Nighthawk at Carowinds is a retired steel flying roller coaster located at Carowinds. Constructed by Vekoma, it was located in the Thunder Road section of Carowinds. The roller coaster originally opened as Stealth at California's Great America on April 1, 2000. In 2003, Paramount Parks decided to relocate the roller coaster to Carowinds. It reopened as Borg Assimilator - the first coaster in the world to be themed to Star Trek - on March 20, 2004. Three things in this ride were diabolical: 1)The speed launch (unexpected) to then 2) drop at a high speed in the middle of nowhere (you cannot see a thing). When this hell is over, then you 3) fall into the fire pit 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

😢 I remember this ride. they ruined it by removing all of the effects! that Seahorse and the Mermaids is what made this ride what it was.

I loved my first time riding this Tuesday. I have always wanted to go on it since I was younger and I fulfilled that this week. It was so peaceful and I didn't scream at all or feel anything.

Elitch gardens had one of these a long time ago, wonder why they removed it from the park, unless that was due to six flags but i want Elitch gardens to bring it back
This is a fun ride, so hopefully they do bring it back!
@orlandocoasters9762 when they inevitably do move again, I really hope they keep all of their existing rides because they are fun and some of them like the troika were from when elitch's had rides like the casino. Also bringing back rides like it and adding new rides would make it a better park
