That "say when!" took a far different tone from the rest of Doc's little speech here. He was done. This man had directly threatened what was possibly his only friend in the world and he was full ready in that instant to put him down. Love those details.

I highly recommend the movie The Gunfighter, which you can see for free on youtube. It's from 1950 and stars Gregory Peck.

Just all these comments show how great this movie is, how many movies are analysed like this one, as if all details no matter how small, were all literally true. I'm a big fan of this movie and it is great to read all these comments, the way people notice, point out all these tiny details, like how doc switched his tin cup to his other hand to free his gun hand when the cowboys enter the saloon, how he yells at Ringo Come on Johnny!! Come on, for his own death wish.. etc. etc. Almost every second of Doc in the movie is analysed, not only like how good Val did his job, but even more so story wise. Off course there are many arguments to say this or that movie is the best, but yeah there are indeed quite a lot to favour this one, just the way this movie still is argued so vividly, and praised, I can easily understand. It simply is a masterpiece with more layers and details one would notice at first sight

Cut it off before one of the best parts, "Barber, proceed , sir. " in that delicious Southern drawl.

Ike Dalton just delayed the inevitable. Val Kilmer's portrayal of Doc Holliday in this movie was exquisite, he should have been awarded the Academy Award for this role, is was the role of his life and he stole every scene he was in.

I just noticed this scene kind of foreshadowed ringos death when he fell into the caskets.. this is such a great movie 👍🏽

Oscars are typically left-wing tainted bullshit- for example, they snubbed tom cruise for "born on the 4th of july"(as good an acting performance as any) and gave it to i forget who(denzel maybe) and yes, even though i enjoyed both wyatt earp/tombstone equally, i think val's performance was as good as any in film. Kurt and paxton were pretty awesome
