Eplete vs Epitope #shorts
Просмотров 104День назад

The Eplet is a sequence of amino acids which the immune system responds to and creates specific antibodies against. An eplet is also known as a functional epitope. But just because an antibody was designed to bind to this doesn't mean that it will stick...and the wider area around the eplet (functional...

Thank you. I really enjoyed your video
Nice video ❤and upload more videos like this 😊😊
Well thanks for the Easiest explanation ❤ Are U single by the way?? And What do u do for living??
short and to the point! perfect🤍
Great video. One more use (that is tied to antibody mediated rejection), is when it is used for desensitization to reduce antibody levels before transplant when there is incompatibility with a living donor, or when antibody levels are so high that you are unlikely to find a donor on the waiting list.
Oooo yes that’s a great point, alongside the plasma exchange for those indications too, yes makes so much sense !! Thank you so much for adding to the know how. Where abouts are you in the world? :)
@@kristeenbarker US. I'm a transplant PharmD in Philadelphia. As someone with a lot of students and trainees, I love your approach to teaching. Thanks for what you do!
Nice idea .. you created HLA-Starbucks😂♥️
lol 😂
Very easy to understand your way with colors and cartoon...thank u
Hi Kristeen, interesting video. Thanks. Just have a question - How frequently have you noticed people using PPI's regularly, suffer from CKD ?

Truly appreciate all the efforts you have put into this lecture.
She cute ! Hahahaha ❤
❤ Long Covid ? Please. What do you think about Long Covid and the immune system, Kristeen ?
Hi Shayak, it’s honestly not something I know much about. I’m sure it would be a fascinating topic. What are you studying towards? :)
@@kristeenbarker Absolutely something that interests me. If we develop proper anti-virals to all these immune diseases including Long Covid and diseases like SLE, we would see so many people living their lives again properly. Hope you will talk about Long Covid soon. Best wishes ! ❤️ I am still NOT sure. I love Medicine and Cancer Research and drug development at the same time. Let's see what the future has in store for me.
Is it standard medical practice to conclusively diagnose an individual who you have never been physically in the same exam room with?
Your explanations are awesome 🤩 thank you!!!
❤
How high Aldo-renin ratio, high bp and hypnotrimia (121) are associated?
This is such an interesting question. LOW aldosterone/hypoadrenalism is associated with hyponatraemia, but i'm not aware of connection with high aldosterone.
Damn nice video
I'm so excited you enjoyed it! :). thank you so much for tuning in

Hello would there be any way to separately purchase the videos from the "Rock your Long Case Series?" if we missed out on signing up?
Hi there!! This year we ran it as a container as it sort of unfolds and builds that way. I worried there would be too much content to get through if I released later and didn’t want to cause stress to the crew. When is your exam date?
Lol in 1st year physiology we were just taught this maneuver without its use irl, thanks for enlightening 😅
Thanks
The cerebellum is highly involved in your sense of "special awareness" there, saved you 5 minutes
Thank you very much , however I have some questions if you please Why does ANCA associated vasculitis be restricted to small vessels ? Why there is a tendancy for granuloma formation in GPA while in MPA there is not ?
OMG, finally found the right tutorial explaining the nomenclature of HLA.❤God bless you, lady!
I’m so excited it was useful!!! What are u studying towards? Thanks you so much for taking the time to comment. You made my day! :)
@kristeenbarker We are running the T 1 DM genetics project and I had to make it clear in my head! This is the only useful material I found!
Thank you so much ❤ You just saved me hours of extensive reading right before exam ♥️😭
Yay! So half it made sense in this bite size format. My best wishes for your exam…let me know how u go! :)
So answer me this... Is myoglobin a body fluid or is it referred to as body juice?
What if they're both a little high?
Great question. That means nothing at all, only when they are being used up (low) is it relevant :)
This is a brilliant video. It explains everything beautifully. Thanks👍
I’m so excited u found it useful. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. You are magical! Have a great day :)

Oh God 😂. Im preparing for occupational English test now and have to hear Australian accent, some words do sound a bit tricky to grasp for the first time. 😅. Btw my final year medschool result came and I passed it and your videos regarding the long case presentation were really helpful. Thank you Dr. Kristeen.
Yay!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!! I’m so excited for you. Also…if you can learn long cases in my accent you are a pro! I had to sit the English test for my visa in Australia (it’s my only language) but even then it requires concentration. So hats off to you for being multi lingual. That’s a super power
As an Aussie love it lol
The best video yet
Yay so excited u enjoyed it!!!
Very similar to southern English/ London accent. Ive been mistaken for an Aussie by Americans a few times.
Yes!!! They are both so beautifully smoootth
That's a damn good Aussie accent.
I’ve had years of speech therapy from the locals lol 😂
