"Want players to relate to the hero more than any other character"? I don't mind not having party control, and I and appreciate the things they did to make the characters feel like their own people. But, "relate to the hero?". That was never going to happen for me, given that in the versions there was no party control, there was no FeMC. I guess Hashino-san just expected boys to play Persona at that time......?

Tl;Dr: can an enemy resist and decrease the damage of an all-out-attack? I found that in the very first block just after you start the game, the first rare shadows you encounter and one of the mini bosses are the floating hands, luxury hands I think. (P3P is my first, not even to the very first barrier as of writing this) Thru trial and error I discovered their only weakness (that I could find) was physical pierce damage. Now.... here's the thing... I eventually found I could charm them and their standard attack would knock eachother down (great funny stuff) BUT, an all-out attack would STILL do absolutely minimal damage. As in, literally still less than the max hit for yukari's bow which was in the 20s. Is an all-out attack a boosted normal/physical attack with direct damage applied? Or can an all-out attack me resisted just like everything else???

3 years late, but some things not mentioned in the video that might be useful: •Koromaru is the only party member that starts already with his ultimate Persona. Moreover, Cerberus is the only party member Persona that nulls 2 elements instead of only one, those being Fire and Dark. Combined with the Counter skills and his native dodge chance, he's suprisingly tanky despite his base HP and Endurance. •Aigis, Junpei and Koromaru all get the multi target versions of their buffs starting at around level 45, meaning you'll to rely on MC waaaaaay less for buffing. •ALWAYS, and i mean ALWAYS analize with Mitsuru or Fuuka when fighting a new enemy. Even if its a Tartarus boss and its weaknesses dont appear to you, the party members will register them and use actual useful skills. Not analyzing is how you get Mitsuru spamming Marin Karin against random enemies.

the devs deliberately made party members uncontrollable, for a specific purpose and go into great detail on their design decision, defending the decision. . .only to backpedal on it in persona 3 portable and allow you to control the companions. . . i'm not calling the devs hypocritical, because i myself would rather just control the companions and issue commands, so that change is a positive thing. i just thought it was funny i'm playing FES and it's so irritating when one of the companions does something dumb that i don't want them to do. . .

With some hackery, you can force the Protagonist to wear Gun or Knife. Using Gun will crash the game but knifes will act like the 1h Sword. Unless you also hack some animations you can use the Gun with Aigis animations from using the rifle type (Not fingerguns or cannon). I did that once and it was hilarious

i clicked on this video because i misread the title as "a necromancer's guide to persona 3", and i was very intrigued. i was, however, disappointed to realize that i had been mistaken, and would not hear tips meant for necromancers interested in playing persona 3

2:05 "You're not meant to make them work FOR you, you're meant to work WITH them." I love this. Truth be told; I've always prefer playing Persona 3, 4, and 5 using AI party members. It's sad that they kinda ditched the idea because they couldn't really find a way to balance AI limitations and player agency. Now every Persona game since P3P has the Direct Commands tactic to ease the frustration.

One of my all time favorite game! I love the story better than Persona 4, though the mechanics are harsh
