Chiang Rai, Visit White, Blue, & Black Temples. Local markets, ride out to the Golden Triangle
We arrived by bus in Chiang Rai after visiting the amazing Lampang. We have 7 days booked in this Northern Thai city.
Our first night here we visited the Saturday Night Market. This was a very large market offering many different foods to try along with the typical items found at other markets. Here, I tried some large grasshoppers, and I must admit that I enjoyed the flavors, even if they were a little dry. We visited the Temples known to be in the area, the White (amazing), the Blue (incredible) and lastly the Black (different).
We rented a scooter and drove to the Golden Triangle, which was interesting to see. We then continued our ride to Pha Hi Village, which was a very nice bike ride...

We spent four nights and went snorkeling three mornings at 6:00 a.m. We were amazed at the sardine run, but our greatest thrill was swimming with the turtles, which we were lucky enough to experience every time we went out. Getting to Moalboal from Cebu is easy. We hire a car at the airport for 3...

Don't miss out on Wat Huay Pla Kang!!! It's every bit as amazing as the other 3 sites you filmed and nearby. Chiang Rai is often only included as a day trip from Chiang Mai visitors, but there is way too much to see nearby for 1 day. I recommend 3 days in Chiang Rai if you are looking to site see. The Night Bazaar, the famous Tham Luang Cave, Golden Triangle, Burma border near Mae Sai, The Chou Fung Tea company, and Longneck village are all pretty time consuming, but need to be experienced over a few days.
