The plant can be so eye catching when it grows along the complete surface of substrate. I suggest using a shallow pot with a wider area. They dont have deep roots but rather have a habit like that of mint. Happy plant parenting 💚 🌿
Oh, interesting!! I didn’t realize that they thrive in shallow pots. I’ll absolutely adjust that. I suppose it makes sense with as often as it’s included in terrariums. Thanks so much for the tip!
Beautiful, can I ask what is this plant called? I would like to see if I can find one to add to my collection.
It’s a nerve plant! Known to be super dramatic 😅🤷🏼♀️
Fittonia
LOL...that plant really is a drama queen. get her an aqua globe...
I don’t even know what an aqua globe is! I’m going to have to check into that. The only other plant I’ve had that is this dramatic is a bright pink begonia that I was certain I had killed right after I bought them 😅😅😅

Oh I was wondering what was going on this morning 😅
That was it! Sirens and all 😅🤷🏼♀️
Could you use cheesecloth to keep them from escaping in the house over the top of your incubator?
That might work! They also might eat their way through it
Congratulations 🇺🇸 I was fire chief here in Humeston 15 yrs We have done this for our kids
I think it’s such a fun tradition!! I went to a big high school, so that wasn’t something we got to experience going to state.
It’s crazy to see this bc in my dragons enclosure it’s so many baby crickets lol moved him from just paper towels to sand and dirt soil base enclosure and it’s so cool to actually see the crickets making a him in his enclosure hopefully they grow big so he can just eat them hahah
If they get big enough he can eat them, that’s a win!! They will need some sort of food and water to grow though 🤷🏼♀️
What do you feed the pinhead's 😊 30:19 your video is very helpful Thank you
Insect diet with meat from BioForge Labs in Huxley and sliced potatoes. It works well!
Wot do they eat?
Insect diet blend with meat from BioForge Labs in Huxley, IA. You can grab a 2 lb bag of non-medicated chick starter at your local farm store and have pretty good results as well!
Thank you so much for this video. How to you water you crickets? I kept some in the past and the water would make the drown and the crystals are expensive and just get poopy and mold. What have you found that works? Thank you again.
Try a small little dish or container (yogurt lid or something similar with a short lip) put some stones/pebbles in it so they can walk on it and add water! Easy to clean and change and very affordable. Hope this helps!
Popcorn ceilings are a crime against aesthetics
I couldn’t agree more!! I am SO GLAD it’s done.
does it still smell?
It doesn’t! Worked like a charm.
Does the shade not still stink?
Nope! The paint seals it in.
Good job, l just start my cricket farming in Nigeria.
Congratulations!
Monkeys are: hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil
Does it even produce light with a black lampshade?
Yep! It’s not very big to begin with
Nice........😊
Thank you!
a classic
Thank you!
Hear no, see no , speak no evil , monkey's ... ... Della 😊😊😊
Yep! Aren’t they adorable!?
brother eugghhh *if u look at the video but the sound*

Luv it
Thank you!
The monkeys represent see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil
What gold spray paint is that
Rustoleum’s Metallic line. I primed it first, which seems to help considerably.
I had a similar smal lamp. It came years ago w matching photo frame. I wrapped my shade in dark jute string. Everyone loves the shade, nobody mentioned the tiny lamp. I have a larger lamp i covered in dollar tree hula squirt s for adults. I stained before attaching to shade. It does look good but going in next yardsale. Im downsizing round 2. Lol, im supposed to be downsizing! Your lamp is adorable. I wasnt aware i could paint a discolored shade. I do now- Thanks a bunch 🌹.
Oh, the hula skirt cover is a GREAT idea!! I’ve also seen people glue fabric to a discolored lampshade as another option.
Why oven cleaner?
It works great to strip finish & stain!
Looks nice!
Thank you!
It’s cute 🥰
Thank you so much!
Cute!
Thank you! I love it.
What a cutie ❤
Now hold on this is advanced girl math ....makes since regardless of gender

Nah mama, im a 33 yr old man and i fuck with the logic. It just offers so much more to grow the two babies. You do you, youll be alright 😂
I appreciate you 🤣🤣🤣
Maybe a plate?
It’s feet for a pot! I need to do a follow up video on it
Good luck to you! I knew you through crickets and now know about this podcast, to which I've subscribed. Thanks for your leadership in what I think is our most sustainable future food source. I'm sorry this particular business is ending but am glad it was profitable and that it sounds like you were able to sell key parts of it. Sorry about the regressive legislation and conspiracy theorists - sad to behold my home state shooting itself in the foot, again, especially in the face of megatrends that could leave it in the dust. Thanks also for getting me started on eating crickets, which are good for me and for the planet. Finally, appreciate you just sharing, without a script, about your experiences and reflections, like we listeners were just across the table from you. Finally, congratulations on your marriage and many other endeavors! I look forward to future episodes and to catching up on past ones. Take care!
Thank you so much!! Thank you for taking the time to listen. It’s looking like I’m taking a summer break on the podcast for the month of July, but there’s plenty of awesome episodes to catch up on since the beginning of the year. The crickets taught me a ton, but I’m excited for the next chapter ❤️
Not a glow up u some how made it worse
I’m not good at much, but I’m good at that 🤷🏼♀️
@@BuildingInASmallTown u mean buying gold spray paint and spraying a object?
I love Gravy Home Goods and consider Joan and Grant to be not only friends, but inspiration!!
Amazing!! This was my first time meeting them. They're such a fun duo. I think it's amazing what they've been able to spark & inspire on Main Street in Jewell.
What is your male to female ratio or does it matter?
No idea! And it shouldn’t matter. As long as you have males chirping and you can see mature ovipositors on females, you should be good to go.
Good thing u always have a lab for temperatures around 85-83. Da where the crickets always grow faster.
I wouldn’t call it a lab. I would call it a barn!
dusting every day
This is a bit more forgiving than a true black paint would be.
Gorgeous!
Thank you!! I love it. Super comfortable.
You go girl! Wish I lived close to Iowa. I'd come to visit! Put out some pics and videos of Iowa
It's pretty nice in the summer! Winters are pretty brutal though.
Hold on. I'll be right back. I have to go open my front door wide open! I want a baby bunny! 😊
LOL it hasn't been back :-(
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you!!
So Proud of you. Thats beautiful.
Thank you!! I love how it turned out.
That's cute
Thank you! She's rustic & adorable.
It’s beautiful!!
Thank you so much! I love how it ended up.
