Something of interest is the fact that we don’t know the Captain’s full name. We know his first name as James, but what of a surname? That aside, I like his character because though he is a gay man, he is not portrayed as a hokey sort of stereotype. He is more like someone’s doting but stern father, who just happens to be gay.
