Shani is no stranger to raised eyebrows and curious questions when it comes to her reserve duty and passion for being a combat soldier despite being an Orthodox Jewish married woman.
On October 7th, Shani was called to do reserve duty over the course of 4 months, away from her husband, family, and the comfort of her home during a war. Shani chose to serve her country with love, dedication and tenacity.
She speaks of her feelings towards upcoming motherhood, loss, and is a thriving example that there is no "one way" or "correct way" to be a strong Jewish woman.
