Out of all the souls games I've played so far, Sekiro has been my favorite. If you can try giving controller a go as well, it's personal preference but I swear it just feels more natural for Sekiro. Good luck man!

Sawgun/Nailgun and Screwdriver was my winning strategy for this level. Same for Gabriel 2. In my opinion, you're spending too much time on trying to get damage in with the pistols. Use your heavy hitters first, then use your pistols to finish him off when he meets the low health margin (because that's pretty much all hitscan is good for in this fight).
