Didier Berthod | Squamish's Longest Roof Crack: Gold Rush
Legendary crack climber, Didier Berthod, returns in this cracktastic comedy to complete the soaking wet first ascent of Squamish's longest roof crack boulder.
The boulder is called Gold Rush and is a 30ft long crack located off the Indian River forest service road in Squamish British Columbia, Canada. Didier made the first ascent on February 8, 2024. This is his first film since 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵 in 2006.
FUN FACT: The boulder was originally discovered by Squamish local, Tristan Salson, who shared it with Didier as a Christmas present.

Просмотров 5146 месяцев назад
A student on a date is abruptly rejected. Forced to reassess his wardrobe, he fantasizes about a world that accepts him for what he loves: CROCS. I figured the Avengers all had their Origin films, so why shouldn't I? 😅 Over the years, folks have asked why I go by the name: "Vinny 2 Crocs". Well...this student film is why. This was my first little project shot with my friends in 2019 on sh...

Amazing!
What a weak ass film full of misconceptions and clichés
The land acknowledgement. Hahaha. 😂
Sequel of the Blair witch project?
Nice to see the legendary Didier.
Find another way to promote this channel of entertainment. This one sucks
This is the most cringe, lame as hell shirt film ive ever seen. Wtf even is this man..how could this corny film win any awards ? Its the most wanna be edgy drama bullshih ive seen in a ling time. 0/5 stars trash
I love that there's no music and you can hear the gear and the breathing and the climbing. Great video
Sensationalising this is evil.
This is bad. Bad. Pathetic. 😊
Making your mother cry and friends being worried absolute sick when they are fully aware of your mental health issues and goin AWOL is such a classic joke, so funny and such a flex showin that.
per quanto riguarda il pericolo valanghe non si è ad una distanza forse troppo vicina ? chiedo ad un professionista
one of the most important films ever made.
Wow, I'm a climber and I found that very powerful and moving. I was flabbergasted when I saw so much negativity towards this in the comments. I can hardly imagine the amount of work that went into this short film, I hope you don't take the negativity to heart, because I thought this was beautifully made and had a really interesting message.
Hey, what sunglasses are these ?
Ausgezeichneter Film. Ich liebe es, wenn Kletterfilme auch lustig sind. Grüsse aus Basel
Yeah! Awesome Nat!!!
Love the style. You can tell he's from an era where climbing videos were still weird :)
Awesome
Très sympa de revoir Didier la légende. Et vive le français !
Awesome 💪 great climbing and fun video. Loved it of course 😀👏
Any chance you guys together show the world what a serious crack session would look like? I doubt there'd be any seriousness, just an absolute crack 💪
Now I know what I miss in my training.....Power Tools 🤣
Impressive feat. The vid is fuqqin goofy.
thank you for smoking. (and an absolutely awesome video!)
😅
Nice didier for keep showing your skills as a wizard 😂 And thanks the director and all the crew behind of this 🤘🤘
Sick vid!
This was a lot of fun to watch !
Didier!!! The crack Master is back!!!! 💪
Absolutely amazing and the out takes are hilarious.😂
🎉
As a French man, I'm triggered 😜🥖
😂😂😂
Absolute Gold, what a Rush 🥁😏
Super fun video. Where is the stupendous crack?
Off the Indian River FSR, 15min out of downtown Squamish. Location details are linked in the video description 🙌
Epic
reminds me of the morgue in hueco
This is better then basically 90 percent of climbing films nowadays
Great stuff, watched till the last second, very well done! Also: crack legend! 💪
Hilarious video and awesome climb!! Other directors should take notes... this is how you make people care about a boulder that isnt V16!
Very cool video! Would love to visit some day! 😁

This is extremely amateur and extremely cringe worthy
why so much hate regarding video??? Crybabies: It seens climbers are so upset that their story was not shared-- all climbers aren't self centered twots reaching to be a 'rock star ' no pun intended
Do you rock climb? Also most people are upset because it plays on stereotypes and an unrealistic scenario. It’s pushing the idea that many people who rock climb have a death wish while in reality, most don’t want to die.
@@Lared4life Yes I am a rock climber And I did not at all see this video as one that was putting all climbers into one box One could also suggest then that the video also portrayed vets with PTSD as reckless individuals with a death wish I see most climbers as gutsy men/women who just love the outdoors and enjoy pushing boundries but not at all death seekers I took no offense to this video If you climb Im certain others have said to you " dude are you nuts- do you have a death wish???" non climbers are either in awe of climbers and see them as amazing or see them as reckless individusls and cannot grasp why one would take such risks Im by far no pro and I take very few risks Im one who sees the elite climbers as total rock stars Its amazing to watch someone solo a rock face I love the sport Anyway be safe
cheesy
Lol what the fuck is this
Nice work! Damn that looks hard! Best belayer in Canada! 😆😆
Awful lot of people in the comments that just can't relate to the emotional side of this experience... it's very personal and iykyk.. I loved it. Thank you for sharing!
What is this?? Definitely not a free solo movie... more of an attention grabbing stunt.... there isn't this drama in climbing...
And that’s only because of fear of addiction.
Allllllllllrrighttyyy then, totally normal with having a full on conversation with yourself in the comment section.
@ I don’t like heights haha
Like really don’t like then
@ I also this brought up some feelings about a close friend I lost unexpectedly so sorry for my unusual behavior
Or panic attack meds
