out the sound/balance. or maybe even just the loud/random "UMs". kinda jarring/startling. but keep up the content i have been watching while at the office and its nice.
Yeah, if I'm being honest the technical skills involved in video creation just need improvement across the board. That's one of those long term goals.
@@kryptos6606 its not easy thats for sure. i just get flash backs to when i was in college and had to take a vocational class for my bachelors... I took a Speech class as an easy out and the first thing everyone went through was struggling on how to cut out "filler" words from our speech habits. Um being a big hassle for many in the class with me. But its just loud :( i chill with volume on like 20 and then BAM...gotta turn u down and then i cant hear. blah.
@@TheGruntSavior420 I actually enjoy public speaking quite a bit--it's a lot easier to get away with pauses when you have access to hand gestures, which unfortunately don't translate without a camera. Also taught me to avoid monotone/lack of verbal variation. Also having a prepared speech, or outline, or even specific topic really helps with maintaining proper verbal flow...but doesn't really work when I'm reacting to stuff as it happens in-game. The sound stuff is really a problem, though. I try to dial in my volume before each episode, but yeah, it's too quiet if I account for the occasional loud bits. Maybe there's a way to even out the decibels in editing, I need to look into that.
❤
The screen size or view isn’t full Hello though, keep going
Yeah, that gets fixed in the third or fourth episode. Sorry!
Repair rate is really slow... I wonder if you're out of charge on the drill and weber
Nah, I got blisters from wearing the EVA suit all the time. I'll figure it out at some point.
Talking about perpetual cell growth... Who was/is "Henrietta Lacks"? Some cool stuff there.
the large Item information display that pops up in the upper right of the screen has an 'invisible' box around it. It blocks clicking so you can move there.
The big arrow next to the 'time speed multiplier' will allow you to jump ahead hours.
I saw someone adjust the throttle way down to one tick and slooooooowly move an attached ship out of the way.
You are not wrong, and with a towing brace I think it can be done faster...but I don't think I'm gonna make that a priority.
Extension cords are for temporary use.
The beeping is indeed your o2 level. Once you're less than 10% left in the tank, beeping intensifies.
Seems like it might start even earlier? I don't necessarily mind it, it's surprisingly not annoying while still being insistent. Good game design!
You are a random dude, however you are 1 of roughly 5 dudes playing and posting content for Ostranauts. Thank you for the effort!
Thank you for the appreciation!
You'll still want a crowbar, and a screw driver.
Reactors are *huge* in floor space. Also, there are manuals floating about that you can find that describe how to put one together. You'll need a little more infrastructure (and many, many conduits) before you do so.
If you want to sleep in that game 1- Click the roster button on the iPad and managed a sleeping schedule 2- There is a super fast forward button It’s the next to The regular fast forward buttons Have fun!
Oh, that is extremely helpful. Thank ye Kindly!
They will charge you for "Stealing" the air at K-LEG, under their "Air Exchange" fees.
Yeah, I meant separately from that. I am also somewhat concerned that KLEG might have limited air, and once their cans run out...
Are the yellow wires in the ship a lack of circuits to machinery?
I'm not sure which you are referring to? There's the full conduits, then there's the cheaper emergency wire, (I have a loop sticking out of the wall on the right side of the ship). Both transmit power, it seems. Not sure if the cheaper wires transmit RCS gas.
Do you think the emergency wire may be draining power? I thought in an earlier episode it said he was rigging jumper cables. Thought there may be a loss of power with the issues you had two salvage trips ago. Enjoying the show. Keep it up.
@@deanparsley4265 Hmm. I don't think so, they aren't connected to anything, from what I can tell. Unless its a game mechanics thing. I think I was just not paying attention to my battery charge levels!
The [ and ] keys will change your time speed, and won't unpause you.
F3 close the console. Love this serie!
Also, the 'Warning' he noted in the upper left is the button to toggle the debug console.
There is enough going on visually via the screen data that I find it all pretty engaging, even with sparse action. But yes, the three moments of panic in the prior episode were fun.
No spoilers for future viewers, but I appreciate those two moments of sudden recognition in this episode. And especially hearing you working through it live. That made this really real for me. Haven't played the game yet so I don't know anything about anything.
There's a running deterioration of all your ship's parts on an on-going basis; it's slower for items installedwithin an atmospheric environment, that outside getting hit by dust and radiation. So, yes, it's a good idea to keep your ship's compnents in a somewhat repaired condition or they'll suddenly pop a conduit or crack a wall when it's structure fails. Also... Mystery Meat is something you look into... the chance to discover the source of mystery meat is a little... un-nerving...
Fixer pays more most of the time, but i had seen him paying less than the kiosko, allways check both to be sure. Be carefull about your rest, you are already in orange, and hard work like space walk reapirs will blackout you! I would like to know what you are doing next in the serie, i had started my game this weekend, and im kind on your same point, some money, expand ship, and dont know what to do next.
Well. This might lead to some fun down the line. Good to know! My goal is to get to Venus. Somehow.
60 minutes until you realize you can turn off the alarm! How you do it? LOL. Loving this serie!
You can stop him from repairing on auto task by going into your roster and clicking the thumbs down just like air lock permissions
I'm not sure if you've discovered this yet, but if you sell your salvage permit before needing a new one, you'll get between 3,000 and 4,000 back from the sale, effectively cutting the daily cost for a license to 1,000. It might be a bug, but it's currently feasible.
Oh, that's very cool. I will attempt to keep track of that. Thank you!
Your NavMap ‘issue’ was caused by the “Tracking” knob being set to ‘Target’; focus kept shifting to currently selected target (OKLG). RUclips has changed how creator’s playlist are organized by default, and your playlists (including this one) are now complete out of sequence
Ooo, didn't know that. Thanks for pointing it out!
i think they have plans for radiation; there are epipen-like injectors that contain prussian blue and talk about healing or preventing radiation poisoning (if i'm remembering what i read correctly)
awesome game
the sushi is strong with this one
cool video
I struggled to get through this because even with my volume up absolutely full (to the point where system sounds deafen me), you are barely audible. :( I took a quick peek at episode 2 and it starts the same. Does this get fixed at any point?
Not for a while, my mic was...not good. I'm considering an extended re-record. Sorry about that.
