Making hard thing easy to save med students. Thanks mam.❤
Yay! Thank you so much for tuning in. I'm so excited it helped your studies. That's definitely the goal :) Though so impressed you are studying this at med school - don't think i'd heard of it until working as a doctor (might be a sign of age lol).
Not mother nature but God alone
Thank you, super useful!!! Please make more videos on pharmacology! From a fellow struggling med student !
Great work More journal club for nephrology
Very detailed and overall a great video!! Thank you so much!
You are so welcome! Thank so much for stopping by :)
Wowww.. awesome explanation Dr Ma'am ❤❤
Hi Kristeen, could you tell me what the vein or artery on the right side of the forehead is called? It throbs strongly when I have a headache, and I also experience pain on the right side of my neck at the same time. Are they related? And how can I relieve this type of headache? I’d really appreciate your input.
Hi there, I'm unable to give out medical advice here on youtube. There is a wide differential and so much that can be done for headaches. I would strongly encourage you to see your local doctor to assess you regarding your headaches and decide on the best way to investigate and manage as needed. My best wishes for your health
Waiting for part 3 🩷

You’re the only person so far they gave me any kind of science behind this drug they put my dad on Brookings but we’re holding off because they first said it was 7000 then they found a different carrier of the drug and said it’s gonna be 18,000 but it’s only cost my dad four dollars
Hi James, I'm so glad the video helped. And I'm glad you found a cost effective solution within your health system for your dad. Dad's are precious! Wishing so much good health for your dad. Kristeen
Sleep
Terrible video.
Ortho watching you😅😂
Love it! Haha - the algorithm works in mysterious ways :) Hope I didn't bore you too much
I had a ferric carboxymaltose infusion for low iron on 10th dec. 1 week later started getting reduced sensation and then numbness throughout my body. Phosphate low on bloods on 20th dec. by 24th really low calcium with pins and needles in feet and mouth and stiff muscles affecting my walking more. I received phosphate infusion on christmas day but it hasnt increased my phosphate much or calcium. Drs havent checked vit d so do not know if that has gone down but my creatinine has dropped and protein levels too. Looks like I have the fgf23 issue and maybe even secondary hyperparathyroidism. There is a mew syndrome called 6H syndrome associated with this. I reported this to yellow card alert as my reaction is severe and there is no telling if it might continue for years and lead to osteomalacia!!
Oh my goodness - that sounds so awful. I hope you are feeling better and everything resolving. I didn't put in the video that some genetic conditions an be unmasked by iron infusions. I think endocrinologists are the best starting point to get the diagnosis. Sending so much love to your situation.
Thank you so much

Yay!!! That means so much - thank you for joining the crew and please let me know if there's anything you'd like to see on here :)

Yes
Helpful! You’re sweet.
The spirit of cerebellum be with you
lol I love this sounds like a greetings card I would love to receive 🤣 I’m a clumsy girl…I need all the cerebellum I can get. :)
why doesn't that happen with loops?
Oh my goodness I LOVE THIS QUESTION!!! So...as you know frusemide blocks the NaKCl2 transporter in the loop of henle which is a key part of the 'rig' in the loop of henle - helping it to do TWO things - 1. create a concentration gradient AND also 2.help with calcium and magnesium reabsorption. So when we block this transporter, we upset the "rig" and we lose more calcium in the urine. So thats why loop diuretics don't lead to to retention of calcium. If you ever want to nerd out on this with me - i have a beautiful wee series called "tubule school" over on the website which unpacks everything in a very joyful way. Its an absolute blast! But otherwise I hope that answers your question :) 🤓
Beautifull
Off topic, but that accent is 🤌🏼
Thx
thank you too much ,bless you!!
so what would happen if T cells just kept dividing?
Just wanted to say thanks for this video. I’m not a student, but was recently diagnosed with this. Your video made it very easy to understand my diagnosis.
Thank you very much for your explanation. I suffered a cavernous malformation leak/hemmoragic stroke/cn3 palsy with oupil dilatation and 7 months out still eye pain and sensitivity to light. I appreciate knowing WHAT is affected and HOW it works to help me keep faith in healing process.Thank you!
Pottasium citrate is expensive??? How . We getbit for 2 usd
Thank you so much. Very informative.
Yay! So excited it was helpful. Hope all those studies are going well :)
Thank you, Dr. Kristeen. I am not there yet but I am sure I will follow your coaching when my time comes. You are so amazing
You got this Mark! :)
Can be treated adrenal problem or tumour by medicine ?
I completely dissolved my 10mm uric acid stone by taking copious amounts of potassium citrate and constantly monitoring my urine ph using test strips. It really sucked towards the end because I managed to dissolve it into little tiny razor sharp crystals that cut me up badly on the way out. Felt like I had a UTI for nearly 2 weeks but I'm sure it's far better than getting surgery or attempting to pass that monster. To any other stoner out there, once you identify your stone type and research how it forms in your body, turn your urinary tract into a hostile environment for the stone dissolve it. Been stone free for nearly a year now
Also a 1/4 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate in the morning as soon as you wake up feels really nice on the kidneys. It helps clean house in the urinary tract.
Wishing you a life free of stones, and thank you so much for your valuable comment
Show tits
You're good
have they done a subgroup analysis of people who where not overweight to see if they still maintained benefit ?
Such a great question. I don’t think they did that analysis in the paper at least but could be more subgroup analyses to come.
Great. Yes for me.
Yay!
How do u fix
Yes yes yes more of this please!!!! Love love love. I agree; I would also like to know if this is just a weightloss effect or GLP1 agonism effect. It would make sense that weightloss would reduce glomerular hyperfiltration. But getting patients to lose weight is not easy so ofcourse this is a huge win. How amazing it is to be a nephro in an era where we have so many drugs that work!
Zaina!!!! Couldn’t agree more about weight loss being tricky for patients and absolutely living so many nephrology drugs - the guidelines get outdated quickly. Exciting times. Ps I would absolutely love to see your version of journal club idol! :) x
Nice animations 😊
Beauty with Brain
Amazing video. Excited to smash through the rest of your playlist.
Lovely video! If you have already done it, I’m really sorry. May you please do a video on renal channelopathoes? Thank you.
I CAN NOT believe how amazingly you've put this all together! Thank you :)
Is it just semaglutide or is it a class effect, tirezepatide leads to more weight loss 15% vs 12%, can we substitute mounjaro for ozempic. Also the other question comes in regards to the funding. I strongly doubt Medicare is gonna pay for a weight loss drug in a non T2DM setting (seeing they refused to publicly fund wegovy/zepbound)
Oooo not sure I’m only aware of this phase 3 trial in semeglutide specifically but please let me know if u come across others :)
