In this episode (Ep.65) we're showing off our finished front porch, plus Matt finds an old Coleman lantern that reminds him of the one he had as a teenager that he used while ice fishing.

Excellent advice Matt. One of my many regrets as well.
So did you use foam for your walls?
No, I actually used Mdo (marine) plywood. 1/2” thick.
@@MattZudweg it looks great!
@@c0pyimitati0n thank you! Holding up perfectly after two years. I’d do it again.
@@MattZudweg awesome!! I plan on making epoxy foam shower walls for my shuttle bus RV conversion I'm currently doing
Those were premium ski boats back in my day, superb work saving a jewel.
@@dancundiff3316 thank you!
Very cool. With a sink tip it should have some excellent action!
Ima guess all good since you've owned six of them?
Awesome
Thank you 🙏🏻
Those shower walls, did you epoxy the back sides too in case water got back there at some point?
Yes, I did. Although in hindsight probably not necessary.
Great video... I don't tie flys. Do you sell flys? or can you tell me where to buy them. Thanks.
www.boneyardflygear.com
Hey man, great video. This might be a ridiculously specific question, but how do you find the zudbubbler action/pop compared to other poppers? Is it “louder”? Thanks!
Deeper sounding pop than cylinder shape.
How did they tie the lean to into the roof
If I remember correctly, they ran a 2x12 stringer layed flat along the existing roof and nailed the rafters to that.
My god. That motor.
Oh... oh really. I havs a ear to lend
What vise are you using
The Norvise with saltwater jaws and magnum hubs. Thanks!
I like the new design
Did you used 4×4 treated?
We used 4x6 treated for the lean to and porch. The main house we used 6x6’s.
👍
Please you email??? For cicada popper , for cicada winghs...are adress manifectury for Winghs... thank you William Baricordi Italy.
Really cool idea with the pin head eyes!
Very Nice. I have a “lifetime supply” of those kiddie interlocking floor squares for heads - but they don’t have black. Going to cut blocks from the orange, lime and yellow ones and hit with black coloring pen. Leave some of those other colors on the bottom/weave pattern size. Thanks for posting.
Awesome!
Wish I could afford a 16x60 powerdrifter.
Did you still use the liquid fusion?
I didn’t in this video but it’s just as good as the super glue for attaching wings and can be used as a clearcoat for the popper as well.
Great Fly and Thank You for the subtle tip on tying off the hackle.... 👍
Thank you!
I like the changes from last year. Ty
The dubbing is fantastic !!!! Saw Kevin at the Fort Wayne show and he had some flies tied using the material. Thanks Matt
Looks like a great diving wake maker !!! Thanks for the ideas 👍
Can’t believe you would buy 6 of these
Genius use of the popper head!
I haven't tied in probably couple of years..... My Fiancé wants me to teach her how to tie so she can fish with her own creations which I feel is awesome!!!!! Thanks so much for getting Me back in the mood to get my tying gear out and wanting to tie once again!!!!! This is my first view of your flies..... Love how you explain everything!!! I've subbed to you and I will be back, which I don't do often for MOST RUclipsrs!!!!
That's the quickest a cicada has ever emerged. Thank you for not taking 17 years to produce that pattern..lol😂 kidding aside, thanks for sharing that pattern. 👍
lol, great comment! Thank you 🙏🏻
How is this size boat on the flys only section of the PM? Is it too large for that size river?
This boat would be much too large for the flies only section of PM. You’d be much better off with a drift boat or big horn skiff on PM. Thanks for the question!
Thanks for the insight! We're looking at an XXL right now for my Pro Guide Son
go to 8:30 for opinion.
EDIT!!!!!!
Can't find the blower on my 1987. It just quit working yesterday out at table rock lake. Anyone could help? Love the work you did on your boat
Thank you. I took the blower off mine. It’s just to get any gas fumes out of the gas tank area if there are any to prevent igniting a fire. I have plenty of air flow so it wasn’t necessary. Your blower should be somewhere near the gas tank but someone may have removed yours as well.
Great video Matt! I am curious why you prefer a center console rather than a tiller. On my previous jet boat I had a side console and sold it as it was just too heavy for the streams I fish so I always thought if I got another boat I' d get a tiller to lessen the weight and also create more room. But maybe these stealth craft boats are so much lighter than my aluminum boat that I don't need to ditch the console. ANy insights you can share is appreciated.
Thank you! The SC center consoles are built from coosa board which is super light and strong so the weight has not been an issue at all. The main benefits I’ve enjoyed from a CC over a tiller is 1. Never having to trade places with client when motoring 2. I have a much better view of what’s ahead when motoring 3. When by myself the boat is balanced well and not rear heavy 4. I feel safer when motoring through skinny water where I could possibly hit something because I have stationary things I can hang onto 5. I can trim up the motor and or steer slightly when dropping though a run while fishing to maneuver the boat slightly in each direction when swinging flies 6. It’s a nice thing to lean against instead of sitting all day. Hope that helps!
I just bought the same boat. Needs a little love. Yours is inspiring.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your talents!
Thank you 🙏🏻
How are these holding up?
Fantastic! No regrets in doing it the way I did.
The porch looks awesome! Those lanterns bring back alot of memories for me as well. If I had a dollar for everyone of the glass globes I cracked splashing cold river water on them. I would probably have enough to buy a new stealthcraft! Lol .
Thank you 🙏🏻
Looks very peaceful
Is this boat made out of fiberglass?
Yes, it’s fiberglass over a honeycomb plastic so very rigid.
Have you had any experience with the 18ft Great Lakes edition?
Thanks for the question. I’ve seen this boat but don’t have any experience with it.
Hey Matt, Really appreciate your insights as there isnt alot of information and first hand opinions online, helped me making a decision, and just bought myself a used stealthcraft ATB (the 16x54). Was curious on those G2 Boatbuckles how you've found them/are they padded where they clip over the gunwales? I was looking at upgrading the straps as I'm finding it moves around a little too much with the current strap system. Any other suggestions on setup/features?
Thank you! The g2’s are the bomb. Work perfect and don’t scratch the boat at all. Honestly one of the best inventions ever.
Last year I bought a 1990 ski supreme and almost done touching it up with some new mods 💪🏼
Great video. Enjoy the info. I have a SC Hooligan XL.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Lose the beard, it makes you look old, real old, I'd guess you're 60 or so.
Matt, have loved the Zudbubbler for years!! Your first video was wonderful and this one is even better. Clear and thorough, presented very well. Thanks for the update. - Ian Anderson
Thank you so much Ian!
Do you ever add flash by the marabou? If so, when/why to add flash or not?
I very rarely do but you certainly could. If you were using a white theme to imitate a wounded baitfish a little Krystal flash would be a great idea. Thanks for the great question!
I do some remote fishing here in northern Alberta. I used to use my 14 foot utility boat with 25 jet to skim around. It was super lightweight and had the wetlander coating to keep it slippery and help with keeping impacts as dents and not gashes. I’ve sold it and bought a big jet boat which is fine for the family days. But I’m looking for a river runabout that can serve duty as fish/ drift and possibly even packing a moose out. What size boat and motor would you suggest for at least 800 -1000 pound capacity and still get up on step?
Thanks for the comment. I’d recommend the 18/54 or the 18/60 power drifter. Might even want just a tiller instead of center console so you have more room for packing out a large animal. Either of those models would handle the weight and still plane off easily.
Great tie! Can you show us the laser leach next?
That ones almost too easy for a video… maybe I’ll do it though 😁
How does it row??
Not as well as a drift boat or even as well as my last power drifter that had a 40/60 merc. It’s a big boat with a big motor. I row all summer for bass trips and if it’s not windy it’s not a bad row. If it’s windy and I have two clients it’s a bit of a workout.
@@MattZudweg I’m interested in a smaller 16ft one or maybe even the UFO (not sure how small/tippy that would be with 3 guys) just curious how they row.
A 16ft PD with a 40/60 merc rows super good. I’ve not rowed a ufo but I imagine they row very well.
