Copake Lake. Kayak Bass Fishing. July 2023.
Просмотров 138Год назад
I hope you didn't come here hoping to learn anything! We're just two old men having some fun and enjoying our hobby. Mo and I have been out fishing several times this Summer at multiple locations but we haven't had a day worthy of a video until now. These are my (Jeff) hilights. Mo didn't run a camera for this trip.
JULY 2022. Fishing in the middle of a heat wave.
Просмотров 135Год назад
This video was recorded in mid July during a heat wave. Temps were in the high 90's with little to no wind. The fish didn't start biting until late afternoon. Thanks to the heat our cameras kept shutting down. We were on the water from about 3pm to 8:30pm.

This was a long tough day of fishing. We were on the water from 7am to around 4pm. The weather was chilly in the morning and in the mid 60's in the afternoon. Wind was light and variable.

    Do you keep the extender on when you drive or is it just for loading ?

    • @jrp_hobbies5051
      @jrp_hobbies5051 Месяц назад

      I usually keep it on. After loading, you can adjust it to support the back end of the kayak.

    • @jrp_hobbies5051
      @jrp_hobbies5051 Год назад

      Yea every time Mo calls out a 3-3.5LB fish I always think it's actually a 2-2.5LB'er at best. At least he's consistent! He's usually off by a whole pound and when we weigh his fish he's always disappointed. My trick is to call it a 1/2 pound short so I'm always happy!

    This was a good video of showing how to load a kayak on top of a SUV vehicle. The stepstool was a very good thing to use. I also like how you demonstrated that you can load it up wearing flip-flops. A lot of people think that you have to wear shoes to do that. Flip flops is the only Footwear that I can wear because I have very very extremely wide feet sz15 6 E wide with very chubby fat wide toes that are equally straight across making my foot very very wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. Man I like how your flip-flops was quiet when you walk. My flip-flops flop very very loud when I walk that you can hear me coming from miles away & people look down at my feet & me trying to figure out why they are flopping so loud & I'm not doing this on purpose. I am a chubby fat dude at 300 pounds so you would think with my foot being very very extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide it wouldn't flop really really loud. But I am a huge huge flip flops fan because that's all that I can wear so seeing people doing things that I do I just like to compliment them on it. This was a very good video thank you for sharing.

    • @jrp_hobbies5051
      @jrp_hobbies5051 2 года назад

      That's pretty interesting. I can't believe there are people out there wasting their concern on flip flops while loading a kayak. Isn't that a little insane? I love flip flops!

    • @mackjenkins7721
      @mackjenkins7721 2 года назад

      @@jrp_hobbies5051 yes I agree with you on that I love my flip flops. I do anything and everything in my flip-flops. I even cut grass in my flip flops. You may have green toes at the end of the cutting but that's okay cuz you going to take a shower anyway , ride my bike wearing flip flops , even go to amusement parks wearing my flip flops.

    Cool video. I like how you guys joke around, have fun, and catch a lot of bass. As for those kayakers, the question is not that they were rude, is should be that they were being unsafe. I think they had no idea what they were doing. If you were in a tournament and they were competition, then yes, rude and unsafe. Tight lines to you guys

    • @jrp_hobbies5051
      @jrp_hobbies5051 3 года назад

      Thanks Christopher. You're right those two kayakers didn't know what they were doing. They didn't seem to be doing anything on purpose. I was a little annoyed because I was looking forward to hitting that spot because I caught a couple 3 & 4 pounders (haven't started measuring yet) there last year. I get overly excited about 3lb's because I don't see them often. I'm still pretty new to the sport and don't often run into other kayakers fishing or not.
