This man is the Cary Grant of lead guitarist monsters. Humble, soft spoken, talented beyond belief and pure class.

Well even tho' this book was published some time ago, it's only just come to my attention. There's a part of the book which deals with Roger ( and Laurence Selcoe ) managing a band called the Milton James band. Well, I was the drummer. It was an exciting time. We had access to the fabulous music collection that Roger owned ( and was constantly adding to ) so a lot of the tunes we were playing live were unknown to our audiences---and boy, did the music go down well!! And yes--Roger DID sack lot of the musicians in the band. One night at a gig ( I think it was in Keighley, Yorks.) we refused to lug Milton's PA up the stairs and we left it outside on the pavement ( Dave Bowker and me and the rest of the lads were always taking the p*** ). Well, when the car rolled up carrying Milton and Roger and Laurence and they saw the PA on the pavement, our management went ape-sh**. So we got our marching orders...!!! Great days. This book is a great read. Bill, I wish I could have been interviewed for it and got in my two-pence-worth !! Henry Quick, Stockport

Does anyone know the guy with glasses on pictured in the video with Roger Eagle and Muddy Waters, his name is Roger Fairhurst and I think he lives in Preston now?

My hubby DJ'd with Roger regularly and is still DJ'ing. Roger's influence is still very much in evidence in his sets. I know he misses him a lot!

A excellent book, I've just finished it. It's amazing that Roger Eagle has affected my life in so many ways but I never met the guy personally. Even now I'm checking out artists who I had never heard of until I read about then last week. A recommended read for all lovers of good music.

All musics good but Roger knew that some was better than others..Even a style you dont like can throw up gems....So keep your mind open theres still plenty out there I missed but thanks to Roger, The Wheel and The Magic village my grounding in various music styles is keeping me still young at 64.."Help me".

All of this looks & sounds great! I recall Roger's gigs at Rafters, Oxford Rd (and a police visit in the middle of Rockin' Dopsie's Zydeco band, I think) I also treasure some of Roger's C90 compilations I bought from him (in the doorway of a famous M/cr record shop, nonetheless) full of the kind of musical gems referred to. Looking forward to the book.
