Tarquin & Ashur (The Viper) Cutscenes & Ambient Dialogue | Dragon Age Veilguard
first part of the vid is saving minrathous | random ambient dialogue at 17:04 | saving treviso starts at 18:46
tried to put them in some semblance of order and hopefully didn't miss any! i only put in cutscenes/ambient dialogues where they talked to each other (plus the viper showing up to help with the dragons cuz it was hot)
also 1) hopefully me using like four different rooks throughout this wasn't too confusing LOL 2) sorry about the audio messing up a few times especially in the first cutscene :| no matter how many times i reloaded my laptop just couldn't handle that one

DA2 All Convos with The Arishok (+ earning his respect)
Просмотров 68 тыс.2 года назад
me and the bestie!!!!!!! this playthrough was with purple hawke so not the most sympathetic responses sometimes but it is what it is. also includes some of the arishok's ambient dialogue timestamps: 00:00 - first meeting w/ him and javaris 2:37 - asking about why they came to kirkwall, the triumvirate, the tal vashoth etc 7:29 - after saarebas quest 8:59 - start of act 2, beginning of saar qame...
fenris knowing qunari could be a good little wink that qunari came from the elf race
With the state of DA nowadays we realize that DA2 was actually pretty damn good.
"only me being a dick is the only honorable way. there is no other honor." Qunari summed up. being a efficient dick is still being a dick. the Qunari missed the memo there.
God, I miss this sort of writing. There was more ire in that Dwarf's exit than I've heard in all of Veilguard.
Thank you for doing this. Leave it to me to find a rare pair and get absolutely *obsessed* 😅
@@KarinBerry did the fastest speedrun(s) of my life for this comp cause they completely took over my brain I definitely feel you 😅😅
“Their actions are mere symptoms. Your society is the disease”. That line cuts deep.
This is a Qunari. What a Qunari!
The fact Tarquin is in essence Tevinter's cassandra is HILARIOUS to me, I think they'd be besties honestly
BY far the best looking Qunari and the absolute best villain in the series.
thenk you for my life
ohhhhhh tarquin calling him "ashur" in the clips from the ending...
I can't believe Tarquin is screwing the black divine
I can't believe it either, I need to see it on my screen in 4k
Tarquin: I can't believe the black divine is screwing me
@ they switch
I like that sometimes he just shows genuine anger over being stuck in Kirkwall for years. Hes not just this philosopher everyone thinks he is. He is also human enough to just want to leave
always lmao when people say he wanted to take over kirkwall, meanwhile arishok was getting butthurt simply from staying in kirkwall. all because of isabella's clear stupidity
I don't care what anyone says, DA2 had the best character design and dialogue of the entire series, despite it's other shortcomings.
Made with such a sort time too, imagine if they gave the production team a proper time they needed.
you should try with merril in your group .... -But your feet did nothing!
Kinda crazy they had the perfect design and writing for Qunari but they decided to throw it in the trash so the giant horned communists can be more "relatable" no joke the second i met Iron Bull in inquisition I hated his guts and never used him.
DA2 is so good by comparison
🤢🤮
@@wardensurana8336 elaborate
I can’t believe Ashur is the Black Divine.
I love their cranky old married couple dynamics so much 😭
DA2 may have been the product of horribly rushed production, but the writing did not suffer nearly as much as it did for Veilguard. This is night and day, even considering the formula for exploring the world for Veilguard is likely how I imagined the devs wanted to explore Thedas in DA2. We truly have lost so much in the waiting period for the last decade, what a shame.
Soo... who saw Viper's appearence, heard Matt Merccer's voice work and went. "God dam it not another one..."
this 30 minute conversation video has more soul than the entirety of Veilguard's companions
that voice.....it sounds a lot like legate lanius from fallout new vegas and more importantly, it sounds an awful lot like Mordoc Selanmere, the pale knight from baldur's gate dark alliance 2 my interest is vested and piqued.
Paraphrases: "Our order is imposed by force, but isn't actually force." "If you don't understand it, then I can't explain it." The Qunari are idealogues, able to internalize the cognitive dissonance inherent in their worldview because that worldview is not based on universals.
god’s work. i love them so much. i’ve just been waiting for someone to scrape their dialogue
hehee 🫶 seriously so obsessed with whatever they have going on
Huh? I saved Treviso in my playthrough, and Ashur survived through it just fine, got the same cutscene with Tarquin as you have for saving Minrathous. He did get Blighted, but since it's Elgar'nan's Blight, the same as Neve/Bellara get infected with, I assume he gets better once Elgar'nan is dead. But I did have Shadow Dragons' fraction all maxed out by the end of the game, maybe that affects whether he survives or not? Ashur also gets a short cameo in "Tempered soul, everlasting" on Treviso route, but yeah, I guess no Tarquin there.
@@rosehill7919 OMG i totally didnt think about how having the shadow dragons maxed out might affect that ending 😮 i only had 1 star when i did the saving minrathous ending and they were fine so i guess i just assumed the endings were static! thank you!! also yeah i thought about putting his little rescue in cuz it’s a cool moment for his character (especially at the memorial afterwards) but my vid was already long enough lol
@@eli1964 yeah, I was just selling all the junk to SD shop before the "big choice" so they were already at two stars by the time I ran off to save Treviso, and then there were enough quests to propel them to three stars. So nepo-baby gets to Divine in peace... well, relative peace. At least Elgar'nan crushed all the Venatori himself to feed his Blight.
I had a side mission to save asher from venatori due to his weakness from the blight maybe that is why he had the energy to get back up again
@@eli1964 I was gonna say why did Ashur died guess that answered the question 😅
It's understandable how easily we see the Arishok as a villain based on his actions and belief in the Qun. However, the Arishok did nothing wrong, he performed his duty admirably and I see him as another victim to the crazy shit that was happening in the city :3
FiRsT
YAAASSSSSS
@@eli1964 HELL YEAH BROTHER
It was satisfying to gain his respect then kill him in a one on one duel as a sword and shield knight.
I wouldn’t want his respect. his beliefs in the Qun are extremely contradictory it’s kind of annoying I can’t just slap him during his rants
"One day... we shall return." And they literally never came back. Dragon Age 2 was a great look into the military arm of the Qun. We get basically nothing of it afterwards, just a little bit from Iron Bull, some of which contradicts what we already know. Veilguard...lets not talk about that.
Arishok did nothing wrong
The butcher almost spoke as well as arishok. But still he dies so quickly, i wish we could fight and recruit his faction instead of the crows. But he was blighted for intel
The butcher was quite interesting. But at the end of the day he was tempted by the Gods powers which contradicts what the Qun is about
I was too harsh on DA2
The funniest thing is that if the Arishook survives and goes to Par Vollen, gets court Martial'd by the Qun because he set a city on fire and killed a bunch of innocent people because he got robbed by an unrelated party. Then he gets executed and replaced with Sten. If you killed him he still gets denounced by the Qun at large.
Forgot to do the loyalty quest for the Arishok where he comes out as gay to his confused dad.
@@gabrieldavis4434 i mean he is canonically gay so
For all its flaws, the writing was pretty fire!
They basically turned the qunari into tiefling
The worst thing about DA2 was you could tell all the side content was cookie cutter. It always is, but the fact that it was so obvious always broke my immersion. Personally the combat isn’t my favorite but it was still solid.
#ridethebull
😏
How am I just now noticing that he sounds like Vin Diesel
I still remember th first time i played DA2 in 2011... I got so hooked to it and when i reached The arishok, I can't find the words to say how much I liked, everything... Then I played origins and while the story was good, i could never get into it fully because i was used to the combat in DA2... But I have to admit i liked how many spells and how they interacted with each other worked in origins
The Arishok 🫡
I remember to be disappointed in DA 2 at the time, but now after veilguard, well DA2 had its flaws but honestly what the old Bioware did in 14 months is far FAR better then what new Bioware did in 10 years. 10 years Carl . And according to art book in Dredwoolf we could actually try to negotiate truce between Tevinter and Qun and meat Archon and new Arishok ( who was Sten in DAO)
Welp none of this matters now.
God the Antaam in Veilguard don't even grasp at the quality writing of the old Qun based Quanari
"You alone are basalit-an!" One of the greatest compliments any of the characters I ever played ever received.
I hoped to go to Par Vollen in Veilguard, maybe in the next game.
Thanks big dawg just got the achievement cuz of this
