MEX 2 | Abandoned 18km highway project | Maju Expressway Extension
The Maju Expressway Extension or MEX 2 comprises a 18km long highway from Putrajaya to KLIA Expressway. This stretch was part of the original Concession Agreement that was deferred due to the Financial Crisis of 1998. The route begins at the Putrajaya Interchange and merges onto the FT26 (existing Lebuhraya KLIA) in Sepang.
The construction of MEX 2 started from 2016 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
But until now this project is still incomplete and no sign of construction work in prog...

Having renewable energy policy is a factor considered by these company also. Our competitor in Asean actually is Vietnam which generated more renewable energy for the past decade. First of all, if you are against data centers, don't use the internet. Everything byte of information that you store into cloud, social media platforms and other websites goes into data centers. Secondly, while data centers use a lot of water and electricity, there are ways to mitigate the problems such as building renewable energy and optimizing air flow. Lastly, data center is a lucrative business that generates a lot of revenue for the government. Even Singapore, an island with limited water and land is also building these data centers along with these following countries: Singapore In 2023, the Singapore data center market was valued at $3.39 billion, and is expected to reach $5.48 billion by 2029 Indonesia In 2023, Indonesia led the data center market revenue ranking in Southeast Asia with $3.08 billion. Thailand In 2023, Thailand came in second in the data center market revenue ranking in Southeast Asia with $2.15 billion.

@@truthful3777 Data centers require dedicated maintenance and tech team around the clock. According to google, the number of people employed at a hyperscale data center can vary, but typically ranges from 300 to 400 people. It will also create job for vendors and services related to data centers such as providing electronic parts and other spare equipment, a security team that monitors the site 24/7 to ensure the data are protected from fire and saboteurs, and also cleaning companies to maintain overall cleanliness of the workspace. Data center is not a storage compartment that is self-reliant, especially at this scale.

Thank you God.. One of the factors for many foreign investors to enter Malaysia is the best highway structure in Asia and the quality of human capital. Hoping that the abandoned MRX 2 Expressway can be redeveloped, in line with all IT Industries choosing a location in Cyberjaya...

If I’m not mistaken, MEX phase 2 was abandoned to save PLUS because a lot of the traffic to KLIA would be redirected away from PLUS to MEX.
